Lovely site and perfect surroundings with a huge open park behind to walk around. Play park on site with fully equipped play park next to it with equipment to suit baby to teen. Site very clean and friendly with on site entertainment. Only downside was that the water pressure for showers was low. Would have also been nice to have a family wash room or bath for the kids.
Local shop is about 1 mile walk into Laleham and is open 7 - 7pm
Other than that would definitely recommend

We stayed here for the bank holiday weekend which turned out to be a featured night with blues tribute band with disco which we were not informed about when we booked. When we arrived we were given a list of club rules and regulations which you were asked to stick to or asked to leave. One of the rules was no noise after 11.30pm - on the featured night the music went on till after 12.30 am, with young children this was not appreciated. On the second night teenagers were still running around at 11.30pm plus after the quiz. The parking facilities are a free for all not enough spaces when site is busy had to use pay and display of site. The main gate is looked between 10pm-8am (to stop cars entering and leaving site )The park on site was good had large sand pit .Toilets and showers were tired looking toilet door locks broken. Would find it difficult showering young children due to having to hold shower continuously on. Washing up facilities were good but not always tidy was a smell of mould in room.

We camped at this campsite for the weekend. We camped right near the shower blocks which was good but at night there was little gangs of kids gathered in and around the toilets til early hours in the morning making loads of noise. They have a lot of permanent residents there, we didn't like the fact that the rules said there was to be no noise after 11pm yet the residents there were allowed to throw a big hog roast party till early hours with loud music. The toilet and shower blocks are clean and the water is hot. The nearest pub is about a mile down a very dark road and there was not much in the way of takeaways although at the pubs they cooked hot food. The pitches are spacious but you cant park your car by the tent and a lot of the time there is no space in the car park. You could not go out in the car past 10pm as the gate was locked between 10pm and 8am so if you wanted to go to the pub in the evenings then you had to walk down the dark road, the staff were friendly and helpful

Lovely spot by the Thames. The site (after un-hitching) is 'no cars', which I thought to be a good thing. However, it transpires that with no parking spaces the pitches are much smaller than usual and you camp so close to your neighbours that privacy is compromised.
After one visit to the loo block, we opted to use the facilities in our caravan instead. There are excellent play facilities for children just outside the campsite which we took our youngsters to; the campsite's park was dominated (from early morning until far too late at night) by large numbers of unsupervised children.
Members seem to all know each other and enjoy themselves at Laleham, but we will not be joining them again.

We stayed here for 2 nights as it was close to Twickenham stadium - which is where we were going for a concert. The pitches on site were all level some had extra protection from the surrounding trees. The toilet block is central to the whole park and is reasonable - not kept as clean as I would have liked but for the price we paid (£12 per night) I couldn't complain too much. The site is run by its members on a voluntary basis and there are quite a lot of member tents that are up all yar round, although the weekend we stayed we did not see many of them occupied (that could be because of the weather forcast - Very strong wind and rain). There is a childrens park/play area in the centre of the park also, however this is not supervised in any way. One thing that was a point to note - you cannot keep your vehicle next to the tent only for packing and unpacking - there is a free car park adjacent to the site but this has no security at all apart from being lit (well almost). The site does not have a shop. There are washing facilities and a laundry room (coin operated) and the showers are free.
The location of the site is nice though, there is a lovely walk along the Thames. The village itself does not have a great deal there, an off-licence which was never open and 2 pubs, but nothing more within an easy walk.
The site is on Heathrow's flight path although I did not find that a problem. The site does have a few quirks as people call them although the amount of noisy children isn't one of them - rules and regulations of the site are enforced by the members, some of which can be a little abrupt, rude almost. It's as if they don't want the touring pitches on their site ?
On the whole the site was adequate for my needs.

Laleham Campsite overall is nice, the regulars are fairly friendly, the site is well maintained and there is a playground which is a bit jaded but it is well used. It's a 15 minute walk from either the Kingfisher Pub by the bridge leading into Chertsey which is a chain pub but don't let that put you off, the food is great, it's delivered to the table quickly which is essential when you have Children with you as we did. The park next door is nice, although we drove to Virginia Waters, approx 8 miles away and walked there too - well worth the visit. Sainsburys is a 10 minute drive away in Chertsey which is very handy as there are no shopping facilities onsite Unfortunately this campsite with it's beautiful surroundings has a few problems: 1. It became apparent that every Friday & Saturday night (which was confirmed by one of the regular campers), hoards of boy racers drive into the public car park next door from 9pm onwards until the early hours, skidding up and down, wheel spinning etc. 2. The camp is on the flight path to Heathrow which doesn't become a problem until 8pm ish when they seem to fly lower or perhaps there is less general noise, however, the noise generated by the planes interferes with conversation and prevents you from actually hearing what Friends are saying. It's rather like a comedy watching someones mouth move but nothing comes out. The planes fly over from 7am until 11pm. It didn't seem to bother the Children sleeping just the adults although they were unusually tired over the following days. 3. The gate leading into the camps car park is broken, so Children can now open the gates thus not making the site as Child Friendly as it once. If you need somewhere cheap to stay if you're are going to a local attraction, I'd recommend staying here for 1 or 2 nights tops, any more than that and you will suffer from lack of sleep.

We stayed three nights and, once we accepted the site's quirks we found it very pleasant. The pitches are on level grass, some of which benefit from the shade of trees. The toilet block is central and well maintained (but I would expect nothing less these days). The play area must have been updated since a previous reviewer visited. My daughter enjoyed it and played there with other kids for hours. It may be a bit small for some kids, but there's an even better play area just outside the site.
The site is 15 minutes from Thorpe park, close to Windsor and 45 minutes from London's Waterloo by train. We bought a day pass for the train to use on the underground and had a great day travelling round London doing the sightseeing thing. The sites quirks: no cars by tents, which is a pain if you use the boot for storage like we do, but we got used to it. There is no shop for little things (apart from borrowing space in a freezer for cold blocks) and not much in the way of tourist information. However but Chertsy is 10 minutes away and Staines just a bit more. OK so kids can't ride bikes, but nobody stopped them running round and being boisterous. It's close to a bridge for a main road which was a bit noisy, and directly under the flight path for Heathrow but this wasn't as bad as you might think. Overall a very nice (and cheap) family site run by local volunteers. It's in a picturesque location and can be used as a base for visiting local attractions and even central London.

We have just returned from our holidays and would definitely recommend this site. It is very cheaply priced at £14 a night, for 2 adults including electric and has really clean shower block, laundry and dishwashing area. The site is well maintained and is mostly populated by residential tents in the centre of the pitch with tourers on the perimeter. Although there is a no bike rule, our 3 year old was able to ride his tractor on site without a telling off, but I suspect this was ok as he wasnt going very fast and I was pushing him most of the time. There is a huge park right next to the site for ball games, flying kites, riding bikes etc. Very close to Thames which is great for feeding the ducks or watching the boats go through Chertsey Lock whilst sitting in the local beer garden. Playground is in centre of site and has a good variety of equipment to play on, or there is a playground in Laleham park for bigger kids. I was a bit put off reading other reviews when I read that the rules were too strict, and you couldnt keep your car beside your tent or caravan but have since realised that it is far safer for children to play and didnt bother us as our pitch was beside the car park anyway. Very friendly family orientated site where all the kids were invited to join in the Sports Day where they could win prizes. There isnt any daily entertaimnent but there are different events organised throughout the season which makes is a really quiet site at nightime with the no noise rule. Great for Legoland, Thorpe Park & Chessington. Will definitely return

What an excellent site Laleham Park is. Being four adults with no children meant that the rules on bikes on site or ball games ban did not affect us at all. We found the staff helpful and cheerful and eager to give advice on the local area. It is also a good idea to have a seperate "free" car park for towing vehicles which maintains the lovely quiet atmosphere and improves safety. The showers and toilets were clean and well maintained and the block also had washing machines and tumble driers as well as washing up facilities. The cost for all this was also incredible, just £78 for three nights which included, for four people, electric hookup and awning. In the local area, Thorpe Park is only five miles away and Shepperton Lock has an excellent pub, on the river with good food to watch the boats go by. Two places did disappoint though. The Three Horseshoes at Laleham serves early breakfast for £2.99 but after standing at the order point for five minutes, while the staff ignored us, we walked out. For Sunday Lunch we went to The Boat House, on the river, at Chertsey. Although two of the dinners of roast beef were good, the two chicken lunches still were pink in the middle. As one of the people eating the chicken was my mother, 82, we complained and were told we would get a full refund plus free sweets and coffee. It all changed when we paid to free coffee and no charge for chicken meals. Was not impressed with managers attitude. Apart from these two incidents I would highly recommend Laleham Park to anyone touring the area. One final point for those of you, like me, using SatNav, set the address to Ferry Lane, Laleham. My Tom Tom tried to take me down a very narrow road called Abbey Drive from entering the postcode. Good Luck!

This was our second visit to Laleham, as it is very local for a short visit. Everything was as good as last time - the site is well looked after, they make it easy to book in and we were given a good pitch.
The playground is ideal and with the park next door, the kids had plenty of things to do.
I noted the comments about the site managers, but I think that they are quite strict for good reason and it keeps the site really safe. The team certainly look after the place and all the facilities were clean and working fine. Especially the hot shower!
The lights are on all night and combined with the late and early flights from Heathrow, you might have a bit of trouble if you are a light sleeper, but aside from that I can thoroughly recommend the place.
