We stayed for 2 nights in July and had a fantastic weekend - we didn't want to leave.
The people that ran the site were very friendly and helpful and allowed people to freeze their ice packs in the office freezer.
The portable cabin toilets and showers were clean and despite the site being full we never had to queue.
We have an 11 year old and he had a great time making friends and playing games on the field at the bottom of the site.
Clumber Park is a beautiful place to visit and the visitor attractions are only minutes walk from the site.
We were allowed to have bbq's as long as they were raised off the ground. The site requests that noise be kept to a minimum from 10pm until 7am which was adhered too.
We will definitely be visiting again.

Had wonderful weekend here - helped by perfect weather. Very good value when you think it includes access to the park's facilities and discounts in the cafes and shops.
The showers and toilets were brilliant and kept clean. The wardens were very helpful and even gave us some ketchup which we had forgotten to bring.
Tiny niggle was that the field was slightly lumpy, and the pedestrian gate to the park gives out onto quite a busy road, but these are small things really - this is a brilliant site and we hope it becomes a permanent fixture at clumber

Just spent 2 nights at the site with family.
Luckily we got there early Friday as the pitches are not marked out or numbered. We had the choice of where to pitch as the camp site was empty. The warden was very helpful and let us reserve the next pitch to ours for when family arrived.
The site is quite bumpy, as though its been a ploughed field at some point at never levelled out properly, so be careful where you pitch.
Shower/toilet blocks where kept very clean all the time. Even with a full site never had to wait too long. A good sized field adjoining means there's plenty of space for ball games/dog walking etc without having to disturb other campers. And there's always the rest of Clumber Park!
The biggest negative is the price. I think that £20pn is a lot for a basic pitch with no electric hook up. I suppose the justification for this is the location being in the centre of Clumber Park.
But I'd still go back.

Had a 3 night stay here during the first week of the school summer holidays:
Positives:
Well located site right in the heart of Clumber Park, so cycle trails and walks right at the camp site entrance.
Well organised reception and entrance and access systems, with both code and card for the park barriers.
Personally happy with the facilities, very clean and new portacabin which was kept nicely.
Wardens helpful and friendly, and requested that tents were well spaced out.
Enjoyed days trips to The Workhouse at Southwell - really enjoyable, Hardwick Hall, and Cresswell Crags - free!
Negatives:
Only one really, and I'm sure this was because it was a sunny school holiday week, but
Alot of children! Mainly well-behaved, but the sheer amount of cricket, football and cycling going on meant that at times it was like camping in a playground, lots of shouting and squealing too.
Pre-plan a meal out. We tried the Clumber Park Hotel, but found it expensive and only one vegetarian option was available so we decided to venture in to Worksop.
This has to be the culinary wasteland of England. All we could find in the town centre were burger and kebab places. I asked a local who said that there weren't any cafe's or restaurants in the town apart from one Indian which she thought was shut - it was Tuesday 8pm! Anyways we found the Indian and it was open, very good food also, it's called Jhinook on Ryton Street.
Think the one price one pitch price system has advantages for larger families, but for one adult/1 child it worked out very expensive at £20 per night.
Overall we had a really nice break, and the site was good. Would return term time, to try and avoid so many children. If you've got kids then they will love it

Just returned from a two night stay at Clumber Park. The campsite was quite busy but there was enough space between pitches.
The campsite is in an ideal location near all the main visitor facilities. The wooded play area is particularly good, and my son enjoyed exploring all the woodland within the park. The Discovery Centre within the park was a nice touch.
The wardens were very helpful during our stay and monitored the noise level at night. The toilet block and showers were very clean during our stay and the washing up facilities were adequate. A great place to visit and we intend to go back soon.

Two nights at this new site was not enough and so we are returning for the August bank holiday.
The pitches were spacious and level. The Toilet facilities were very clean and the location could not be better. There was a Steam fair going on in the park, and whilst we are not enthusiasts it made for a nice day out.
Ideal camp site if attending any of the events such as concerts etc. The site wardens are a lovely couple, very friendly and welcoming.
This site is on a trial basis so I would urge you to go and experience serenity, since it may not be there next year.

We have just returned from a fab 1 night stay.
Check in was quick & easy, and we were given the choice of 2 pitches. Our pitch was level & spacious, and the others looked the same.
There are several water points around the field. The showers and toilets are in a portable cabin, which were always clean. Can't comment on the actual showers as didn't use. There is also 2 pot washing sinks under a gazebo. You can also use the freezer in the reception cabin to refreeze your ice blocks.
There isn't an actual chidrens park on the tent field but there is lots of room for children to run around and play.
The main visitors centre of Clumber Park is a couple of minutes walk away, where there's lots to do.
At first I thought £20 a night was a little steep for a basic site (there's no shop or electric hook up), but we had a fab time and will definitely pay that again to stay there.

Just returned from a couple of nights at this fabulous site and would definitely return.
Only recently opened and they are trying really hard to make it a success.
As previous poster said this is a trail year and we were issued with a questionnaire to fill in when we left that said if it was a success they will build a permanent utility block for next year.
The site is smack bang in the centre of Clumber Park and about 10 minutes walk to the visitor centre.
The site holds about 25 tents. There were 19 on our last night and there was plenty of space.
Toilets and showers in a portable cabin, but plenty of hot water, 3 showers in each (I never had to wait) and clean.
Covered washing up facilities and taps and fire points in field. No electricity.
There is a freezer to freeze blocks in the wardens office, but no shop (i suppose you could sneak to the caravan club one), but local shops are only a 10 minute drive away.
Fantastic site in a brilliant location

Really nice new site. 2011 is still a trial year, it is a very basic site no shop just a field with showers and toilets in a new looking portable cabin that is kept clean by the friendly wardens,
The field is a little uneven looks like it was originally a ploughed field so you have to pick your spot.
The price of a 20 pound a night in April was a little high for such a basic site otherwise all ok. My 6 yr old cried when we left as he wanted to stop. We would return
