We were last here when it was called Henrys Lake. Since then a lot of excellent improvements have taken place. Due to covid restrictions the facilities were not in use but they have been moved into a converted area of one of the barns.

Time has also been spent on the lake which has been dredged, 10tonnes of silt removed and its been restocked. Fishing here is about patience, but there are rewards with excellent fish.

The rest of the site remains peaceful and ideally sited in the middle of the countryside for a lovely quiet few days away. Definitely going to be back

Best site we have been to in suffolk

Went just after lockdown ended the site was well laid out, very clean, good size pitches. Nice lake.

The family were lovely people they did every thing they could to make our stay one of the best we have had in 30 yrs of camping.

We can't thank them enough and when this pandemic is over we hope to visit again

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at this peaceful very well kept camp site. My partner spent all day sat.

Fishing whilst I was able to sit and read and walk in between making breakfast / lunch and drinks !

Will definitely visit again.

The young man who greeted us was extremely pleasant and helpful !

Well recommended !

A lovely little site. Couldn’t recommend this campsite more.

The site was quiet and each pitch felt very private. The toilet and shower facilities were very clean.

Overall a great time spent on the site.

Very nice site pitch size was more than plenty with nice open views,

Showers on coin meter but plenty of water for 20p,

Great place to chill out, new owners have worked really hard and are creating a great site.

A couple of suggestions that may help would be to have some lights in the field to aid campers at night going to toilet block, the steps into showers were high and my wife has mobility problems so entering shower block was difficult, it may be advisable to have a couple of life belts around the lake.

None of this is a criticism and we will be back for certain and maybe try out the fishing

Lovely location in the midst of farmland, looking onto an old airfield with a gliding club. There is a small fishing lake and most people who stayed used this. Friendly welcome from Jane and her daughter. Just a note - they only take cash, so make sure that you have enough on you.

It's a small site with only 12 pitches, about half of which have hook-up.

The washing facilities are very swish - two well-appointed shower rooms, complete with toilet and hand basin as well as a huge walk-in shower. Showers are on a coin meter

We were able to walk the dog off the lead on the airfield, which was a US base during WW2. At quiet times (when no one fishing) we also walked her round the lake. Local footpaths don't seem to be much used and, in high summer, were very overgrown.

There is a shop in the nearby village (not walking distance), otherwise, Stowmarket has a few supermarkets and some other little shops. We couldn't find a tourist office, though, despite asking a number of people. Bury St Edmunds isn't too far away and has a large shopping centre with all the usual outlets. We found our sat-nav invaluable, as there are so many little lanes!

One or two things we didn't like -

1. Not enough loos. The two mentioned above were the only ones and if someone was having a shower, you were stuck.

2. There were sinks for washing up, but we didn't see any laundry facilities - although, we didn't look for them either!

3. No internet (even 4g) or telephone signal. To be fair, this was the case for most of the area.

4. The site is very exposed and therefore windy. Again, to be fair, it was particularly windy while we were there. However, there is an embryo hedge, so in the future there will be a bit of a wind break.

This is our 2nd visit to this site.

It is such a lovely peaceful Adult only campsite.

The lake is great for fishing and the toilet and showers are exceptional.

Nothing is to much trouble for the owners who are very friendly and helpful.

The location is excellent amongst beautiful scenery and close to the

Picturesque village of Lavenham and close to Bury St Edmonds.

There is a small local shop near by and plenty of good pubs to eat within a few minutes drive.

We would highly recommend it and hope to return soon.

What a beautiful place! Just what we wanted with the grounds very well maintained, a picturesque fishing lake, and very peaceful.

The new owners are clearly very enthusiastic about making improvements. They provided all the help we needed and we wished we could stay longer.

This was our first visit to the site and we will definitely be coming back. The new owners are lovely friendly people and very welcoming.

The site is very well maintained in a beautiful peaceful setting with a lovely fishing lake. We really enjoyed our stay and We definitely recommend this site.

The only down side is just 1 toilet and 1 shower although they were extremely clean, but the owners said they will be improving this in the near future.
