Glad I read reviews about the Tom Tom taking you to wrong venue. There are 4 Holt Farms in area. The one you want is off Holt Rd.
Nicely laid out site, checked toilets and showers as we had a friend staying who prefers to use the site facilities, they were clean and tidy.
The warden was very helpful and informative, showed me how to use the electricity meter. The electricity usage seemed fair, we have quite a bit of electrical stuff on board and we used £3 and for 2 days and left 96p for next person!
No road noise, very peaceful at night, would definitely use the site again, have recommended to friends. I think the charges are fair, we asked to leave van until 6pm on Sunday and I expected to pay extra but was told it was fine, we need more sites like this.

Our very first weekend out in our new camper - (new to us that is!). We had the MMM guide in the glove box and headed for the Midlands to visit my Mum on Mother's day, so wanted to stay somewhere rural and dog friendly overnight.
We booked provisionally by phone and rolled up at about 7.30pm Apart from some confusion finding the farmhouse to book in as the sign had fallen down, we got in and established quickly.
The site owner was friendly and helpful and the facilities were just right. I found the shower somewhat chilly but the block was clean and well set out - there was a distinct lack of toilet paper in the ladies loos so I'd recommend taking some with you just in case they run out!
A lovely spot to spend the weekend, plenty of room and space for the dog to sniff about without disturbing any other campers. We saw quite a few bats flitting around in the evening so great for wildlife lovers too.

Had a lovely 3 day break at Holt Farm in our bell tent, right in the middle of lambing season. The owners are friendly laid back people and although very busy at this time of year were happy to deal with any questions we had. The site warden was there on our arrival but was leaving site for a few days and they were also friendly and helpful.
As it was early season mid week we virtually had the place to ourselves. It was good value at £13/night plus EHU by £1 cards we only used 2 and that was with using an electric heater at times.
If you use a sat nav to find the site the postcode will take you to Welsh Road East where there is a Holt Farm, just not the one you want. On this road look for a turning to Holt Rd and the farm is along there.
The site is very nice, as well as sheep there are horses, chickens, ducks, donkeys etc and two geese who we dubbed 'the management' (good guard animals lol).
The showers (2 in each) were free, hot and had good pressure (new duck boards too)there we lots of pegs for your clothes etc and a chair in each, I know what the other person said about a curtain and I suppose that would be an advantage but you could manage without. They were clean and tidy but they were not used much when we were there. I wonder if the site was full if the toilet/showers available would be quite enough.
The site backs onto the Oxford Union canal which has a very good foot path. We walked this into Napton which is very nice. Despite the previous bad reviews we tried the pub there, the Folly. Thank goodness we did, it was brilliant, they made our dog welcome (bar only), there was a friendly inclusive atmosphere because the landlord took time to chat to regulars and newbies too and the food was just great. I highly recommend it.
I would go back to this site again.

This site is lovely.Very relaxed.Loads of walks.
Showers etc have loads of hot water.
No early departure time.We left at 2.15pm.
20 minute stroll to the Folly pub along the canal.Beer and interior great. Staff very friendly. Says it is under new management. Very busy for food though we didn't eat.
Site was very good at £13 a night. We bought an electric card for £1.00 but there was 75p already on the meter. This ran out early in the morning so we didn't use our card and returned it for a refund.
A great site and location.

This was one of the first sites that we stayed, having recently bought our first caravan. We found it to be well maintained with a fair amount of room between pitches. For one night we used less than £1 on the electric meter, but being June we didn’t need to.
As already mentioned by earlier reviewers, the ablutions are a little tired, but they were functional.
The site was quiet the night we were there, but we were told that it was busy/noisy the previous weekend. There is plenty of room for children to play.
The site is only a short (about 1/2 mile) walk from the Oxford canal. Turning left along the towpath there is a public house about 1 mile away. We did not go in, so cannot comment on what that was like.
Overall, we were pleased with the site and would go back.

A nice, decent-sized site split over two fairly big fields (one mainly for caravans, the other for tents), plus a rally field on your way in.
First point - do not follow the post code with your sat nav! Pretty easy to get a bit lost in the environs (plenty of farms, one of which is also called 'Holt'!). Basically leave Southam on the A425 to Daventry, and take your first rightT up Welsh Road. Keep going for a mile or so, and then take a left up Holt Lane(?). You won't miss it then.
Facilities a bit small for a three-fielder, and the showers could use a tune-up, but we don't care about that do we?!?
It's overall a nicely-kept, well-run, affordable, flat site amidst pleasant, open, farmed fields.
Re: local boozers we only tried The Folly (a 20'ish minute walk down the canal), which was fine. Nice friendly staff, but the food was pretty basic (I'm being polite there).
One fair-sized telly, plus a 50p-a-game pool table.
Overall, recommended!

Do not turn into the first driveway that says holt Farm, keep going (even if sat nav tells you you have arrived!)
Located very near to canal, handy for dog walking.
Pitched in nice open field with caravans sited round edge.
Fresh water in middle of field.
Electricity on meter card system. Simple, we stayed 3 nights bought 2 x £1 cards and that was sufficient, left 48 pence for next person too!
Toilets, could do with being a tad cleaner in my opinion, a rather green looking wooden duckboard to stand on while you shower (make sure you take clogs or flip flops!), and the shower itself: well. Shame as this was lovely site and good value at £12 per pitch per night.
Waste water drain at side of toilet block.

Have just come back from a glorious weekend at Holt Farm. Its a lovely laid back relaxed site, plenty of room for children to play, lovely walks along the canal and we were able to choose where we wanted to pitch.
The toilets and showers were kept clean and stocked up, they did run out and one point when a School Party came for one night, they were put into a field away from the other campers and the Warden was quick to check and restock the toilets.
Baby lambs, Guinea pigs and Chickens to look at and lovely cream teas which I would have liked to have tried. The Ice Cream van even made a welcome visit on Saturday Evening.
No rush to leave your pitch on the Sunday which was nice
A lovely no frills site, we will be back again.

Just back from a lovely weekend. Certainly quite rural and managed to turn down the wrong farm track due to the Sat Nav telling us we'd arrived at the postcode and turning down another holt farm track oops!
Anyway the owner turned up and we found it, the site is made up of several large flat fields with the one we were in having some disguised undulating rolls which took me a bit by surprise but no harm done.
General impressions: very reasonable rate of £12 per night plus electric cards at £1 each (there being 96p on the meter already) we used 2 but left 76p on for the next visitor and that included a couple of short sessions of heating in cool evening and morning.
Water tap in the middle of the field, toilets and Elsan the far end from us. Two toilets and two (free) showers. The toilet block could do with modernizing but you pays your money etc.
Owner and warden very friendly, cream teas at £3.50/4 per person with the profits going to local charities and an assortment of small animals for the children and lots of sounds of nature for us townies to enjoy !

We have just spent a fantastic weekend at Holt farm, helped by glorious warm and sunny weather. Owners were welcoming and friendly and the site is well laid out with nice flat pitches at very reasonable rates.
Fires and bbqs are allowed (off the ground ) and bricks are conveniently dotted around the edges of the fields for this purpose. Showers, toilets and washing up facilty were fine and kept pretty clean too. Plenty to do and see around the farm to keep the kids interested and having fun.
We enjoyed a walk along the canal to Napton, through the 6 locks and the kids loved helping open the lock gates to let the houseboats and barges through. Really friendly buzz along the tow path too. Nice pub with outdoor seating area near the canal called the Folly which was great for a cold beer but rather pricey for food ( £7 for a kid's meal ) so we walked further into the village and found the Crown which was superb and far more reasonably priced. The chef Lottie desrves a mention as she was really welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed a huge sunday dinner before heading for home.
Would recommend this site and we will definitely be returning again.
