Just spent three nights here first two with the grandchildren. The site is excellent very clean and very peaceful. The kids loved the park especially the zip line, they played all day with the other children they met. The people were friendly especially Bob the warden very helpful and friendly. The toilet and shower block are extremely clean and always kept this way. Overall a fantastic weekend did not want to come home.

We visited this site for the August bank holiday weekend.
The warden was very helpful and because we had a continental caravan, we where put on the top the field in front of the static cravans, we would say it was the best part of the field.
It was very busy, a little bit noisy on a night but we still enjoyed it. However if we where to go back again it wouldn't be on a bank holiday.
Even though we didn't have any children with us, there was a play area which the other kids really enjoyed.
There was a couple of things I would like to point out
1, I think the site needs larger sign's for dog on the lead, These need putting up as you go on to the fields with your caravan or tent, I know the site has some but they need to be bigger There was one family who just let there dog run around all weekend, not once did we see it on a lead. We knew that dogs name to a T, we where sick of herein the owners shouting of it all day and night.
2, toilet and shower blocks,
As I can remember I think there was only 3 showers in the ladies for all of the site, However I did notice a separate disabled shower/bath room which looked very clean.
When we first arrived the toilet/shower room where very clean but into the weekend they where getting into a bit of a mess,
At one point I called in to go to the toilet and there was water all over the top of the sink benches (it was probably the children messing about), in fact I couldn't wash my hands the bench tops where that bad,
I was also quite shocked to see dirty blue clothes at the side of the sinks, from what I gathered they where there to clean the sink after you had finished, Sorry to say this but I would not touch the cloth, So the next time I attended the loo I took my own wet wipes to clean the sink and disposed the wipe in the bin. I do think this is something they could try instead of leaving a dirty cloth at the side. I honestly thought it was me being fussy but the couple who was parked next to us said she noticed the clothes and she wouldn't use them either. (Maybe we are both fussy lol)
However I do think the cleaners could of gone in more often on busy weekends like this,
As I have mentioned above I would not let it put me off visiting again, I just wouldn't go on a bank holiday weekend when it very busy.
It is a lovely little site, and well worth the visit.

Absolutely lovely camp site. Bob, very friendly and helpful.
Well drained pitch and very spacious. Grounds very well kept along with flower beds and hanging baskets, make a really pleasant addition.
Had two lovely hot days and actually came back burnt, which makes a change.
Toilet block/showers ect all immaculate and kids loved the play area. Will definitely return.
Top site, would recommend, thank you.

What a fab camp site. The warden was very friendly and helpful. His dog Purdy was lovely.
The toilets/shower blocks were in pristine condition along with the laundry/washing up room and chemical waste disposal. It is still all brand new with nice litle touches like flowers in the ladies (can't comment on the gents!)
The grass was short and well kept with more than adequate spaces between each tent area. Also near to the toilets.
The kids playground was great with a zip wire, swings etc which kept my granddaughter (8 yrs) amused for hours. When she wasn't at the playground, we were watching rabbits and a hare run around the fields.
Bob gave us directions into Sherif Hutton and we both came back slightly burnt from the sun! Yes, we had 2 days of sunshine which makes a real difference when you are in a tent. We went to the Highwayman pub and found that it lived up to its name - yes quite pricey. Granddaughter settled for cake and icecream which was £4. 25!
All in all a great family campsite which in my opinion is 5*. We will be returning.

Just returned from a one night stay at this peaceful site.
Bob the warden was very friendly and informative and gave us good directions to locate the site.
The pitches were flat and well drained considering the recent rainfall and there was plenty of space between each unit.
The toilet/shower block and washing up facilities were as new and spotless.
The nearest village Sheriff Hutton with its pub and shops is only minutes away by car along a busy road. Would have been nice to have had a quiet rural path from the site in order to avoid the road.

Firstly the booking experience - friendly, polite and very helpful.
We arrived at York Meadows and were informed where to pitch our tents.
We were asked to face a certain way but that would have been awkward for us as we wanted to face each others' entrances. We are 2 families and always pitch next to each other. (Girls weekends just mums and kids - bliss)
This was catered for as 'Bob' didn't mind, well he didn't say anything! Bob was the site manager who came round every now and again always willing to help and having a little chat.
The park was great for the children with a zip wire, swings, slides etc.
The toilets and showers were always very clean and the under floor heating was welcome. The cleaner was often mopping away ensuring everything remained clean at all times. She was also very friendly and 'chatty'.
The shop had all the basic supplies you needed but the supermarket was not far away.
We had lots of space and the pitches were nice and flat.
The children (aged 13/13 and 6)really enjoyed their stay here.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here too and would certainly return.

My husband and I stayed here with out 6 year old daughter in June, it is a lovely site, very friendly management, good playpark with zip wire and a swings, the shower block was good and cleaned daily. The shop is well stocked with essentials, bread, milk etc. There is a pub in the village (can't remember the name) but the food is excellent and we got 10% off the bill by producing a leaflet from the site shop! We would definitely stay here again.

We just spent a very very wet weekend at this site it is all very new and has been done very well. On a less wet weekend the kids would have had hours in the fab play area, the big ones and the small ones. The toilets and showers are great with a fantastic family room.
The area was great with walks and bike rides from the site although there was a short section of the road with no path. The warden was friendly and helpful (every campsite should have a Bob!) full of information about the walks, bike rides and wild life.
Will definitely be returning to the site but hopefully with better weather!

We visited the park when newly opened 2012. Whilst the site itself is spacious and roomy it varies between empty and “very busy” at Bank Holidays. All facilities are new but little thought has been given to the inadequate lighting, especially when walking down to the shower/toilet block at night. If you are lucky enough to get a dry sunny weekend you should not experience too many problems. However during heavy rain the site becomes more a “boating lake” than a caravan park as little has been done to address the drainage issues! With regard to events and activities these all seem to centred around one of the sister parks and their established visitors. The owners display a lack of customer service after care once they receive payment for the quite expensive caravan pitches. We will not be returning to the site.

We camped at York Meadows for 2 nights 25th / 26th May and YES we got 2 great days of SUNSHINE, which makes a big difference.
This is a fab / new camp site. The warden was very friendly and helpful, just a great guy.
Key to us: The toilets/shower blocks were in excellent condition along with the laundry/washing up room, however it is a brand new site so I guess they should be.
Warden also runs the small on site shop which is open at certain hours, it has a good range of items so he should be able to sort you out on that front.
The grass was short and well kept with more than adequate spaces between each tent area. We had a south facing electric pitch which was great. It was quite quiet that weekend, so this was great for us, only about 10 / 12 other units as well as the rabbits!
The kids playground was good and new, it had a zip wire, swings etc.
Yes, we had 2 days of sunshine (not been many up here this year!) which makes a real difference when you are in a tent.
This is a a very nice family quiet campsite which in my opinion is 5*. It is peaceful so if this is what you want then it is for you.
As I said, to have a good and helpful warden is great.
We will be returning! In fact we are! We are staying this weekend 28th July just for 1 nt with other family members, lets hope the SUN shines again.
