We rocked up at Penrose Farm at the beginning of July. Entrance is via a long, narrow farm-track. If you are towing (as I was) you'd better be well versed at reversing your rig as you might meet an artic-lorry coming the other way! (These collect the potatoes from the farm and deliver them to the Walker's Crisps factory in the Midlands).
You can book ahead for your stay or just turn up and pitch whereupon Lisa, the warden (lovely lady) will catch up with you when she does her rounds.
This site is what I'd call old-school i. E. A farm-site with fairly basic (but good) facilities. There are decent showers, toilets obviously, and a washing up area. There's also an outside shower which was ideal for washing Angel, my dog! There's no electric but that didn't bother me as I have gas lights/stove + there is a freezer which you can use for freezing ice-blocks.
The site is very close to the sea with good views. Porthleven is within an easy walk of the site. Loe Bar beach can be walked to as well. Porthleven beach is no dogs but they can go on Loe Bar beach. Do not swim off this beach however as there is a vicious under-tow. You've been warned! This beach is good for fishing though.
I loved this site and will definitely be returning another time. Thanks to Lisa and Martin for a lovely stay :-)

A fantastic site-we only got back from there this evening but felt compelled to leave a review. Yes the facilities are basic (3 toilets & 2 showers) but Lisa & Martin keep them spotless. The views are amazing, Porthleven is a lovely town and if you want camping as it should be: pitch where you want, affordable, no rules, very friendly owners & best of all camp fires, then you should pitch up here! Some wonderful beaches near by and lots of other attractions-it's a great base and is also dog friendly.

The views from this site are amazing, and the fishing village of Porthleven (which is only a short walk away) is picturesque.
The facilities are basic, but if you do not mind this (which we do not)you will love it.
The pitch sizes are very large and you can basically choose where you would like to pitch.
Martin (owner) and his family are friendly and willing to help, and I am sure Martin will oblige if you want a new potato or two with your bbq of an evening.
So if you like lots of good walks, pubs, and amazing views then you will no doubt love this site.
