 Central for visiting tourist spots,

Campsite average

The toilet block could do with updating, toilet seats broken, shower very hot unable to alter temperature would be too hot for a child, no hairdryers

We liked the traditional camp site feel.

The owners were welcoming and accomdating.

The showers were very hot, and the facilities a little tired but clean.

The location is pretty and near the train station if needed.

We would visit again, as good access to costal areas and anwick by road.

The site was pleasant and the pitches spacious. However, the showers and toilets left a lot to be desired! The water was hot and plentiful but the toilets were well below the standard we have come to expect, especially in these Covid19 days. There were no cleaning products available, only anti bacterial gel, not viral! One toilet seat was broken, another the door wouldn’t close.

All in all, I felt very squeamish about using them. They had nearly four months of enforced closure to update the toilet block!

This site changed hands last year and the new owners could not be more helpful.

Lovely setting, handy for days out. Facilities clean and top notch.

New owners were really friendly as we are newbies this was important.

The pub has been refurbished and is due to reopen soon, this will add an extra welcome dimension to an already superb site.

Apparently the inn has been closed for at least a year so good luck getting a meal there. Facilities block cleanliness only 8/10. Also ran out of hot water for shower.

VERY close to main train line(van shook!) which didn't bother us but might some. Convenient location. Update your info because it's false advertising and very disappointing.

Also something more than a sheet of paper pinned to the door as a greeting perhaps? On a Bank Holiday weekend?

Ok site, good location if you want to visit Amble and surrounding Northumbria coast. Electric hook up, elsan and water. Dogs welcome. Site sits right next to train line so you need to Iike trains as pass through every half hour or so.

Ate in pub, nice real ales but food not great, all fried or frozen, no fresh veg or salad in site. Shower and toilet block adequate, light on a timer, so plunged into darkness when sitting on loo. Water in showers very hot. Whole block would value a refurb and a good clean to bring it up to the standard of charging £20 a night.

Pricey for what you get and suggest re-vamping the menu in the pub, less chips and burgers and more fresh food, Amble is a fishing port, so fresh fish would be nice.

This is a Lovely site good size pitches with hard standing as well as grass & your own water supply, very central for places to visit around Northumberland

The toilet & shower block are a good size and very clean.

We had a meal in the pub which was very nice & good size portions

A return back to Northumberland is definitely on the cards

Recently stopped on way Scotland after reading about the site I thought it would be nice stop over.

Walked around to see what to do, one notice saying one thing, another say something different, then Rachel came out saying find a pitch and pay later in pub - all the time on her phone very professional!

They cleaned both ladies and gents in five minutes, not good. No cover for campers doing hand pots outside. Lots of noise from pub and road.

Sorry not a moaner, far from it, I give credit where credit is due, have a rethink Ladies

This campsite is nicely located near Amble and the site itself has 2 areas, 1 in front of the pub which has a couple of hard standings and a grasses area for tents. The other part is hard standings with good sized pitches, separated by young hedging. These pitches have their own water and electric but no waste facility.

The wash block is located in a converted porta-cabin, which although clean (cleaned every morning)is very run down and the showers are poor. The heating consists of an electric radiator, which was not working in the men's part, which made it unusable. The toilets were clean and hot water was available.

The Pub is handy and the meals were good and reasonably priced.

In conclusion, I think the price of £20 in off peak is too much considering the washblock, and it is best to think of this site as a CL type and perhaps £12-15 would be a more reasonable price.
