We spent the first weekend following lifting of COVID lockdown here. The reviews of the campsite on this forum give a good description of the site and of what to expect.
Main comment -- we felt we were massively overcharged - prices were not advertised on the website. I wonder what others paid? Clearly there is enough demand for camping this year that people are willing to pay what ever is asked.
Other occupants of the campsites were broadly split into young families and groups of younger adults (surfers). The atmosphere was friendly, but the site was noisy, particularly from other people's music systems, and traffic noise from the nearby A road.
The site feels 'relaxed' - great for those wanting to party into the small hours & not be bound by the rules and regulations that are often heavy-handedly applied at other sites. It did feel that there were a lot of people crammed into a relatively small space. There was a lot of rubbish piled up overflowing the bins.
The site is mostly sloping.
Facilities were basic (as described by other reviewers) but were clean. The showers were excellent. Lots of hot running water. Washing up facility inadequate - one small sink for the whole site.
We had a reasonable stay here but I wouldn't return or recommend this site to others.

Great little site, quite basic but clean. Friendly owners.
Farm shop /cafe next door. Pub 5 minutes walk away.
Tarmac cycle track leads into outskirts of Scarborough.
Nearby cliff walk links Scarborough and Filey.

We stayed here for two nights just after Christmas in the bell tent with a hot tub.
Positives- lovely host, Rebecca, she made us feel at home. Her chilli and egg and sausage sandwiches were lovely, she even brought them to our tent at times that suited us, much appreciated in the winter and I would recommend people paying for her meals. The location was perfect for visiting Filey and Scarborough. The views from the hot tub where amazing.
Negatives- The shower block was not the best, a bit dated and unisex which some people might not feel comfortable with. Also, the bell tent was extremely cold, to the point where we had to buy a fan heater the next day. The hot tub also did not seem to keep its temperature, it dropped 4 degrees within an hour! Maybe a wooden shelter would help with this, especially in the colder months. Either that or there was a problem with it.
Enjoyed our stay, can see Rebecca making this into a big success!

Slightly sloped site with hard standings,
The lady owner couldn't have been more helpful and obliging, a lovely lady,
Basic but very functional facilities,
We shall most definitely be returning to this site, hopefully for more than one night, and soon

Stayed 3 nights with our grandson (4yrs).
Positives. Great location able to ride bike safely, off road to beach, locked it up at carpark cos descent to beach steep. Brilliant beach.
Clean toilets, hot water. Rebecca is a lovely person.
Negatives, I wasn't tempted to use the showers, wooden interior felt bit grim. Definitely need updating. (surprising that shared facilities allowed these days).
Felt it was overpriced.
Hope Rebecca is successful in fulfilling her dream, she deserves it.

The campsite is well situated for trips to Scarborough and Filey, or Whitby and Bridlington if you prefer a drive around. Filey is a good hours walk along the road and around 2 hours along the cliff tops (nice views and very scenic).
Rebecca was very welcoming and very busy, cleaning and preparing the site but always had a smile and would be happy to chat or help with anything.
I suppose the only issue we had was the shared toilet and shower facilities. I can understand women being a little un-nerved by them and if we had small children I don't think we would want them to use them alone, but they were clean and I knew what they were made of before I booked.
We did mention them to Rebecca and she did understand they were not ideal but is unable to get planning permission for a brick structure. She was receptive to modifying them though, so women and children could be segregated from the males facilities (one for the future maybe).
Overall we were very happy with the site and what it and the area has to offer and we were not put off by the facilities - we would definitely go again.

Rebecca was very welcoming and informative of the local area and made us feel at home.
It is a nice quiet campsite, about 20 min walk to Cayton Bay and for liquid refreshment 5 min to the Plough Inn.
Usually we would not use the ablutions but our water pump threw a wobbly and found us using the facilities which are basic and serves the purpose they are designed for.
Unfortunately I found then a little tight and made from OSB didn’t look too appealing. Would have been happy if I was charged £15 per night but £26 was a bit expensive I thought.

Rebecca's little gem of a site has some mixed reviews. I'd encourage anyone with half a head of common sense to disregard any that aren't positive.
Couldn't have had a better experience booking the Glamping tent with hot tub, fire pit and even breakfast!
A last minute call and everything fell into place due to Rebecca's "can do" attitude! Really enjoyed the site, and her passion for what shes trying to achieve with the little plot shes has. Tirelessly running around keeping things clean and ticking over almost made us feel guilty.
We needed somewhere to get away for 24hrs on a very special occasion, This little site was a dream come true. In no small part to Rebecca's hard work. We'll be back here together and with friends as soon as possible.
Thank you so much!
A&C xx

We stayed here for 4 nights booked with Rebecca by text. Last minute thing again for us. We have been going to this site for many years with our 3 girls from when it just had a loo we have seen it change over the years from. Camping to glamping with a hot tub on site now and showers ! We stayed in the bell tent with beds and everything you could need in there.
Rebecca also put 2windbreakers round the hot tub so it was nice and private for my 3 girls the price was would you would expect to pay for 4 nights camping with a hot tub for a family of 5. There is a road that you can see but can’t really hear the noise.
The showers are hot and tidy and clean. Fab view from the tent of the hills cayton beach is 20 minutes walk down a hill not a problem even with 3 kids ! Filey 2 mile walk or 5 minutes in the car Whitby 45 minutes in car too also a pub just down the road from the site with lovely food and a play area for kids and across from the pub a shop and petrol station.
I love this site and Rebecca has done a really good job of making it from a basic site to a holiday gem she’s very helpful and always comes out in the morning to speak to everybody on site
Also site is very safe for small children to play without the worry of them going anywhere as there is a gate at the bottom of the site
Beautiful site , will be back again next year

This is a quiet, small relaxing site, the owner is very welcoming and accommodating and will help with anything she can. It away from main roads so is safe for children.
Dogs are allowed on a lead.
The facilities are clean and basic, and there is always hot showers. There is a small pot washing area
There is a great walk to the beach with a steep short walk onto the beach. It takes about 20 mins to walk to the beach.
Overall we love this site and have been there twice this year and quite a few times last year, my children love it here and really have a great time.
