Site access was tricky for a caravan, up several steep hills with parked cars on either side of the road.
The site was clean and spacious but we had to buy an additional cable as the power sockets were a long way apart. The adjoining camp site was noisy.
Toilet facilities were poor. 3 cubicles in the ladies, and two showers is barely adequate for 30 units, but when the next door field are using them too it's unsatisfactory. There was mould on the walls and on the shower curtain.
The situation is lovely, close to both Berry Head and Brixham Harbour.
Trying to leave, it was difficult to see around the corner and our caravan scraped the wall- looking at the wall we have not been the only visitors to do this, as there were many scrapes visible.

Management response: Please note that as of 2018 this site is under NEW management with many years experience running holiday parks, and some aspects of older reviews may not reflect the current campsite. |

Not my first visit here but it will be our last.
The campsite itself is in a great location situated near BerryHead and a short walk to the town.
Unfortunately the toilet and shower block let us down massively this year. The toilets were often blocked as were the showers. At one point only 2 were working for the whole site which included the additional field used by the caravan club.
We were greeted by a really pleasant 'site steward' but I was growled at by the other for asking for shower tokens on one occasion.
We don't mind basic camping or facilities but starting the morning with the gruesome challenge of the toilets/showers became too much let alone the dread of asking for more tokens to use the showers.
I hate writing negative reviews but feel unless they spend some money on updating the facilities and freshen up on customer service they will be faced with many more!

Stayed in this site for the first time and on arrival the owners were very happy and smiley. Continued while on our stay.
The site is perfect for a walk to Brixham either through the streets or along the coastal route.
The site toilets and showers are not very clean and we over heard campers complaining about no loo roll and mess on floor. So we just used the caravan.
The pitching is generous but many tenting people don't stick to the rules and spread themselves out to much.
As this site allows dogs and is in a great situation we would return but not the best of facilities which was a real shame !

Stayed 5 nights on rally field with C&CC, so was well priced and friendly.
Basic, clean portacabin toilets and showers (50p token) and although the field was busy didn't need to queue.
Peaceful site, 15 minute walk to town (big hill coming back or catch the bus) where there are plenty of shops, pubs, cafes etc as well as the harbour where you can get a fishing or boat trip. The Golden Hind attraction was interesting and reasonably priced.
Nice walk or bike ride from the site to Berry Head where we were lucky enough to see some Dolphins.
Excellent FREE salt water Lido close by at Shoalstone Beach.

We have just returned from this site and I have to say what a fab site it is.
Noticed from previous reviews that people had a game to find the right entrance - look at the website it will tell you exactly where to go - we had no problems at all in finding this.
Site is basic but clean and tidy and at a great price for pitches we thought. Chap looking after the site very helpful and because only small folks very friendly - put it this way took my husband an hour to sort the dog as he was chatting to everyone !
Showers and toilets are of a portable cabin style charge £. 50p which we thought was ok.
Brixham is a 10 min walk away while the beach you can see from the pitch but takes a good 20 mins along the cliff top - but bonus fab views ! We would definitely go back.

Despite the weather we had an enjoyable stay at this site. There is plenty to do within the area regardless of weather. Showers not modern but clean as was other facilities.
Owner friendly and very helpful. It is situated in a lovely spot ideal for walking and exploring approximately 20 minute walk to Berry Head Hotel (the view is gorgeous), short walk to St Mary's Bay beach where dogs are allowed and about 20 mins from Brixham centre.
There is a shop located 10 minutes to the left of the site towards Berry Head. The cafe on Berry Head is worth a try. We have booked to go back in August.

We stayed at this site on a MCC holiday rally, we were part of a large group.
The location was excellent for Berry Head with its nature reserve a views, Brixham about a 10/15min walk down a steepish hill, a hard walk back up, though there is a bus service from a stop about 100 metres away (I think it ran every 20 or 30 mins) Its possible to Bus onward from Brixham bus station.
I would categorise this as a field site rather than a bonafide camp site, the grass was long and needed cutting, in fact whilst we were there the groundsman? cut an oval for our clubs use.
The small terrapin toilet block had showers (50p), there was something wrong with their operation, it gobbled up 50p, s without issuing much in the way of water. This was not too much of a problem as we could use the shower in our van.
I would probably go again to this site mainly due as I stated to its good location
A nice short safe cycle ride could be had around Berry Head

Booked 1 week on this site to take advantage of their special end of season offer, £70 for seven nights which includes pitch two adults awning two dogs and electric hook up, was so impressed we stayed for an extra week.
The site is flat & the pitches are large, I measured our pitch which was 33 feet wide by 30 feet deep, the toilets are of the portacabin type & were always clean with plenty of hot water, all pitches on the main field have EHU & all are on grass with the exception of one large hardstanding.
There is a very large overflow field with non electric pitches, this field was been used by the RCA during our visit with about 50 caravans & motorhomes sited.
The coastal path is close by with spectacular views of Berry Head & St Marys bay it's a very easy walk by the path onto Berry Head.
There is a Co op late shop only a short level walk away which we found very handy & the rugby club which is open to non members is open from 11am till 11pm and they also do meals.

What a great site, a gem once you find the right entrance. Brilliant location for either access to Brixham or to the coastal path.
Plenty of space, and whilst the showers are basic and you need a token they are clean and it isn't far to walk to them.
We had a hook up, and our lead was not long enough, but the owner soon found a spare lead and lent it us for our stay.
The milkman turns up each morning for fresh produce, which is an added bonus.
The walk to Brixham is easy (15min) but a bit longer on the way back due to steep hills. But gives you time to walk off the fish & chips.
Dogs welcome and can be exercised on park which is great.
Looking forward to going back.

Great basic site. If you want super pitches etc. Go to Hillhead. This site is a 10 minute walk into Brixham there are lots of ways to get there but they all end up in the town.
The walk back is very hilly so take the number 17 bus or get a taxi about £4.50. You can get around very easily using public transport £4.50 for a Torbay day ticket.
Went to Torquay, Paignton and Totnes. I have stayed here several times and it is a great base for exploring Torbay. Berry Head Country Park is almost next door and worth a walk.
