This site is a little GEM, with good size pitches, some grass and some hard standing, and a rally field. Two portaloos are available in the rally field, its a quiet, relaxing and very friendly site. The site is only a very short walk away from a country park, with a lake, bird hides, children's play area, cafe and some lovely walks. A pub is just a few minutes away and serves real ale. The site owners are very friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble for them. Going back again this weekend, can't wait.

This is a lovely campsite. The pitches are a good size and it had a very nice atmosphere. The lakes nearby offer a nice countryside walk (take some insect repellent) and the pub sells some great real ale and although children are welcome in the pub there isn't any play equipment for them but not a problem if they can use their imagination. Portaloos were always kept nice and clean but the site really could do with a decent shower block as there are currently no shower facilities. The shops are quite some distance from the campsite so make sure you take something to make yourself a cuppa for when you get there. All round a lovely campsite and we will definitely be going back again.

A nice flat field in a lovely rural location. Very quiet and peaceful. However. The portaloos were disgusting and full. Not pleasant during the warm weather-perhaps consider emptying them? The local pub was an experience! Nice ale and an eyebrow raised when I asked for a pint, how quaint! This would be a perfect site if there was a pot wash with hot water and a couple of showers and real toilets. More of a site for caravans unless you like having a 'wash' in cold water or with baby wipes.
We'd love to come back if the facilities were provided, until then. No thank you.

Management response: The portaloo provision is a temporary measure, intended only to ensure that we can offer at least some provision to tent campers without their own sanitation - as sites which will accept family campers are extremely limited in the Wakefield area.
They are emptied weekly on contract prior to each weekend (only licensed specialists are permitted to empty them). They are checked daily and cleaned thoroughly with anti-bax and re-stocked |

Nice flat friendly site with spacious pitches, nice views, chemical toilet disposal, electric hook ups, fresh water and portaloos. Great location next to lakeside walks and countryside centre with woodland walks. Traditional old style pub nearby with cask ales(no food, 'its a pub, we sell beer, restaurants sell food') generous nibbles provided on bar at various times, plus locals (and visitors) bring stuff in to share. Will certainly visit again.

This site is a hidden gem. New site with lots of potential. The area is full of natures wonders. The site basic but everything you need at hand. Close to designer village and escape. Will visit this without question again. Very relaxed site. Oh and the local pub traditional with real cask ales. A must is a visit to the lake, full of wildlife. A nice tea room with freshly made cakes. Lake is only a 400metre walk. Pub is only 100metre walk, bonus!
