Lovely campsite, very friendly, excellent facilities - clean toilets and showers, very dog friendly nice dog walking area. Easy walking distance from clean safe beach (allows dogs), clean toilets adjacent to the beach, nice pub, good surf school (King Surf) and great little shop selling everything. We couldn't find anything wrong with the campsite or the local amenities. We will be going back.

What a fantastic find! Though we have both camped as kids, this was our first outing in a very big tent and a 15 month old toddler. The site was clean and tidy and the owners extremely welcoming and helpful. We aren't dog owners and though the site does allow them, they never interfered with us in any way. Lovely beach not very far away and the pub down the road does lovely grub - the Sunday carvery is especially recommended there. I wouldn't hesitate to use this site again.

This is a smashing little site. We stayed for a week in August and left for a more prestigious site in north Devon and have been regretting it ever since. Magic Cove is small but very friendly site and we booked for 2007 before we left. The site is only a few hundred metres from the beach and is therefore excellent for families with young children. The village has a couple of pubs that do food and a takeaway. The toilet blocks were cleaned thoroughly by the owners each day were spotless. I would recommend this site to anyone.

I so agree with everything that has already been said, absolutely brilliant site. Nothing was too much trouble, so very pleasant and friendly campsite owner. Who had a star quality I have never seen before in all my years camping.she actually seemed to "enjoy her job immensely"! I am not suprised it gets booked up so quickly, it is too far for us to get there easily, otherwise we would have been going back again and again and again. CONGRATULATIONS your site is FIRST CLASS**********

This was the first year we have been camping, and our first time at this site, we had been to another site near by 3 weeks before, but this site was the best. We have been visiting Mawgan Porth for approx 5 year's, and we love the area for the beach and the surf, which is so close, it's unreal, any closer and you would be on the beach. There is a shop/newsagent and surf hire nearby, and it's only a short drive to Newquay/Padstow/Wadebridge or St. Austell. Supermarkets are only a short drive to. Should the weather be bad, being Cornwall there is plenty to do and see. The site is small, so getting a pitch can be difficult, but is well laid out, very well maintained and very clean. Never had to wait, showers take 10p but it's no problem. The owners are very friendly, and so are the other campers. Things must be good, because so many return year after year. And so have we, we have already re-booked for next year, and hope to so for many years to come.

We have just had a week here. What can I say, apart from I have booked again for next year. The site is within 5 mins walk of the superb beach, it is spotlessly clean. The facilities must have been cleaned 3 times a day. The pitches are a bit on the small side, but they have water and a drain at the side of each. Lesley will also lend you an aerial cable for your tv. They really are very friendly and helpful. I don't really want to tell you how good they are as it is already a struggle to book here

We visited this site in June and what a great little site it is. Luckily we had booked our week as the site was fully booked. It's a level sheltered site, with good facilities. The pitches are of a reasonable size,(some have electric hook ups) all have there own water tap / drain, which we found good for rising our wet suits! The RAF base at St Mawgan is minutes away and while we were there they were doing practice flights all day from 9.15am onwards.(very loudly), Newquay airport is also there, but the planes didn't bother us at all. The toilets and showers were always clean, no matter what time of day we went. (we never had to queue either). They operate on a 10p metre which was more than adequate for a decent shower and hair wash. Music was piped in after 7am which was fun. There was liquid soap and washing up liquid in the block in case you forgot your own. The owners were very friendly and would freeze ice packs, and supply change for the showers, we borrowed a dust pan and brush, they also had some books you could borrow. The site is just metres from the lovely sandy beach, a very flat walk that now has a disabled entrance. The village had a great little shop that sold Cornish produced food, it also had a little deli in it where you could get a great sandwich to take on the beach with you. Also a very good pub which does a great carvery. There's also a surf school where you can hire boards as well as have lessons. It takes just a few minutes to get to Watergate bay by car where you can enjoy Jamie Olivers' new 15 restaurant and a fantastic large beach.

We loved this little site. It took a lot of searching to find somewhere near Newquay which fulfilled our simple requirements of being within walking distance of a beach and having no "family entertainments". The Magic Cove was perfect with it's immaculate washrooms and mown pitches. It was peaceful and friendly and we spent a lot of time relaxing outside our tent. Watching the rabbits in the evening and the early morning was a pleasure.
The beach and clifftop walks were wonderful and the tiny village catered well for the camper with adequate cafes and a shop for supplies. We also partook in the fine jam and baking that was brought to the campsite by the baker herself (I think this is a twice weekly occasion).

So good I don't want to tell you about it! Booked for next summer hols before we left, and I think we got the last pitch too! Lovely, no-fuss little site, beautifully maintained, most welcoming hosts / butcher / cake-maker! Great dog walk, great beach for dogs, great for coastal path, and great surf.
It is so close to the beach we managed to get two dogs, food / water for a day, windbreaks, chairs, rugs, surfboard AND A KAYAK with paddle/helmet etc. there all in one go between the two of us!
The one little thing that swung it for me? Taking a shower with Robbie Williams/James Blunt/Bono/whoever was on the radio at the time! Music piped into showers/loos all day.. fab, just like home!
Oh, and each pitch has it's own cold water tap/drain, so you can wash the wetsuits out or rinse crockery/fill water barrel without traipsing half a mile across the other side of the site.

August 2004 This is a lovely small campsite 300 yards from the surfing beach of Mawgan Porth. Very sheltered level site - a sun trap. Cleanest facilities I have ever seen. Very very friendly family run site. Been visiting here over the last 2 years on a regular basis and absolutely love it! So does my 15 year old son. Essential to book and you need to book a year in advance for the summer hols - it's that good! Very peaceful and chilling - man!
