Just to echo what has been said really-an excellent site with great amenities. This was our 3rd visit this summer with the kids (9, 5, 1) and they all love it. The park is great and the older 2 could just be left to play while we were in the tent. It was busy the last weekend we were there but not noisy after 10pm at all. We walked into Sherriff Hutton to the pub on an evening which helped wear the kids out.
The warden couldn't be more helpful-you would never have guessed the site was so busy as he kept everything clean, tidy and stocked. The baby especially liked his dog perdy! Will definitely be going back before the holidays end and will be returning here for many years to come hopefully

What a fantastic site. Level pitches (for a tent or a caravan), quiet, excellent facilities, brilliantly maintained. A warm greeting on arrival, which was maintained through our short stay. The site is ideally situated for visiting York and the North York Moors, and a day trip to Whitby or Scarborough is not out of the question. For bad weather days visit Eden Camp or the Jorvik exhibition in York. If you are going into the City leave the car at Monks Cross and avoid the hassle of parking in the centre. We will definitely visit again

What a superb campsite! Possibly the best we have ever stayed on.
Great pitch sizes which are all flat, the camping area is very well laid out and close to all the amenities. All pitches benefit from lovely views of the surrounding countryside and all come with EHU.
The amenities are superb very modern and spacious, free showers and the toilet and sink facilities are more than ample.
Washing up area is great with sinks, washing machine, microwave, iron & ironing board.
Fantastic playpark for the kids which is very close to the camping area including swings & zip wire and footie nets at the far side of the camping area.
Cannot recommend this site enough, the warden Bob is amazing and cannot do enough for you. This is a perfect site for either staying put and soaking up the atmosphere or using it as a base for exploring the surrounding area and visiting York.
We will be booking again!

This site is wonderful …………… we only visited for the bank holiday in early May and our caravan is still there (mid June)!
Because the campsite is relatively new (18 months/2 years old) the facilities are superb, the washrooms are clean and tidy – and they even have plants in them! The pitches are plentiful in size – there’s plenty of space between the caravans, the kids will love the play area i. E. Swings, climbing frame/roundabout, and kids of all ages (including me and the wife) will love the zip wire!
The site is in an ideal location for visiting the coast, York (the Designer Outlet), and lovely nearby villages with local pubs offering good food.
The warden is one of the nicest people you could wish to meet, he is friendly, helpful, and very accommodating – he also knows the area well which is useful for shops, café’s and even running routes!
Overall, the site is ideal for the weekend getaway or a family holiday offering a relaxed family environment.

To me this is the perfect camping site, a smaller size with just the facilities you need rather than loads you don't and without the noise\chew of the big sites. Some will think a small shop and kids play park is not enough, they will want a club house, a site pub, more for kids but for me this is all I want when camping.
The toilets and shower are brand new and immaculate, the warden does a great job and it's in a great location surrounded by countryside but has the city of York, shopping centres, places to visit and much more within easy driving distance.
I can't add anything more to what's already been said, a touch exposed so gets hit by winds making pitching a little interesting at times and it's not the cheapest site around but overall I think it's brilliant.

We stayed at York Meadows over a Bank Holiday weekend, booking at short notice. We were very pleased with our large, serviced pitch and just as impressed with the quality and cleanliness of the washroom facilities. Attention to detail makes the site feel welcoming and special. The children's playground and ball pitch are great and well used by the children staying on site who all played very happily together. The shop is excellent, small but very well stocked. We received a very warm welcome at the reception when we arrived and didn't feel hurried, even though there were lots of arrivals. Sherriff Hutton is about a 10 minute walk away. I would point out that a short stretch of the walk has no footpath and busy road runs along. Walking on grass verge with children and dog, we did meet other parents who shared that concern - maybe a basic stretch of path could be created on the grass verge to improve safety? However, please don't let that colour your view of York Meadows site itself. Must mention the pizza delivery service to the site from local outlet. Kids loved it. I would definitely recommend York Meadows to anyone.

Two Adults (aged 13 & 10) + 1 dog, Kampa Bamburgh 6.
Stayed on pitch no 32 - plenty of room on pitch, didn't feel squashed together with other campers even though site was full as Bank Holiday weekend.
Lovely flat camping field with EHU. Pegs went in with ease. This site is quite exposed and we did have problems pitching the tent in the wind!
Great heated facilities - clean toilets (x4) with well stocked loo roll, free hot push button showers (x4) & 3 sinks (1 in a cubical).
Nice undercover washing up area with sinks, washing machine, microwave, iron & ironing board + lots of information leaflets of 'things to do' in the area.
Great playpark including swings & zip wire. Football nets on camping field & plenty of room for kids to let off steam.
Small on site shop selling basics.
Spacious dog walking field to let Mutley off lead.
Would definitely return!

This site is very flat and spacious our pitch seemed huge!
We stayed easter weekend and the site seemed full but was really quiet.
The site has good facilities, clean toilets and showers, small shop/reception.
The kids play park was excellent, although dog owners used it as a cut through to what must have been a dog walk.
We stayed on a fully serviced pitch so had hardstanding, electric hook up 16 amp, water and drain. There was lots of grass to three sides of the pitch so it was big.
Close to York so will stay here again on next visit to the area.

If your looking for peaceful, well run site, then look no further, been coming here since August 2012 and had fabulous time each visit,
does get rather busy bank holiday so booking would be essential,
great adventure park for our two kids 12/14, little run site shop, showers and toilets excellent, The guy that runs this site is second to none, so knowledgeable and helpful. We arrived late, forgot essential items , they kindly opened shop so we could purchase them to save us driving to supermarket.
Tesco around 3-5 miles away. Monks cross is only 5-10 mins drive and worth a visit also Mcarthur Glen for the bargains. York not too far, its an ideal place if you want to get away from the hustle n bustle, lovely peaceful well run site well done.

Just returned from a bank holiday long weekend.
What a great campsite, the warden couldn't do enough for us during our stay.
This is a new campsite, and over the weekend we had a major storm ( and I mean major) which did result in some flooding in the tent field.
But to give credit, the warden was out straight away helping out and trying to sort out any problems, don't let this put you off as it was great fun for the kids and it did drain off rather quickly for the amount of rain we had in 1 hr.
Very peaceful site on a night and very friendly,
Consider this site a must do.
In our group was 6 adults and 2 children aged 2 and 4yrs, lots of room to run around and a great play area for them,
The surrounding area has lots to offer, Dalby forest for walks, Big sheep little cow, what a hidden secret, amazing for kids, this is a must do and only a hour away at bedale,
We will return again
