Nice site, nice pub serving decent grub. Some nice views available for tourers you need to ask when you book. No shop on site, Asda about 5 mins in car. Loads to in the area, would highly recommend the welsh living museum at st fagins, would give iron works and mining museum a miss. Shower blocks are brill. Be very careful when trying to find this site as it is a little hidden gem.

Very good first experience of camping: A tidy and clean site, toilet blocks clean with hot water. Our grandson made new friends straight away, plenty of playing space plus playground and everyone was friendly, even next morning when it was wet and windy! The restaurant meals were tasty and good value with good service The site may be a bit out of the way, but worth finding. Good view of the valleys and only a few minutes drive off the main road, now linked to new roads for easier access, and close to Brecon Beacons as well as lots of local heritage.

Just called in for an overnight stay and not disappointed. Easy to get too. Directions supplied on website were spot on. Few people on site at this time of year so it was very peaceful. Toilet block clean and warm. Pup on site was great, reasonably priced food of excellent quality. would visit again. I would think a great place to use as a base to visit the south wales valleys. On down side the site is very exposed and no doubt you would be aware of any bad weather.

We bought a brand new caravan at the end of July and due to me working I couldn't go far so we stayed here as it was only about 5 miles from home and we Knew that it always had availability. When ever we need a break we go here. It's great for both us and the kids, the bar welcomes children and is reasonably priced. The toilets and showers are always spotless and available 24 hours a day by entering a code to get in so you know they wont get vandalised. The only bad points is there is no shop on site you need to go into blackwood to get anything you want but that isn't to far away anyway and also the road needs a bit of tar mac there is loads of pot holes. (So be careful at night walking from the pub). We now store our caravan in the compound which is also reasonable and safe and secure

The warden & check in was very easy & the pitch we were given was very good. The site was very friendly & the shower block was easily the cleanest & nicest block I have visited. The swings were broken & there wasn't much for the children to do. The pub on site was a bonus although we went there at 7.20 on Saturday night & had to wait until 9.10 for our food as they were so busy. A pool would have been welcome but all in all it was a lovely site & worth a visit.

I was really impressed with this site. The staff were extremely helpful and the shower and loos were spotlessly clean and routinely checked. There's an on site pub that does great meals and the views are great, a short walk takes you to Pen y Fan lake - the dogs and kids love it. Blackwood town is about a mile away and has great pubs, shops, superstores etc.All in all this site was great - mainly due to its cleanliness and friendliness, Highly recommended.

Easy to get to, good signposts, very friendly warden & campsite well run. The shower block was the cleanest I have seen & always lots of hot water. The playground was limited, as the swings were out of action & the site could do with a small pool to keep the children occupied. We had to wait 1.5 hours for a table in the pub for a meal, but it was Saturday night. All in all, a very pleasant experience Lorraine, Sammy & Anna

Lovely reception and warm welcome but road was very pot holed. Our pitch was on gravel with grass for awning, but some opposite us were on grass which was really boggy (I know we had had a lot of rain but some drainage should be in place). Some pitches looked like they were just parked in a carpark. Excellent toilet / shower facilities, best visited in 5 years of camping/caravaning. Quiet site and very easy to get a pitch even on a Bank Holiday. Still some developing being done at bottom end of site but not bothered at all by this. Lovely pub on site with excellent playground for children. Would visit again, but when it hasnt been raining.

Lovely clean facilities, shower and toilet block in lower area was the one we used. Great views. Lovely warden and the pub does smashing food for reasonable price. Will visit again, as Adrian wants to take his HF radio there - nothing between us and the world!

The campsite was spotless, including the showers and toilets, and the caravan pitches spaceous and very suitable for our children to play. The pub and resturant onsite was very friendly and served good food throughout the day.
All staff on the site were very helpful and pleasant, making our stay comfortable. There was a very rowdy family next to us waking everyone after midnight until after 1.30 who were warned then asked to leave the next day which was very welcomed by many campers!
I will definitely be visiting this site again and was a perfect site to stay at for visiting the Blackwood Balloon Festival and local attractions.
