This is a great campsite with amazing views and excellent, basic, clean facilities.
The staff were friendly, helpful and available and left you to get on with your holiday in peace.
On August bank holiday weekend it was very spaced out with plenty of room for everyone so, even with some large family groups on site, our spot was quiet and peaceful.
The walking from the site was great too with easy access to the coast, inland and Porthleven.
The latter is a great village with a choice of takeaways, pubs and restaurants and plenty of people watching.

Maybe it was because it was boiling hot and I love Cornwall anyway but I think this is one of the most wonderful sites I have ever stayed in and we have been to over 100 now I would think.
2 fields and the view of the bay is just stunning. Lovely walks into Porthleven via the Loe Bar.
Toilets and showers were spot on, such good value for money, I loved it.
Nothing especial for kids but plenty of space in the fields.

We had a great 7 nights camping at this site. Showers and toilets (plenty of) were clean and cleaned regularly. Showers had constant hot water and the toilets had anti bac sprays to use before and after. Washing up facilities and chemical toilet disposal.
Basically this place had all we needed with great views. There is a Lidl and Tesco 5/10 mins drive in Helston for all you need. Campfires And Bbq are allowed so no problem.
Porthleven is a15/20 min walk along the coast which is lovely.
This is a basic site with no shop or reception but who needs that as plenty of signs around with contact details of the owners should you have a query.
Great value for money £16 per night per couple.

What an amazing campsite.
Great toilets and shower which were cleaned very regularly.
Lots of space not hemmed in.
Need to be comfortable without electric hook up or laundry.
Would thoroughly recommend the site and will surely be back. Around 10-15 mins walk to Porthleven.
Laundromat just up the road in Helston.

Great place to stay. Love the views. Best kind of camping. Warm welcome. Love you choose where you want. No allocated pitch.
Good facilities which were cleaned several times a day.

Loved this campsite. Great location. Just a short (scenic) walk down to Porthleven. We arrived on a sunny Sunday and there was a little market in the harbour.
It was lovely to sit outside the pub and watch the world go by. The camp site itself, is made up of 2 large fields. Very spacious.
The facilities were clean. Plenty of showers but probably could of done with a couple more toilets (although I never waited more than a few minutes). We were there for a couple of nights before a very friendly girl came and took our money (and stayed for a little chat).
Would definitely return. This is not a posh site but exactly what I enjoy about camping. Great location and plenty of space.

This site is n excellent location - a short walk in to Porthleven (a lovely town with lots of good restaurants, a nice pub, and excellent local supremarket), Praa Sands, and easy to get further afield to Lizard and most of Cornwall.
The site is basic, just farming fields opened up for camping certain times of the year, and sea views are obstructed by hedges around farming fields. Good size site though and didn't feel crowded even when full.
The toilet and shower facilities are good, though if you're in the second field it's a bit of a trek - putting the units between the field would make more sense.
Electrical connections and freezers available in old unused barn building adjacent to the field - unsecured so didn't feel trusting enough to leave a laptop there.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Price does reflect the simple site though, as it was very cheap and no real negatives.
I would take your own fire pit though - the ones available were old wheels and didn't work well as fire pits.

Just back from a lovely few days at Penrose. The facilities are basic but more than adequate.
It was our kind of camping with no marked pitching and a very relaxed laid back approach!
We left 3 nights early though due to gales and the field being very open!
Shall be returning!

Lovely quiet site - very well maintained, all pitches level with plenty of space between them.
Had a lovely two weeks here. Would definitely use the site again when in Cornwall.
Location was good - not far from Perranporth where there are plenty of takeaways & a lovely beach.
Would definitely recommend the site.
