Beautiful position, site, road then sea. Wonderful cove at Porth to watch wild waves or lots of sandy beach to walk across and coastal path.
Site is charming. 2nd Visit with motorhome. Generous pitches, superb shower rooms, warm welcome,
Pretty stream along back of one side of field.
Everything in apple pie order, easy booking, helpful staff, loan of ariel extension, plenty of parking, so so near the sea its amazing.
Walked to Newquay, fascinating town for many varied reasons. Pass a Tesco Express on walk to Newquay so handy to pick up a pint on the way back to site.
Bus ride to Newquay good fun too, which we also did first of all - double decker!
Near Padstow which we also visited.
And booking for next years return visit!

We were lucky to be able to 'nip down' to Porth Beach from Bude during the hottest October weekend ever! It certainly made for another great stay at Porth Beach Touring Park.
We had called ahead to make sure we would be OK to just turn up on whichever day we decided to head off. Check in was friendly, quick and efficient and we were asked where we preferred to pitch. We had a massive corner pitch, grass with EHU, right at the end of the site which suited us very well.
Central toilet block always clean and never busy. Plenty of showers, toilets and privacy cubicles in each. Outside washing up area but undercover (if you know what I mean?!). Recycling near the toilet block and plenty of bins and water points around the site.
Porth Beach Stores has now sadly closed, so there's no longer a shop within 5 mins walk for your daily papers, bread, milk, etc. I think the site would do well if they offered papers to order and the odd basic foodstuff. A missed market maybe?
Bus stop right outside the site. We took it into Newquay one morning - 10 mins into town @ £2. 50 per person return fare and free for our dog.
The Mermaid Inn (the pub on the beach) is across the road from the site and is very popular with campers. Good food, not overpriced, good service and doggie friendly (inside and out).
This is not a site we would use during high season but it's great for us to use at the beginning and end of their camping season (April - October). We will be back without a doubt.

We have been to this site five times in the last eighteen years, the site is in a excellent location, across the road from a beach & a pub, with a 30 min walk into Newquay itself or you can catch the bus right outside the site, if you don't want to walk. The site itself is very level with enough room for our VW camper van & awning.
Now I have to say after we stopped there this year I don't know if we would go back again. When we turned up to our pitch there were little bits of rubbish on the pitch, so after pitching a 5 min clean was required (no major problem).
The main problem was the toilets and showers, they were dirty, my wife asked me if the mens were dirty, which they were, so we called in to reception to point this out to the staff, we were told that we were the first to complain this season & were thanked for our 'feedback'
Nothing was done for the rest of the time we were there, it just seems they were happy with a quick swill round, never were the toilets closed any time so they could be properly cleaned.
The problem with the pitch having little bits of rubbish on is because when someone moves from the pitch the staff just go round it with a ride on lawn mower which just chopped up any rubbish
This is not a cheap site either as it cost £33 a night for the pitch with electric.
Shame really as for it's location it is really good, maybe they had a off week

Stayed for four nights in June in a large family tent, on arrival staff were helpful and welcoming. Location is excellent, access to nice beach and coastal walks across the road, also pub serving good food at reasonable prices just across rd.
Newquay town centre is only a couple of miles away( we walked it along coastal pathway which took about 40mins), there's also a regular bus from outside site every half hour.
We found toilets and facilities to be very clean and of a high standard and well maintained, however the site was only approx 50% capacity so cant comment on busy times.
The only negative for us was the size of the pitches and we felt right on top of and hemmed in by our neighbours, great site for caravanners or motorhomes but for tents you need a little more space.
That said overall the site was very well maintained and in an excellent location.

This was our first visit to this site and would consider using it again. On arrival the staff are very welcoming and helpful, both with the site and the local area.
The facilities are large enough to cope with a full site and are kept in excellent order (although in 'peak' times they start to get a little messy but are soon sorted out).
The toilet/shower block did become a meeting place for the teenagers visiting the site and became quite loud at times. However, this did not effect us as we were pitch in the back of the site in the far corner. Therefore, if you have young children who goto bed early then I would recommend pre-booking the pitch away from the toilet block.
Local beech is outstanding. We spent nearly everyday here and the kids never got bored. Big waves and rock pools aplenty.

I stayed at this campsite for 3 nights and was really impressed with its facilities. The toilet block was well cleaned when we stayed and there were plenty of showers with hot water when you wanted them.
-When arriving at the campsite the staff placed us next to a caravan which blocked the light from our pitch, when we asked if we could move they were more than happy to move us to a pitch of our choice, though I doubt they would have been so helpful at a busier time of year.
-The only problems we had was the little wild rabbits that joined us in the tent in the middle of the night!- Serves us right for leaving food out!
-We loved that we were about two minutes from the beach and nice walks along the coast and the local pubs were lovely and extremely welcoming.
-We will be returning to this site again this year.

Just spent a week at Porth beach. Just wanted to point out a few things we felt during our stay. We chose this site for its location to the beach(which is great) and for the toilet facilities(not great). Dont know whether it was the time of year, but showers and toilets were never clean, full of teenagers sitting around charging phones and hair straightening at a late hour. The water was never hot enough and you have to keep pressing the button for the water to keep it running(very annoying!) Also contrary to other reviews, I found the pitches too small and felt too many people cramped into a small space, Again could be the time of year. Another moan (sorry) they wont freeze your ice packs for you, you have to hire theirs for 50p per day per ice pack. Overall didn't feel the site lived up to other reviews

We felt that the standards of hygiene have decreased over those years. Our main gripe was the shower block, male and female. Now I have read previous posts where it was said that they felt that the shower blocks was 'spotless'. Our view and experience was somewhat different in that we both thought the floors were grubby and mopping alone could not lift the dirt off the non slip tiles.
We have visited many sites and some of those are larger than the Porth one. Those sites have a strict regime of cleaning twice a day which is what we expect. At Porth the shower block was cleaned once a day, which in the peak season was just not enough.
We raised our concerns with the management there, which prompted an all day cleaning session using a power brush. Now after there efforts it was better, but still not 'spotless'.
Now it should not have taken our complaint to prompt the deep clean. Regular inspections would have seen what I saw.
Anyway I would agree with the other comments about the site and it is a ideal place for families and young children. I just hope that they keep on top of the cleaning and we may go back.

I have to agree with the two recent reviews. I also thoght that the toilet/shower block could have been cleaner. We stayed here for the last two weeks of July, the first week was pretty quiet and even though the second week was really busy the cleaning regime did not change.
Apart from the cleanliness of the toilets I thought the site was good. Close to the beach, good pub food only yards away and a great tapas restaurant. Even on the second week the site was quiet after 10-11 o`clock. I would recommend this site

Just spent a week at this site with the family and it was perfect, I cant really say anything bad about this site.
The Park has only a small road and a small car park between you and the beach - its perfect for the family to get to the beach, no driving and parking, just a quick 3 min walk.
The beach is very nice, sandy and clean with plenty of rock pools and it is lifeguard active.
Handy shop just outside the park open 7am to 10pm daily for those emergencies or there is a Morrisons about 5 min drive into Newquay or a Tesco Express.
The bay also has a pub a cafe and a surf shop.
The site is very large with large pitches.
Toilet/shower block is very clean and tidy with plenty of hot water.
Childrens park is just behind the shower block and is sand floored with swings / slide and climbing frame.
The grass is well maintained and the park also has hard standing pitches.
The site is set within a valley and surrounded by rolling hills and of course the beach to the front and so it a lovely place to relax and unwind.
The rolling hills however make poor TV reception for cheap/Standard aerials. The Digital TV website states that no signal is available for this area but we managed to get a good signal but we do have a pricey aerial, our neighbours had problems with there aerial and most people seemed to struggle with getting a signal, the park does offer a pitch with a TV socket but it's an additional 4 pound a night.
The other down side would be the early checkout time of 10am, a struggle for us with a 15 month old but we left at 10:30 and weren't told off for it (maybe strict at busy times)
This is a great site and well worth a stay if on holiday here, one of the only sites I could see in Newquay that was on the beach and had no same sex groups - just families
We will be back soon
