We really enjoyed our holiday here. Non electric tents are in a massive field in august - all round the edge with loads of room in the middle for cricket, football etc. Other campers really friendly and joined in, with offers of wine too. Co-op just down the road and a rugby club that did great food and cheapish drink. We walked into brixham harbour a couple of times and my kids had great fun crabbing. Temperature in mens showers fluctuated a bit and there was only 1 sink to wash up - but I never had to queue for either. Basically a no frills campsite, dead cheap in very good location. Would definitely return.

Visited this site for two nights just after the bank holiday - a family with a dog. I did try to book but they said just turn up as there would be plenty of room which there was. Our pitch was close to the water / toilet / shower block which was clean. This is a really nice quiet site. The owners open their office for 1/2hr am and 1/2hr pm for payment / shower tokens(50p for 6mins- very hot) The washing up facilities are clean and very hot. There are no other facilities on this site, so if you want the club house / playground then this is not for you. Although you can have free temporary admission to the local Rugby club which is a 5min walk up the road. Pitches are fairly close together and flat. Close to Berry Head for some fabulous cliff top walking and around 15mins walk into Brixham town itself. Would recommend as overall a really nice site. The Bullers Arms in Brixham Town on the harbour is recommended a really fab meal and you can take your dog in too.

If you want a quiet, cheap, back to basics site, then this is the one. Price - cheap. Large camping field with tents pitched around the edge allowing the children to play safely in the middle. Toilet block has 4 toilets, 4 sinks and 2 showers in the ladies and men's. The showers are token operated but remember to pull the curtain across otherwise all your clothes get wet. Always clean with soap, paper towels and toilet paper. The floor does get a bit wet after people have been in the showers but you expect that. They have a fridge / freezer in the washing up area, if your lucky you might be able to get something in there but don't count on it. Only one sink which could be a bit of a problem - unless your like me and take the time to boil the water and wash up in the tent. We pitched near the top of the field on the left hand side - you get the sun all day and on a clear night the moon. Only problem is you could hear the rabble at the Pontins site in the distance, so next time we will stay on the same side but a little further down the field that way we will be closer to the toilets / water and have that bit more piece and quiet. We have a girl aged 8yrs and boy aged 7yrs and a toddler 18 months. It takes about 20mins to walk down in to Brixham where the children can spend hours around the harbour with their crab lines. It is a bit hard on the old body on the way back up especially with the pushchair and you are restricted to the beaches in Brixham, especially Berry Head, that's a no no with the pushchair because of the steps down, yet the beach looks beautiful, the same with Shoalpool, the outside salt water swimming pool that also has steps down to it, so it's best to pop in to Paignton or Torquay where it's easy to get on the beach and they are nice and clean with everything you need close at hand. There is no shop on site but there are plenty of little convenience stores on the way down in to Brixham and in Brixham itself they have a Co-op and a Somerfield. Also on the way in you will notice a Sainsburys, KFC, McDonalds. You can use the Rugby club just down the road for a pint, if you like otherwise there's a Weatherspoons in Brixham and a few other pubs. This is a no frills camp site - no shop - no pub - no pool just a quiet - cheap - well run - basic site where you can let the children play safely in view of everyone and chat to your fellow campers until the sun sets.

We made a late booking for a long weekend at this campsite, and had no problems booking in. On arrival, our pitch was marked with a post so we had no trouble getting set up. The site is small and quiet, and sits next door to the larger Berry Head caravan club site. Make sure you check your directions to the site, as there is a one way lane that can cause confusion! You end up on the wrong side of the one way lane, able to see the campsite, but not get to it by car (until you ask a local or call the site). :) The facilities are basic, but of reasonable quality; the washup has a fridge and freezer and is accessible at all times via a keycoded door- very handy for those freezee packs! Shower tokens can be bought from the office, but the office is only open at specific times, so make sure you check; you can however usually get hold of the owners at their house which is close to the site. Dogs can be walked in a nearby field, and the site is very close to the Coastal path for all those who like hiking and walking. The main beach is closed to dogs from May to September, but there is a dog friendly cove on the other side of the bay, with a nice shop & cafe. Walking down into town from the site takes about 10 minutes, but the hills are very steep, so allow longer for the walk back up! We loved our stay here and will definitely be back!

Lovely quiet site with clean toilet/shower block. Great range of visitors whilst we were there ranging from families with toddlers to people in retirement (dogs also welcome). Very friendly residents. Plenty of hot water with a fridge & freezer in the wash-up block.

A great position for this campsite - you can park the car and forget about it. It takes 10 min to walk into the town or to the beach. The toilet blocks are porta cabin style and are cleaned regulary. The dish washing facilities are poor due to the fact that there is only one sink and you are often in a queue, I feel that a couple more outside under a rain cover would rectify this. Brixham is great and I will return again but make sure someone else does the pots.

August 2004 Good site, cleaned to a high standard. Quite apart from the morning seagulls if your camping in the field. Soap in loo block, plenty hot water. Excellent position to explore Berry head, great fishing, walking, wildlife fort. 10-15 minuits walk town center. Near to pitch and put crazy golf, laundrette near. Beeches walkable. Friendly owners who take care of this site.

July 2004 We went to this camp site last year, and came back this year. Still a nice quiet little site. Loads of room in overflow field for non hook-up campers. A taxi back from town is only £3 if you don't want to walk up the hill!

July 2004 Nice, quite site. Good for families with young children. Clean loos & showers. Close to Brixham town, but far enough away to be peaceful. Convenient for Berryhead, Dartmouth etc. Will be returning!

May 2004 Good open small site with clean toilet/shower facilities. Loads of very hot water as well. Our pitches had our names on so they were easy to find by ourselves on arrival. Pitches are well defined and a reasonable size. The owners are pleasant and unobtrusive. There was a small freezer for freezer blocks and small fridge. Easy down hill walk into Brixham and easy walk to Berry Head nature reserve. The only slight nuisance was the fact we had a pitch alongside the hedge by a small road leading to a holiday village- The road seemed well used late on the Saturday night by people walking back to the holiday village which may be a problem if you are a light sleeper.
