We loved this little site. The wardens were exceptionally friendly and helpful, the tiny shop was basic but handy and the location is excellent. The site itself is basically a paddock, one side of which is fenced and the other bounded by trees. We pitched our tent here for some shade as it was very warm and sunny. The proximity of all the facilities of Sherwood Forest made this an excellent choice: extremely peaceful, yet lots for children including cycling, walking, Go-Ape nearby, etc. The toilet facilities were really very clean indeed and it was lovely to be able to have a hot shower at any time, as the showers are electric. The dish washing area was clean and covered, but only two sinks. No problem at all when we were there, but it was quiet. There were only a dozen tents pitched, including us, but the atmosphere was friendly, relaxed and nobody minded the kids playing - for which there was lots of space. We were there mid-week and I believe it gets a lot busier at weekends, so bear this in mind. We booked two nights and wished we could have stayed longer (hubby had to return to work). We will certainly be back.

Brilliant site really enjoyed our first camping trip the lovely weather helped. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We were able to choose where we wanted to pitch and although the site was full for the bnk holiday it didn't feel crowded. Although there were only three showers in each block and the site was full we never had to wait. Toilets and showers were always clean. No play area but the kids were happy to play with a ball and there was a giant jenga belonging to the site that they played with. Plenty of lovely walks in Clumber a great kids play area and bike hire. We spent a day at White Post Farm that's not far away either. We will definitely return to this site

The positives : although its not a level campsite and there is no electricity the staff are welcoming and friendly. Toilet and shower facilities are good ( but not brilliant) and clean as is the potash area. You have access to all of Clumber Park. The little shop hasn't got a lot in it, but again its friendly staffed.

The negatives : It cost me £23 to camp for one night with a one man tent and a bike. They decided to stop selling hot food before 4pm and it cost £4. 50 for a dry cheese sandwich. There aren't any Wardens around to check on anything at night either, like quiet after 10pm.

At that price for a one man tent I wouldn't use it again,

We've just been back from a 5 nights stay in a Pod, which is a very well built wooden structure with a heater and electricity sockets for your use. This is a very good option for those wanting to camp in a more comfortable way.

There are facilities for washing up, toilets which are kept clean, even though at peak hours toilets may be a bit too crowded. Best part was the park itself is very beautiful, the camp site is situated in the middle of the park and at a short distance of the main park facilities and a beautiful lake.

It is a very peaceful place which I highly recommend. Warden in the camping site was very friendly and helpful. In out case he even lent us an inflatable mattress as ours got damaged. We are planning to go back another time

Been to Clumber Park for the day many times, as it is a beautiful location all year round. I've camped two times now as well. Once in a Pod and once in a tent and wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

My girlfriend has never camped before, so decided to ease her in gently and stayed in a Pod. As a keen camper myself I wasn't sure how I'd feel about this 'glamping' but I really enjoyed it. The Pods are spacious, clean and it never hurts to have a roof over your head when it's raining! The Pods are in their own little section just off the main field near the toilets and reception.

Then in August we went back and stayed under canvas. The site offers a small shop, and the toilets are basic but clean, the real beauty of this site is fantastic location. And it was perfect for my girlfriend as a first time camper.

Stayed here in twice in 2 months, we loved it that much.

The site is a large field, never crowded, with a tiny shop and two portakbins for loos / showers, but don't let they put you off, they are clean and have hot water!

It is reasonably level, has no caravans or campervans on it and the staff are really friendly.

There is a separate washing up area.

The walks and bike rides around Clumber are brilliant, and we will certainly be back.

Just returned from a 2 night stay on this campsite. No problems booking in with the friendly wardens and choosing a pitch for our tent. The pitches were spacious enough for our 5 man tent and car, without feeling cramped up to other campers.

There were drinking water taps around the field, so no-one had to go too far to fill their kettle. The toilet and free shower facilities were always warm and clean, with plenty of hot water, even though they were only in portable cabins, with 3 of each showers, toilets and basins.

There was even a free hair dryer in the ladies. The washing up facilities were adequate for what we needed, again with plenty of hot water.

The site is brilliant if you like walking or cycling, with miles of trails around the park and lake. The thing that really impressed me about this site though, was that everyone adhered to the 'quiet time' between 10pm and 7am meaning that we all got a good nights sleep!

Really nice site that we'll definitely go back to, hopefully when the weather is better!

Fabulous little site in beautiful and safe surrounds. This site is situated in the centre of clumber park, just 5/10 mins walk from the main visitor facilities, play park, cafe and bike hire.

If you like simply exploring and spending time outdoors this is for you. Once you arrive you can easily have a quiet short break with no need to get back in your car. Great for young families.

The staff were really helpful, facilities were simple but always clean and outdoor games could be borrowed from the small on-site store.

Only downside is that there is a BBQ field for anyone to use next door - we had some youths park up and party in the sun for the afternoon. But they were generally well behaved and were moved on by security once it was time for the site to settle for the evening.

Will definitely be going again.

We met friends here for the bank holiday weekend in May 2012, I have to say we were very impressed, the drive through the Nation Trust site was lovely and really had us in high spirits upon our arrival.

The warden met us at the gate to escort us to the pitch which was situated in the middle of the field, well spaced out from anyone else and with a lovely view which ever way we wanted to pitch.

Site facilities were very clean at all times and not too busy, the staff maintained all areas very well and were extremely helpful (even sorted out our gas bottle after we discovered we had brought the wrong adaptor!).

For entertainment there are giant connect 4 and jenga which we had some fun with, and also a volleyball net.

The surrounding areas are beautiful and worth exploring (even at midnight), the log play area was a big hit with the kids (and adults). There are no shops in the immediate vicinity we had to drive out to worksop to the supermarket but it was only 20 mins away, however when the gate closed from one direction we struggled to find our way back in and got lost and had to follow people going to the nearby Caravan site and find our way from there! Could be better site posted!

The site also undulates rather badly, we were unfortunate enough to have torrential rain which exaggerated this issue leaving many people under water and had to pack up and leave. We stuck it out and enjoyed the water bed effect the undulation provided. Its was just unlucky weather I guess but the uneven site put paid to some folks weekend.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the venue, the location is superb, facilities excellent, the wardens are a credit to the site and it would take more than rain to dampen our spirits. So we booked back up for next year and hope to bring more friends with us, this time I will put direction signs up though!

Absolutely lovely site, we will be back next year. Loads to do and we didn't need to drive anywhere if we didn't want to. Based on the National Trust site this allows access into the park, walks, play areas etc. You can do as much or as little as you like. We went on a walk with the 5 kids in tow, age 5 to 16, 3 hours later we made it back, climbing trees, running through the woods and cycling if you want to as well. Great place to go and luckily we had good weather too. Wardens are very helpful and there is a small shop on site if you need anything. Toilets clean, showers lovely and hot. Has washing up area - was a bit dark in there though by the time we got around to washing up. Great family friendly site.
