Quite a windy site with no shelter and a busy road adjoining the site. The facilities on the touring pitch are very basic and could do with a bit of updating but clean enough if you get there at the right time, (left my flip flops on even so).
Although there are some hard standing pitches these seem to be left for the motor homes and the rest of the ground is pretty uneven so when it rains expect lots of puddles. Pitching is nice as its not all straight lines, we were touring with another family and pitched at right angles with the cars blocking us in so we had a nice little private area. You may need this as a few balls hit and ran under our van.
The warden is very obliging and helpful and doesn't stand for any nonsense.
The rest of the facilities are as you would expect on a commercial site but as the touring pitch is over the other side of camp it doesn't feel like a huge site - which is is.
There are some very good deals to be had price wise and for this reason I would definitely visit again and recommend.

This was a real mixed bag for me as I usually steer well clear of this type of site, but hey, my sister had arranged it as this years family camp.
It was alright for my sister and her mob safe in their Fiat ducato but putting up a tent in the howling wind that rips off the sea the other side of the road is no easy feat. My first pole that went up immediately snapped from the wind pressure. Luckily I had some strong duct tape and it held.
Bad bits - Almost constant wind, No shelter from wind for tents, concrete under tent pitches, Whistle happy swimming pool attendants, standing water in places, touring field shower block not the best. Very expensive pitch, No chance of getting the gazebo up. Gave up after one night as did not think tent would survive another. Guess the old Meridian 10 is not as tough as I had thought! No accommodation alternatives under £500 for two nights.
Good bits - Decent restaurant/bar/amusements. Good beach (but windy). Funny entertainment. Reception guy did try make some calls to find us alternate accommodation (thanks) Great swimming pool. Luckily my brother put me up in his chalet and sister had my two eldest boys in her van. Life savers!
Overall I would not recommend this place for tents but it is good for vans and a lot to do for the kids. The experience has unfortunately put my wife off the tent but I am taking my two eldest for another couple of nights soon.

Arrived for half term week, site was busy. We knew how far the entertainment block and pool were having checked the map before we left. Warden was great full of local information, seasonal tourers had the best pitches, we backed on to the Camber road. Beach made up for this, kids so tired they slept well. We had meals up at clubhouse, have been to many park resorts so knew what to expect. We visited Rye ,Hastings and Battle. Countryside was great lots of walks new cycle path. If we go again I will bring the kids bikes, so they can do the shop runs. Over all a great week even though the weather was against us

We visited this camping site the first bank hols in May 2009, from Fri to Mon with a touring caravan. This was our first visit to the site and as we expected from other reviews on this site. We arrived a day late so weren't expecting much but the warden was helpful and gave us a choice of 2 pitches, we chose the latter only because our electrical lead was not long enough to reach the electricity box on the field. Anyway, we were a bit crammed in and not sure what our neighbouring caravanners thought of us being so close to them - I could have lived with this seen as we were only there for two nights.
The camping site is large and the entertainment centre was a good 10 mins walk from the touring field, which was not the end of the world as the weather was ok. You are situated right by the main road, it wasn't that busy and you expected a bit of traffic so we were lucky that weekend. It was very windy being next to the beach wall and therefore we didn't bother with putting up our awning. The toilets and showers were clean but could have been cleaner, luckily I didn't really use them much as we had our own facilities. The water supply was right next to our caravan so we didn't have to go far. My hubby emptied the cassette toilet from our caravan into the chemical waste facility and said there was no hose with clean water in which to rinse out the cassette unit and the waste water tanks, which would have come in handy.
The entertainment was entertaining and lively and the drink prices were the same as you would expect from your local pub/bar. The arcade is geared up for the kids and there are loads of fruit machines and racing games and such like for the kids, but expensive for the parents and you had to go through the arcade/gaming area each time you wanted to enter the restaurant or clubhouse. Anyway we tried the food out in the restaurant the menu was a good choice and also a good choice for kids, but the bar in the restaurant was a bit unorganised. We eventually got served and the guy who served us was helpful and we got our food and drinks within a reasonable time.
We didn't try out the swimming pool but some friends of ours did and I think they visited the pool at least three or four times whilst they were camping so it must have been good. Overall the site was ok but wouldn't hurry back there. We paid £30 a night for our touring caravan which was a bit expensive but thought we try the campsite but a bit too large and commercialised.
The best thing about the place was the beach - amazing. Just across the road, and you are there!

We stayed here for a long weekend and the weather was fantastic, the sun shined and there wasn't a breath of wind.
A fabulous location, a short walk from the magnificent beach.
The clubhouse and pool facilities were very good, but the touring site lavs could've done with a freshen up by the end of the weekend.
Nearby Rye is a good day out, but the highlight for us was the Rother Hythe and Dymchurch steam railway which starts at Lydd.
I would happily visit here again for a long weekend, but only if the weathers good.

This was our first week away in the van this year and couldn't wait to get their for a bit of r n r.
Park Resorts site at Camber Sands was our destination. The wind was blowing 40 mph gusts but the sun was shining
We started to put our awning up,which was difficult enough in the winds, but when we came to pegging it down ,what a surprise.I had metal pegs and plastic pegs that bent and snapped,I eventually had to put in hard-standing pitch pegs to hold it down and even they bent and would not go in in places.
Eventually after securing the awning, I started to look around the pitch and found big lumps of concrete, metal sticking out of the ground. A guy from the caravan next to us told me that this site used to be a army base and when they knocked all the billets down, they buried all the rubble, covered it over with grass and called it the touring area.
After years of weathering the top soil had gone leaving some of the concrete and metal exposed hence the bent pegs.
Then Sunday night - Monday morning we had not only the gale force winds but torrential rain and thunder. Worried that I had the awning secured properly and the pegs I had been able to secure it with would hold. We had a very scary night. In the morning we awoke to a total nightmare. The whole touring area all but a few pitches was underwater. People in tents was sleeping in their cars, some had left and thrown their tents in the bins before leaving in the early hours of the morning, caravan awnings flooded with children's shoes floating inside and awnings blown over caravans. We were extremely lucky, we was on one of the pitches that didn't flood but was surrounded by water.
Lots of people went to the site warden for help and to vent there anger and soon it became apparent that Park Resort knew that this site floods regularly and did nothing to warn or advise us that this was the case. Some people who asked for refunds were told rudely no and basically put up and shut up.
I asked the warden if any of the water was going to be pumped off he replied yes but nothing was done that day .I spoke to him the next day and he said 12000 Lt's of water was pumped off the site but I couldn't see where it had been taken from and no one had seen any pump lorries on site.
To add insult to injury, they closed the only shower block on site for refurbishing for 2 days, on what must have been their busiest week of the year so far. When I spoke to the warden about this, he said he was painting on his days off and not getting paid for it (as if I'm bothered) to improve it for us. He also told us that if the touring site didn't reach its target for the year, his wages was reduced.
In their brochure they claim to have spent 1.8 million on the site.New club house and blah blah blah
The so called flumes was in the swimming pool was only 1 flume, the pool was out dated with tiles missing on the floor around it.
The food in the bar was dreadful and we had to send 2 childrens meals back as they looked like they had sat on a hot plate for hours and was dried on the plate.
We decided to call it a day on Friday morning, enough was enough and before we left we spoke to the warden and asked why they hadn't spent some of that money on the touring site, he said it would cost £80,000 to put in underground pumps and improve the drainage of the site.
So if anyone is going to the site or thinking of going, please be aware, this site floods because of weather and high tides apparently and don't expect any help or advise from the site staff
But I would like to add that I have only been caravanning for nearly 2 years and still feel a bit like the new kid on the block and if it wasn't for the hardy caravanners we met their I would have gone home earlier.

It's a year since we came last & there have been a few slight changes, but not much. The beach is fantastic, not even 2 minute walk away. Our dog has has 2 leg operations, so it's excellent for straight running.
This year the staff are wearing uniform's, so can be spotted pretty easily. Arrived in the office for check in, again the girl's in there aren't very helpful, only to be told they couldn't book us in until the warden was about. As we have a disabled child, we decided on finding a pitch ourself and un-hitching. After explaining the situation to the warden, he just swopped our pitch with someone else. We chose to pitch up against the fench next to the main road. There was a little traffic during the day, but nothing that worried us.
The entertainment was poor, especially as they don't put the main entertainment on till nearly 11pm, which seems a little late for the people with families. Saturday nights main entertainment was ' the sound of the drifters'.I must say they were brilliant! Definitely a must!
The prices in the bar were expensive, & the shop a little over priced. We found the nearest tesco, which is 14 miles away. The football court is a must for the boys who love footy, our son spent most of our stay in there.
Hastings & rye are not far in the car, with some beautiful sights & scenery. Hastings country park is lovely, enabling you to get right on top of the cliffs.
Unfortunately, the facilities for tourer's haven't changed much. The shower's are still of poor quality. It's best to either use the showers early before everyone else or later in the evening, as everything's off the same water supply. The more people using them, the lower the water power. There are no chairs in any of the toilet or shower block's. After bringing this up with the warden, he did go out and get some chairs the same day, making having a shower & trying to keep your clothes clean & dry, much easier. There is also no electric points either, which I found dissappointing, but there is one & a mirror in the laundry room.
This isn't our favourite site. They definitely tend to concentrate on the static's rather than tourers, but the beach and local beauty surroundings make up for it. We find this site ideal for a short break, if you just want to relax. We would stay here again.

We stayed at camber over the really hot bank holiday weekend and it was great.Really cheap at £12 per night with a fab entertainment complex, brand new cafe / bar, full amusements and 4 swimming pools. The site is situated on quite a busy road that a lot of motorcyclists use which can be noisy but not too bad. The touring field was very disorganised but a lot of space left between units even when busy (it was fully booked when we stayed). The swimming pool was great: made up of 4 pools plus a lovely toddler pool .Changing facilities are clean and tidy. The entertainment was great but my only complaint is that the under fives disco is at 7.00 followed by bingo then sparkys funtime. This means you hype your kids up at 7 then have to take them out for an hour, losing your table then put them back in but the entertainment was good. There was also a good chip shop on site.
All in all,a good value, well maintained site. We will use this one again.

We stayed here for the first bank holiday in May of this year. Although this being a very large site and not the type we would normally choose, we had our 3 year old niece with us and thought it wise to stay somewhere with entertainment and facilities with her age group in mind.
It wasn't particuarly cheap at £25 per night, but it was a bank holiday so you expect to pay a premium.
The touring field is placed by the main road which seems to have countless numbers of motorbikes racing up and down for the best part of the day.
There seemed to be no rhyme or reason as to the way the caravans and tents were asked to pitch, it was just a case of wherever you laid you hat was your home.
It was extremely crowded with units pitched practically on top of each other.
The toilet facilities were adequately clean
But again very busy, in particular the ladies.
Although the site boasts four pools with waterslides, none of the flumes were open during our stay which was a little upsetting.
The restaurant was reasonably priced and the food ok.
The real problem that we found was the fact that the site mainly caters to the rented static market, which unfortunately, really does attract some of the most unsavoury types.
On the plus side the beach is just across the road and is lovely.

The toilet blocks were horrid, I was glad we had a bathroom in the caravan as I couldn't bear going in there it was that bad. The entertainment was pitiful, not that you could ever get a seat in the club, that was if it wasn't flooded. The bar and restaurant also flooded whenever it rained and no matter how many times you asked for a small drink you got a large and had to pay for it as the european workers pretended not to understand, nothing against these workers they worked a damn site harder that the english ones. Our holiday was so bad we left 3 days early as the whole of the touring area was flooded. We had water so deep it almost came in the door of the caravan and we had to wade through to get the awning down and pack up. They only good point about this camp was when you went into the local area, it is lovely with lots to see and do.
