What can one say more than has been said before. We have just had three lovely nights on this site and although there was a family gathering in the next field it didn't intrude. It seems people behave themselves and consider others here. It is a very friendly site, people talk to each other and swap stories (and a drink or two). Debbie is lovely, she even went to the supermarket to replenish our wine stocks as we stayed longer than planned.
We will return and the weather was kind which did help. It would murdre if it was very bad.

This is a 5 Van C&CC site right next to the Llangollen canal, near Ellesmere, Shropshire.
Flat field with EHU, shower on meter, 2 toilets, 1 wash basin and a sink (cold water only) situated next to the field, plus lots of information brochures in a rack.
Perfect for a quiet break, sit and watch the canal boats going by or walk along the canal to Colemere lake for a circular walk. Ideally situated for the Meres and Moses of North Shropshire, visits to Shrewsbury, Chester within half an hour driving. Lots of local walks. Great for star gazing as no light pollution.
Those with children need to be aware there is no fencing to the canal.
Owner very friendly. £13 per night including electric for 2 adults, caravan with awning.

Looked at previous views and thought yes would go to this site for the Bank Holiday weekend
Greeted by Debbie who showed us where we could put the van and then showed us where the showers toilets etc were
The views from the caravan and the surroundings were beautiful
To say it rains but it pours. Yes Debbie had one of those weekends where the shower and wash up hot water wasn't available because the electrician had let her down by not doing the wiring properly or the machinery had malfunction
Did it matter NO
To say it's a lovely site is an understatement and Debbie is really nice
Are we going back O YES and THANKYOU to Debbie

Just returned from a 2 night stay at this lovely quiet site, surrounded by fields and on the edge of the canal, that provides a lovely long walk into Ellesmere town, we stopped to have a cider at The Boathouse on the edge of the mere, which was lovely but bit pricey.
Hosts Debbie and Jimmy was very welcoming and friendly, not forgetting Lola the dog, she had a good play with our Paddy.
Toilets were basic but very clean, they do charge for any hot water, but a small price to pay for a lovely site and people.
We are all ready planning our next visit!

We visited this little site for the August bank holiday weekend staying three nights. The cost for 2 adults, 2 kids and a dog for caravan with awning and EHU was a bargain £18. 00 per night.
The site itself is basic, but had everything we needed for a short break. The toilets were clean, though the spiders in the roof did scare my 9 year old a little. You do have to pay for the shower, so we used the one in the van. You also have to pay for the hot water in the washing up area, but this was ok.
The site is stunning, set in a field that leads you down to the canal. The field does slope a little, but nothing my levelling blocks couldn't handle. A bonus for my youngest was a play area with slide, swings and climbing frame.
As has been said, the final road to the site is a little narrow, luckily we didn't meet any oncoming vehicles.
Locally is the lively town of Ellesmere and Shrewsbury is a 30min drive.
In all I'd certainly recommend this site to anybody who likes a quiet site with lots of space in a lovely area.

We spent the bank holiday here, together with our relations in their van. It was a lovely back to nature site nice and quiet. Cannot fault the site it was well worth the hair raising single track 1 mile approach. There are passing places. Be careful you don't pass the site entrance the sign could do with being a bit more prominent.
Would go again. Thanks Debbie.

We have just returned from a two night stay at the magical Ty Mawr campsite. A lovely little site where you can watch the canal boats pass you by and indulge in glorious walks and cycle rides into Ellesmere and Colemere along the canal tow path.
We received a lovely welcome from the site owner Debbie who went out of her way showing us maps and routes of the local area.
The toilet block was kept very clean and the site was maintained to a high standard.
All in all a magical experience and we were even fortunate to see the resident owl!

Just spent a long weekend at this wonderful site. What more could you want? A perfect setting with lovely views and the canal boats gliding past the bottom of the meadow. The owner was very friendly and helpful making you feel very welcome and comfortable. Plenty of walking in the area including a beautiful walk around the nearby Cole Mere or a longer walk along the canal into the pretty town of Ellesmere. Walk the other way along the canal and you can then cut up through to Welshampton where there is the Sun Inn which serves local ales and good quality home cooked food. Facilities are simple but well maintained. There is a charge of £1 for a shower and 40p for 4 minutes of hot water for washing up. Some might say that this was a little steep but with a low basic nightly site fee we thought this was fair. Certainly a site to return to some time.

We have just spent 2 lovely days at this beautiful site, only booked for 1 but so good stayed for 2. This site is tranquil, serene and most definitely will not disappoint. The canal runs along the bottom so you can watch the boats go by and there is a small park for the children to play on, kept ours entertained for hours!
We often heard the resident owl and hopefully on our next visit we may see it as others have. The toilets are clean and the shower the best we have seen so far on our visit to many sites. The owner is approachable and very friendly, nothing was too much trouble.
This is a site where people want to relax and chill out quietly while the children get back to nature rather than an electronic game! We loved it here and can not wait to return, Thank you Debbie so much
