If you like a camping site with oodles of space, BASIC clean facilities with HOT water, then this is for you.
Very quiet off peak with loads of space even when busy. Large formal pitch elec hook ups in 2 fields, all have the best of the evening sun, informal pitching for tents etc within the rest of the huge camping fields.
Laundry 20p onwards for tumble & around £2.50 for wash machines. Ice pack changing peak season, have not asked if they would off peak as we live local & pop home if need be.
We have been regular visitors for many years now & don't really have any problems with Beaper. Nowhere is perfect & if I owned Beaper all I would change is updating the shower & loo blocks and put in a dog wash.
There is a toilet block in the top field which has a hot water tap in the ladies, where you can fill water containers for washing up at your unit. (saves the trek)
Showers if you go in the afternoon, before the masses get home, you can shower in peace. A god send with 3 kids.
A FANTASTIC BASIC site good value & really lovely owners, whom we now know on first name terms. We have made friends with campers who visit regularly for years too.

Beaper Farm is a lovely site for families. The park is great for kids. The park is really family and dog friendly, but I do agree the park needs another shower block. We stayed in the middle field and chose to drive over to the shower block as it was a bit of a trek in the mornings with 2 children and all of the necessities.
Also the washing up area was by the shower blocks and again was not very handy for just washing a few bits up. We chose to drive over wash up and then have a shower. Apart from that the campsite is excellent.

Laid back, friendly site. Lots of space, even for electric hook ups. Lovely playground. Toilets clean and laundry facilities fine (but only one tumble drier so often queue). Showers need some attention - always hot and no queues at all but separate from the toilets and very little room when showering with children. Shop only open 2 hours a day but very cheap and cheerful when open.
Would recommend and we would use again as good value.

Have just returned from a 10 day holiday to Beaper Farm. Feel totally relaxed after a true camping holiday. No noisy bar or entertainment just good old fashioned level fields and peace and quiet. Lovely large pitches on the hook up spaces, no squashing in. The site was busy but didn't feel so.
Just a couple of points. Many problems with showers although we didn't encounter many simply because we were on site early afternoon and so were able to get in first so to speak. However 12 showers on a site of this size is really not sufficient. Unfortunately as well due to the close proximity of Tesco there was not a very big shop on site which is a shame for the local traders. However the lady in there was a very useful tourist information guide! All were very pleasant and helpful and couldn't do enough for you.
All in all a very pleasant and thoroughly relaxing stay. One word about the ferry crossings. Wightlink couldn't do enough for us. Early in Portsmouth for the outward journey and slotted nicely into an earlier crossing and likewise the return journey from Fishbourne - phoned and changed booking to a day earlier and they still managed to get us on an earlier crossing - and so pleasant with it.

Oh Beaper Farm! It's my home County and I hate to give negative feedback but you have left me with no choice!
The site itself is fine, sloping quite a lot in places but fine. There are 3 fields for camping with hook ups in the middle of 2. In the first field there is a shower and toilet block. The loos are fairly modern and up to the job but the showers are dreadful. 12 showers in total for the whole site. Had to queue on several occasions (even late at night).
The second field has loos for male and female but no shower block and the third field which is really just an annexe of field 2 has no facilities.
There is so much potential that doesn't appear to have been tapped into. It could be fabulous. Come on Beaper Farm - spend some money on the site!

Perfect for a quiet holiday on the Isle of Wight with no club house type of thing but good facilities and good location for visiting Sandown / Shanklin / Ryde.
Three camping fields. The ‘bottom’ field is the smallest and reserved for club rallies. The ‘middle’ field is very large, level, surrounded by trees, with a toilet block in one corner. The pitching regime is informal and there is room for the largest tents. The ‘top’ field is a little smaller, but again level and has ample room for the largest tents, and its own toilet block. This is my favourite, surrounded by trees, somehow has a real cozy ‘away from it all’ feel. For me, camping / caravanning at its best!
The w.C. / shower (20p token) blocks, whilst not the most modern, were clean; well decorated and well maintained.
Dog walking area is a lovely meadow, nice place to go even if you do not have a dog!
Extremely good value at £5 / person / night; or £6 / person / night with ehu. (£6.50 / £7.50 in the school summer holiday period.)
The nearest beaches are at St Helens & Bembridge. There are plenty of family oriented eating places in the locality, but I feel I must give a special mention to the Yarbridge Inn, Brading. (CAMRA IOW Pub of the Year 2006, 2007, 2008, good food too.)
We’ve visited the IOW several times now, just a few general notes on the ferries. 1) We found that there is no need to worry if you are early or late for your booked crossing. Our experience is that as long as you have a valid ticket, they will get you on the first crossing with available space 2) We found Red Funnel consistently cheaper than Wight Link. 3) Check the inclusive Ferry / Camping packages offered by Red Funnel on their website. 4) Check the inclusive Ferry / Camping packages offered by many sites. 5) Red Funnel accepts Tesco vouchers on a 4x face value basis.

Just returned from a Bank Holiday's camping at Beaper Farm. We were in a group with two other families so the ability to pitch where we wanted (though some fields were not yet open, presumably they will be later in the season) was great. Bit of a slope in places but not too bad.
Shop not open - again probably would be in high season. Only two washing up sinks for the whole site. Toilets OK, clean enough but a bit smelly. Some cubicles marked as 'Not in operation'. Same in the shower block again only 3 out of 6 in operation. Shower block had been given a lick of paint (you could still smell it) but the overall impression was of facilities that have not been maintained very well.
Long way to toilets from further parts of the site when second block not open. Road is noisy as site is close to a long downhill straight that motorists and motorcyclists seems to want to hare down !
No recycling facilities for rubbish.
Pluses: Lots of space, especially for children.
Friendly owners. Lovely setting. Good play area. Tesco's close.
Ryde very close and not far to plenty of beautiful countryside and lovely beaches.

We met up with the IOW DA of the C and CC for a two week stay.
First week we were running on battery and gas.
Second week EHU.
In a few words it was great.
Lovely site, good facilities and reasonably priced.
Pros. Locate very close to the tescos.
Showers and washing facilities excellent.
Toilets good and clean.
Site well looked after.
Views of the south eastern part of the IOW.
Could cycle to the sea if you wanted.
It's on the Isle of Wight, only eclipsed in my heart by my birthplace.
Cons. Watch what times you travel on the ferry.
Road can be noisy but as with all these things you block it out.
If you are considering the Wight (and if I were you I'd book soon as it will book solid this year methinks) then consider Beaper.

This lovely campsite is based just off the A3055 between Ryde and Brading. Despite being next to the road this campsite is very quiet. After my second visit I thought it was about time I reviewed it.
There are many well sheltered pitches with the only regimental pitches being for power hook up. There are plenty of surrounding fields to exercise your dogs and despite its close proximity to Ryde it feels very rural.
I looked at a few other campsites on my travels on the island and all of the ones I saw seemed to either be hemmed in, exposed or loads of draconian rules and regulations complete with snotty attitude Mini-Hitler to enforce them. At Beaper Farm you book in at reception and then you are left to get on with camping and enjoying yourself. No wardens checking your tickets all the time, you are left alone unless of course you request help.
The owners are friendly and very helpful. My friend managed to burn himself quite seriously with hot fat on the first night and had to go to hospital in an ambulance. The owners were there concerned at what had happened and reassured me that if there was anything at all they could do to help then go knock at the house. I also managed to run out of fuel and was lent some petrol to get the car started. I am mentioning all this as I think this really says a lot for the ethos of this campsite, it shows that they care.
The shower blocks are clean with 5 token operated showers. Hot water whatever time of day I had a shower and with the 20p token you can shower for ages! Also sinks with free hot water. Separate toilet block also clean and plenty of toilets and more sinks!
A lot of people have mentioned the huge Tesco in Ryde. Yes, its convenient, I had a few essentials from there myself. But I would appeal to anyone visiting Wight (or indeed anywhere) to sample the local meats, dairy and vegetable produce. There is an excellent farm shop in Arreton about 6 miles away - I had some amazing lamb chops, sausages & cheese! And for all you fellow scrumpy lovers there is a cider shop in Godshill which sell lovely cider amongst lots of other goodies & produce. There are many more farm shops scattered around who sell at reasonable prices.
If you are looking for a nice quiet, reasonably flat campsite with friendly caring staff at a very reasonable price, this is for you.
