We stayed on this site for two nights recently. It is an extremely well run site, very friendly wardens and very clean washblock. Showers are good as they aren't the push in type! It is a about a mile to Henley which I thought was a lovely town - very upmarket with loads of restaurants and cafes and very nice posh shops (need lots of money). The walk along the Thames is really nice at this time of year with all the young ducklings and cynets.
The downside to the campsite is that is close to the main road, so there is some noise but not enough to bother me. Also, there isn't a dog walk so you have to walk them outside the campsite and as others said, the path on the road is very narrow and the road extremely busy. I would stay again, but without the dogs.

My wife & I (with our Sheltie - George) stayed at Four Oaks for 4 nights in May 2009. The site didn't disappoint, as you would usually expect from a Caravan Club site, although we found one of the male wardens a bit pretentious! As mentioned by other reviewers road noise was evident, although it did not worry us. I was also concerned that a water treatment plant was next door, but there wasn't any smell. Some reviewers also felt that the pitches were very close to each other. When we stayed the site was full & we didn't feel overcrowded at all. We chose a hard standing pitch and we could get our van, awning & car all alongside each other with space to spare (We dislike small pitches where the car has to be in front of the van!) Our only reservation was regarding our dog. The dog walk is not a dog walk it is a very small area with wood chippings. Also to walk into Henley town, or to enjoy the riverside walk, which is very worthwhile, means walking about a mile (20 mins) along the narrow pavement with fast / heavy vehicles creating quite a blast of wind as they go past which our dog found very disturbing. However overall a very pleasant site which we would stay at again.

Spent the weekend at this wonderful Caravan Club members only site. The wardens were all extremely polite, friendly & helpful. Toilets & showers were to an exceptionally high & clean standard. The site is situated on level land next to a main road, but it is not as noisy as others have mentioned. There is a small play park for the children, although I did not see any children on site whilst I was there, only dogs & plenty of them. A flat & easy 15 minute walk into town & you will find all amenities you will need. However, the town is like a morgue on a Saturday evening. Prices of food & drink a bit above the norm unless you go into the Wetherspoons pub. Apart from walking & cycling, which was very pleasant, there is very little to do or see (only the river) in this very over rated town.

We made a brief stop at this site for one night only. The site was packed as the weather was awesome for October but I felt the layout of the site made the pitched look on top of each other and close together. The site itself is on a main road and traffic noise was evident. The walk into Henley took about 20 mins. Back on site the facilities are good and service excellent. Wood I go back? Not sure.

Site is very nice, up to usual CC standards, even if it does seem a bit cramped, unlike other CC sites we have visited. The wardens are excellent, nothing is too much trouble. The real rub here is the location, fine for walking into Henley (takes about 15 mins) the downside to this is a number of pitches are close to the road, it does say to expect road noise, but I never imagined it to be like this. It is constant from around 05:30am until 11:00pm. Unless it is a Friday night, when m/cycles and other cars appear to be racing each other up and down the road until all hours. It is so bad, I could not hear the T.V. In my own caravan with the windows or door open. The pitches which are near the road (I was one despite asking for the possibility of one away from the road). I really think the CC should do something about installing acoustic fencing, or the such-like.
It is a shame as the site in the main is lovely. The toilets as always are clean and well kept and the surrounding area is full of small shops and plenty of places to eat. Though my wife and I found most of the towns in the surrounding area to be very ho hum, with the exception of Windsor, a truly wonderful place. If you could transport the site to another location (not possible I know) then I would visit it again. Sorry if people don't agree, but I followed reviews of this site and the area and I ended up with a week I considered was wasted. I believe in being as honest as possible, the findings I have noted are just that.

Lovely site. Warden's friendly and helpful. Amenities spotlessly clean. Easy walk into Henley which is very pretty with plenty of shops, cafes and bars. Would visit this site again and recommend to family and friends.

We spent four days here and will certainly be returning in the summer. We chose a pitch near the entrance and had absolutely no problem with traffic noise. The site was immaculate and all wardens very friendly and keen to help. There are so many lovely places to visit within a short driving distance and Henley itself has all the necessary shops and restaurants. We had excellent meals and service at the Wetherspoons pub right in the centre and it was obviously with families too.

We visited this site in August 2007, with a touring caravan just after all the torrential rain, the site it's self was immaculate the wardens were very helpful, we chose a site about 80 metres from main road (pitch no.17) and were not bothered with road noise, the site it'self was very well kept, the toilet block was immaculate, there is a small barbeque area (unfortunately positioned right outside the toilet block) and a small childrens play area. Henley is only 20 minutes walk and plenty to see in the surrounding area. Within 20 miles drive you have Windsor, Legoland, didcot Railway Centre, enjoyed it so much we are going back again 2008

We stayed on this CC site for 2 nights and will definitely return. The wardens are extremely welcoming and helpful . They site your van (and tow off ) with a little tractor if you are on a grass pitch. This was particularly helpful this weekend as the ground was very wet and access to some grass pitches is a little tight. Toilet block immaculate, a miracle considering how wet it was. We were pitched furthest from the road and wasn't aware of any road noise but looking at those closet I could see that it may be a problem for some. However this is clearly stated on CC site details. The EHU bollards have TV hookup too channels 1 -4 all reasonable. Small childrens play area but no ball games allowed on site (fair enough, it is not a large site with huge open spaces). Henley is less than 5 min drive or a 20 minute walk away and has a wide range of eating possibilities if you don't fancy cooking and a large supermarket (waitrose). Lovely river walk, boat and river museum (not visited). We visited the weekend before the regatta and it was fun to watch all the crews out training. All in all a great site only the weather stopped our weekend getting 10/10

All the typical high facilities you would expect from a CC site. The wardens were extremely friendly and helpful and definitely the best I've come across so far in a CC site. We were a bit late due to traffic and they very kindly waited for us. Note for folks coming in via A4130 - it tends to bottleneck near Henley and we were 30 mins sitting in traffic. Would agree re road noise but not a huge amount of traffic passing through - and it does point this out on the website. Only a 10 minute walk to Henley and level the whole way on a path. Henley itself is a fabulous place and definitely going back here again.
