If your looking for peace and tranquillity this is the site for you. Such a warm welcome from the owner nothing was too much trouble and she was incredibly knowledgeable about the surrounding area.
The on site facilities were basic but perfectly clean, the shower was spacious and with plenty of wonderful hot water for your £1.
Plenty of walks and bike rides to be had from the site and all fairly flat too. Lying in the tent listening to the owl at the far end of the field was magical.
Our four day stay left us chilled out and completely rested. Well done

This has to be one of the best sites that we've visited. Lots of flat level space on a field leading down to the Shropshire Union canal. We left our kayaks by the canal - no public access to the site side - and enjoyed several days exploring this lovely area from the water or just sitting watching the canal boats drift by.
We really appreciated the space and the peace and quiet and Debbie the owner was really friendly and clearly took pride in the site.
If you want lots of entertainment and noise don't come here!
Great for exploring North Shropshire as well. If someone opened a pub in the village it would achieve perfection.

A lovely quiet campsite with good, clean facilities and a playground for the children to play on. Lots of space and the canal added interest. Next time we'll take a walk along it.
The campsite is a little out of the way down a lane but not far from Ellesmere. If the campsite was busy I imagine the toilet block and washing up facilities might get crowded but it seems that this is a quiet campsite with few campers and lots of room.
The owners were very friendly and helpful, and we'll stay there again if we race in the Shropshire triathlon again.

We spent a very enjoyable weekend at this site in our caravan. The price of £12 per night including EHU was very reasonable.
The facilities are housed in a shed and comprise of 2 modern toilets and a new shower. Showers are £1 for 7 minutes and the water was hot. There are sinks for washing up which looked ok. Again there is a charge for hot water (20p I think). There is a fridge for campers to use if required.
The site has 6 EHU points. We ran a domestic kettle with no problems. There are 2 areas to pitch, separated by a hedge. Both are relatively flat. There is a climbing frame and swing. At the bottom of the main field is the canal, along which boats frequently pass by.
We walked along the canal to Ellesmere, a distance of approx 4 miles which took us 50 minutes. The site is next door to Colemere which has a circular walk round the mere.
The nearest pub and shop are in Ellesmere which is a 10 - 15 min drive away or 50 min walk down the canal. We had come prepared with everything we needed for our stay but it would be a chore if you forgot something!
Access to the site when towing is a little tight. There are some narrow roads and then the entrance itself is slightly narrow. Not a big problem - just take extra care.
All in all a great site for a relaxing weekend away from it all. We will be back!
