We found the site nice and peaceful. Toilets and shower block ok, but usual downfall of people abusing the facilities especially on Sundays (Carboot Day). Some good bargains to be had here.
The toilet block had plenty of sinks, toilets and showers which were hot. The lighting in the toilet block is a bit dim and nothing to dry your hands on. Electric hand dryers wouldn't go a miss for sure. Playground is good to lose the kids for a while. Our pitch had plenty of room for our dome tent, which is rather large. Seems to be a lot of large dogs on site so wife not so keen when being confronted by a large Rottweiler which had obviously escaped from somewhere. She is not a great dog lover and froze when the dog stood its ground. We visited the local pub which served good food and ale, to top it off it was within walking distance. I also managed to get a few hours fishing in. The bailiff seems a nice chap telling me what was in the lake and to a degree how to fish it. I did struggle until he came along! The small lake has lots of small fish but on the other hand there is plenty of large Carp visible basking in the sun. All in all we had a good week and will return one day. Let’s hope my few comments are taken on board, as it would definitely improve the site.

We arrived at the site and was pleasantly greated by the park warden. We were instructed where to pitch up and were positioned in a pleasant spot, but after walking around the site we could not see a bad place to be pitched. The whole park was very clean and well organised.
The children were fully entertained in the Playbarn, which is also on the site and my husband was kept busy with the on site fishing facilities during both the day and the evening and is very excited about the new big fishing lake with its tagged prize fish in it. I believe the prizes to be in access of £6000. Myself, I was extremely pleased with the carboot on the Sunday and went home with a few bargains!
The toilet and showering facilities were cleaned on a daily basis to a high level and as mentioned before the whole park was of a 5 star standard.
I will definitely be returning to the site as a tourer as it is exceptional value for money. I have also put a request in for a seasonal pitch on the site, but as expected there is a waiting list.
The only critisism I could mention is if you are going to be leaving the site or arriving, it is best to avoid doing this on a Sunday morning's because there is a consistant flow of traffic with the carboot.
I would recommend this site to anyone so why not book up now and enjoy a great break.

What a friendly site, great fishing, got rid of the kids to the on site play barn and the wife went off to the car boot sale all Sunday morning, just about perfect !
Easy to reach, just off the A14, ,local village of Fenstanton has all you need, St Ives, a pleasant walk along the river, is one of the most pleasing towns I have visited, lots of good eating places and good beer.
Will come again for sure. Thanks

Upon first arrival it looked like a really nice site, clean toilets etc, lots of space for tents. Showers looked ok, although a few had chewing gum stuck to the floor of the shower, which was bare concrete - no tiles or anything. The water was nice and hot.
After going for a few drinks and some food in nearby St Ives, we returned to the campsite around 10.30 to find the Police talking to some fellow campers who had complained about noise coming from one of the permanent caravans at the edge of the field.
A large group of workers live on the site, and were having a party in one of the caravan awnings. The party went on till 3am, with loud voices and loud music, and the campsite warden or police didn't manage to stop the noise. After the party finished a smaller group went to another caravan and carried on making loud noise for another hour.
After having a small amount of sleep, we decided we couldn't stay the two nights we had booked! When asking for a refund the warden thought we were going because of the rain, and was refusing to give us a refund until we told him it was because of the lack of sleep due to the residents!
A refund for the second night was quickly given and the warden asked us to complain to the site owners, as the warden is always getting complaints about the noise and partying, but the owners do nothing about it.

To cut a long story short: I liked it very much indeed! I came here first, being on my own, in the begin of August 2007 and had a very warm welcome. Facilities and toilets were always clean, even over the weekend. The greens and ponds were perfect and wide. Thus I spent several days having a great time. As I have friends in Godmanchester since 1975 I know the area very well. Thus visits of near Hilton, St Ives, Houghton and Godmanchester - not to forget Cambridge - are a pleasure and a must. With a bike it would still be more interesting going on the public footpaths. - Thus I have liked it a lot indeed! I also know Quiet Water camp site in the Hemmingfords and the camp site in Godmanchester; however, they are no choice! Fenstanton was exhilarating!

Stayed here in April and was absolutely astounded how busy it was! Once we'd been here a while we realised why. Stunning campsite, excellent facilities. They cater for children very well (indoor play barn was amongst the key features). Not the cheapest, but well worth it. Clean, well kept toilet blocks. Very friendly owners and the Car Boot on Sunday morning was excellent. One thing to note: If you want to leave on Sunday morning (especially with a trailer or caravan), please make sure you give yourself extra time because it can take a while to get out due to the traffic coming in!

June 2004 We visit this site on a regular basis and find everything to be good all around the park . The pitches all have their own light on the electric hook up point and the shower and toilet block are in a1 condition. Another plus point is on a sunday morning there is a large car boot for you all to get your bargins. The park wardens and owners are very welcoming and friendly.

August 2002 we chose this site because they said we didn't have to book as they have an overflow field which they open up when needed. On first impressions it appeared a nice clean site, the warden was friendly and although the pitches in the main field were quite tightly packed we felt we had made the right decision. However a trip to the shower block was not the most pleasant of experiances, the 8 showers (4 cubicles x 2 showers)looked like they had not ben cleaned properly for a long time and the toilets were not a lot better. (Despite being closed for 2 hours every day to be cleaned!) Having said that they are free and they were always hot. The only other problem we had was with our neighbours dog that kept running in & out of our tent & the wardens lack of help when we complained that they had become aggresive when asked to put their dog on a lead as the park rules dictate. We probably would go back if every where else was full but i don't think we would take the kids.
