Facilities (gents) were clean but desperately in need of refurbishment. One of three toilets had broken lock.
Parts of the site were seriously overcrowded with units only touch distance apart.
During our star the site seemed to attract extended family groups which led to noisy nights.
The site is in places only 20 metres from the main London to Edinburgh train line and can get very noisy due to trains going passed at very high speed.

Stayed here for 1 night only as a stop over on the way to the Highlands, thank goodness
What a revolting site!
Very small and crammed in like sardines
Huge skip type bins and seriously overflowing
Toilet block disgusting
One to avoid
Not cheap either

We had a brilliant stay here
Pitches are really big
The pub is lovely, really Dog friendly, that was great for us because we could take our dog with us and new year's eve was fab, lovely buffet, disco and karaoke. staff were so friendly and very helpful
The only thing I would say is the pitch we were on had long branches hanging and the first night the wind was really bad and they were banging on top of our caravan
And me and my Daughter went for a shower at teatime and the water was cold but on a morning they are lovely and warm that's only issue we had,
Like I say we absolutely loved it there and will definitely stay there again 😊

This is a beautiful site we had a lovely stay.
However the light on the electric unit stayed on all night which made the tent very light and the trains and road are a little noisy.
The pitch was spacious, like the fact each pitch had their own water tap.
Shower was very powerful with lots of hot water and good amount of toilets.
As we live local we will use this site again as close to Hauxley Nature Reserve, Seahouses, Alnwick and The Running Fox tea rooms.

We received a very warm and friendly greeting and were escorted to our pitch. We had hook up and water on the pitch which was generous and level.
We liked that there were picnic tables for most (possibly all) pitches. The Railway Inn served very good and fairly priced food.
The washrooms were slightly dated but very clean and perfectly adequate.
We thought the cost was perhaps a little high and being asked for an extra payment for a relatively small awning seems unreasonable.
As the name implies the site is right next to a very busy railway.
Overall it is a site well worth using.

We arrived on a Saturday but the site was not too crowded.
Lovely large pitch with water and electric hook up.
Very pleasant being able to sit outside the pub in the sunshine after we'd pitched and enjoyed a refreshing drink!
The site emptied on Sunday and Monday so it was like having the facilities to ourselves!. They were kept clean and seemed adequate for the size of the site.
Yes there is a train line nearby and also a road, but neither of them affected our stay at all - they do not make overbearing noise.
We chose to walk to Amble, Hauxley Nature Reserve and Druridge Country park - all beautiful parts of the country.
There are no shops within easy walking distance so make sure you have supplies (or use the pub!) Staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful.
We needed to use a pipe to empty our waste but it wasn't a problem for us.

We used this site as a short break/stopover on our way to Scotland. It's in a good location to visit Druridge Bay and the surrounding countryside.
The site itself was fine but the facilities were tired and not cleaned regularly. The toilets ran out of loo roll and hadn't been checked for a couple of days. Having said that the showers were good with plenty of hot water.
The washing up area was quite basic with one sink, not under any cover which would be a problem in bad weather.
We had a nice meal in the pub on our last evening.
We have stayed on sites with much better facilities which were cheaper, we thought £30 per night was expensive considering.

Fabulous site would highly recommend on arrival a quick phone call was made and within a minute I was met and welcomed. Quick process to get booked in and payment made. We were shown to the pitch 13 nice level gravel pitch with electric and water connections.
Toilet and shower block are a little dated but kept wonderfully clean with a good supply of hot water.
Site is close to railway and main road but not overly noisy, and just a shame there is no dog walking facilities on site, and care has to be taken if you have to use the payment over the railway bridge to get to a dog walking area.
Pub is a great place to be of an evening we were lucky to have a bar full of friendly people, and I include the bar staff who were quick to serve and always a pleasant comment or smile.
Evening food was good, as was Sunday lunch great value.
On the Saturday night we were entertained by "Tommmy the turn" and found ourselves singing along to lots of the songs.
Hopefully will revisit this site again soon
