We had a 2 night mid-week stay at Four Oaks. The wardens were very friendly, there was an abundance of colourful hanging baskets near the reception and facilities were up to normal Club standards.
To avoid excessive road noise we selected a pitch on the far side of the site but it was still noticeable.
In addition to the traffic there was significant noise from planes landing/departing Heathrow & Gatwick. A local told us it is normal for aircraft to pass over Henley when winds come from an easterly direction.
We were able to get a satellite signal but trees blocked the normal TV signal and the trees also caused us to be in the shade from about 3.30pm.
There is a pavement along the main road to get you into Henley. The town has numerous eating and drinking places with something to suit all tastes and budgets. You will find local independent shops along with familiar names such as Boots, Monsoon and W.H.Smith. You can stock up with provisions at Sainsburys Local and Waitrose.
There are lovely walks in either direction alongside the river.
If your walk back from Henley is likely to be in the dark please be aware that streetlights run out about 500 yards from Four Oaks and a torch is recommended to complete the journey.
Despite noise issues the site's proximity to Henley meant we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it wouldn't prevent us from returning.

This was our third stay in 2 years. Apart from dog owners allowing their animals to foul outside their caravan's, this is a well maintained site. Toilets & showers kept very clean and the wardens are friendly and very helpful.
The main road that runs adjacent to the site is noisy for the light sleepers and the 40 mph speed limit is ignored by many, this can be very uncomfortable to many cyclists. A 20 minute walk into this lovely town is well worth the stroll. Food can be a bit expensive (liver & bacon with mash £12.50).

Stayed at this site for 3 nights as a base to travel to lego land. Was pleasantly surprised by the high standard of the site. Pitches are spaced out and shower facilities were great.
Agree with other reviews that there is a road noise but as We were lucky enough not to pitch by the road this wasn't an issue for us.
If you like cycling would recommend cycling along the Thames river bank. The site is an excellent base for touring and we will definitely return.

Stayed here for a week and have to say this is one of the best sites we have been on. Showers are excellent, very clean and spacious. The site itself is beautiful and the all the wardens are very friendly and helpful.
Henley is a lovely town, lots to see and do. The music festival was on whilst we were there and the fireworks display every evening, which we could see from the campsite was marvellous. Can't praise this site enough and will be back

Arrived mid afternoon on site only to find most pitches were taken. Managed to find one in the little cul-de-sac off to the right, which was nice, however we were by the road and the noise was very bad at times. In the Caravan club book it says ‘traffic noise is to be expected’, but I think this should say ‘a lot of road noise until 10pm’.
Satellite reception was zero due to the extremely tall trees around the site. They need a good trim. The showers were ok, clean and tidy but in need of a revamp. There is no dog walk on this site, it is a postage stamp and not worthy of a mention in the club book! You have to walk your dog along the busy road for about ½ mile or more before you get to a path, which takes you to the river. There is a lot of open land around the site and I am sure a walk could be put somewhere.
Overall, the wardens were polite and helpful and the site clean and tidy, it is just a shame about the road and the walk into town along said road.
Will not be going back, another caravan site up the road is closer and has more amenities

The site is well maintained and within easy walking distance of Henley, however this walk is along a busy main road.
Showers and all facilities very well kept and spotlessly clean.
The only downside for us was the road noise. You can't book your pitch, and although we arrived at 3.30pm the only pitches left were right next to the road. During the night the traffic shook our motorhome, and woke us a few times as it thundered past. We didn't notice the air traffic as we live near an airport.
Very convenient for Henley, but not very peaceful.

Arrived on Friday May day bank holiday. The wardens were polite, courteous & helpful. Immaculate site inc. the key coded facilities block.
Little children's play area in the corner of the site, no ball games throughout, deep water within the site but fenced off! Satellite users will have trouble locking on due to the amount of beautiful trees around but there are tv hook ups at the EHU posts.
Road noise could be a problem for light sleepers or those just relaxing during the day. Cheapest eating out is in a pub called The Catherine Wheel (Wetherspoons Chain) children welcome. Waitrose, Sainsburys & Tescos await your custom.
My favourite walk or in my case cycle ride is over the bridge in Henley keep the river on your left hand side go to Temple Island lock then bear slightly right & follow the track to the Flower Pot Inn pub, nice drinks, food & garden.
A site for exploring due to road noise but will return, my fifth time.

As a regular Caravan Club site user, we found this site to the usual, extremely high standards that the Caravan Club offer. Very well maintained and a nice site layout.
And I hate to say this but why on earth have a site so, so close to an extremely busy, fast road.
Unfortunately we arrived on a Sunday of the Bank holiday weekend for 2 nights and so fully expected to get a pitch by the road and was also expecting the road noise as we had read the reviews before we left. But what we did not expect was the road to be so close, in fact 5 metres from the back of our motorhome, only separated by a very large hedge.
The warden told us that the traffic dies down at night time, which we disagree with, and it starts to get very busy very early on in the morning. Sorry Caravan Club!
Henley a lovely little village though.

My oh my what a difference a couple of months make. This was my second visit to Four Oaks the first being in May. I totally agree with the previous review re the pretentious male warden. Extremely in your face.
Although the facilities were kept very clean the grass was overgrown. A trip to the loo meant wet feet every morning. Perhaps if the wardens stopped talking and did some work it may have helped the visit. Apart from those whinges the site and Henley are wonderful places to visit. Take a cycle ride along the Thames path to Hurley, you won't regret it. Food expensive in Henley

Henley and the surrounding area is beautiful, well worth a visit. Four Oaks camping is a pleasant & convenient site for touring the local area. There is a lot of road noise to the front section of the site but the pitches to the back of the site are blissfully away from the road. The wardens we found to be very unfriendly and very abrupt. Dog facilities are very limited the dog walk can only be described as a doggy dirt box as it only goes behind trees and finishes by a heap of grass cuttings, very little space in which to encourage your dog to 'Be Clean'. We were told our dogs should stay within our unit at all times unless going off site or to visit the dirt box. The path leading from the site to the river is very narrow and close to a very busy road, my dogs found the traffic worrying. We sadly left site within 24hrs as it was not up to the standard of service or friendliness we expect from the club.
