This is one of those sites that when found you would prefer not to tell others about.you would just like to keep it for yourself. But I must sing it's praises and recommend this site to any one thinking of travelling to South Devon for the first time, or like us, for their fourth time. This was the first site I have been too that I'm having trouble to find something wrong with it to prevent me booking-up now for next year. Widend is only a 5min drive to Paignton and you can reach some of the best beaches in South Devon with-in 15mins. That is if you don't feel like visiting the many attractions in the welcome pack that the park puts together for new visitors. Before you decide to go any were ask at the shop if they have any vouchers. The pool was always clean, the take away always served good food, showers hot, toilets clean and entertainment every night in the bar (Young lad on Wednesday nights a must.brilliant) For us it's a 760ml round trip but this is one site we will visit time and time again.

We visited Widend Touring Park in August 2006, we found the site clean, friendly and an Ideal location to visit Paignton. The swimming pool is excellent and heated very well, the club house is also good. The only disappointment was the way the tented area was packed in together around the children's play area, this meant noise by day from the younger children which we did not mind so much and noise by night from teenagers hanging around the area. The noise from the road was also a pain. Tip for anyone going in a tent to this site "take your earplugs"

Quite large site, lots of sloping pitches, beware! Great swimming pool, brilliant takeaway. A Trek to the toilets in the night, not to bad in the day. Great laundry, clean toilets and showers. Good playground. Good shop on site, about 10 minutes out of Paington.

A fantastic site, we've just spent our first ever camping week here and couldn't have asked for a better site. We have two children 4yrs and 22mths and the sites facilities allowed them to be thoroughly included. There is a small park for children and swimming pool, on a wednesday night in peak season there is a face apinter on site and a disco aimed just for children. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. The site was very well kept and very clean and tidy. The site is situated by the road but we were not disturbed by traffic. A good base for the surrounding area and within throwing distance of lots of days out. We shall definatley be returning in the future.

Excellent site to stay with. Very clean, friendly staff and miserable weather (when we stayed!).
Highly recommend this site - about 3 miles outside Paigton 5 miles from beach. Situated quite high up and a number of pitches were on a slope, but excellent facilities Shop, heated pool, live entertainment each night in the bar (a little on the small side once families start to pile in). Free deep freeze, excellent washing up and laundry facilities - and a take away food bar that is reasonably priced & good quality - so why cook!

We stayed at this site for a week and it is a beautiful site. The weather for the whole week for at least 90 degrees so the outdoor pool was great. The showers are immaculately clean, the bar is small but the atmosphere was good and the kids loved the games room. The views are also superb. The only criticism is the noise from the road, but after a few days you didn't really notice it. I would definitely recommend this site and would stay there again. It is an ideal base for exploring Devon and surrounding areas.

May 2005 We visited for 4 days over May half term. Very enjoyable - Nothing we didnt like at all. Small site but with good entertaintment and food. Lovely pool and clean facilities The only constructive criticism I can offer is that the shop, although very clean and helpful, did not have a great selection available. Highly recommended,

May 2004 This was our second visit to Widend after previously visiting in 1997,not a lot had changed apart from the clubhouse. The clubhouse used to be seperated into a adults only bar and childrens bar this is now one big bar used by all and offers good entertainment and good value bar meals. The takeaway is great value and is open in the morning for breakfast meals and 5-10 in the evening, it does get busy but is worth the wait. The toilets and showers are always cheked and cleaned which is always a plus for a camp site. There is some road noise but everything else makes up for this. A very good camp site.

June 2003 We have been to this site now on three occasions - once a year for the last three years. We absolutely love it. The family who run the site are really friendly, shower blocks and toilet areas clean and fresh, takeaway excellent food at decent prices and swimming pool lovely. Although we have no children we always ask to camp by the park area - for some reason this is the quiestest area on the site. We noticed some of the other reviews commented on the road noise but we have to say that this really hasn't ever bothered us. In fact the pitch we prefer is possibly the nearest one to the road! This is a family site and the owners do not tolerate any noise, roudiness whatsoever - this pleases us just fine! Five stars 10/10

August Bank Holiday Went to this site on the Bank Holiday weekend and found it to be magnificent, free swimming pool, nice clubhouse, nice showers and toilet block and very impressed with the free freezer for freezing your ice blocks.
We will return here again only draw back was that we were near the hedge which was by a road but you can't have it all.
