We visited this site this weekend and arrived on Friday when the weather was dull and damp. The campsite was easy to find and situated just through a public car park. The park itself is just a 2 minute stroll from the beach, and with a local pub and bistro and a small shop it had all the basics needed.
The actual site was flat and had some hard standing pitches although we did not have one. We were designated an end pitch and found it to be large and the ground well maintained. The toilet block was clean and the showers hot and with room to put your clothes whilst you showered. There is also a launderette and between 10 and 11 staff sell newspapers and essentials from outside.
The drive to Newquay took about 10 minutes and takes you from this quiet cove to a much busier and noisy town that has the local shops that you would expect from a seaside town. We also visited the beautiful Watergate Bay and numerous other small beaches that seem to be around every corner of this picturesque coastline.
This site is ideal and caters for both families and couples. The beach and surrounding hills give breathtaking pictures and an ideal space to play. A definite must to visit if touring Cornwall.

Great site, what more can I say, me and my my family stopped here for 2 weeks of july 2006 and had the best holiday ever. My kids, twin girls aged 3 loved the play park and also the beach which was only a 2 minute walk. A pub across the road with entertainment and food and a shop just a 2 minute walk away. The shower blocks and toilets were second to none and were very Clean with air conditioning and music playing all day. The site is very peaceful on the whole and the pitch we had was huge and nice and grassy. The gates closed at 8 pm every night so very safe for children to play with no cars driving about.

So to sum up Great Site, Great Beach, Great Toilet/Shower Blocks, Great Facilities and we will defenitly be returning in the future.

The best place to stay in Porth!

Stayed here over the Easter weekend and boy did we make the right decision.Seeing as Cornwall had the best weather out of the whole UK!

We hired a brand new static caravan (van number 3) that the owners had just installed. All their statics are new for 2008 and are fully equipped with all kitchen stuff, central heating throughout, lovely shower and bedding. Plus the added bonus of a flat screen tv with Freeview!

The site is well maintained, with the vans being separated from the campsite by a large hedgerow. There is ample parking, we parked next to the van, although I can imagine the car park at the front of the site getting pretty busy in high season.

This site is far superior to the larger caravan parks as is evident just by looking at their website. The brochure and website really doesn't do it justice! Just a shame we were only there for 4 nights, although looking to go back in September (fingers crossed!).

Had fantastic contact with the owners via email prior to booking and can't sing their praises enough for having such a lovely spot right on the beach.

There's a pub right opposite the park, however we didn't use this as we often ventured into Newuqay by cab for the evening (about £6 single fare). For a fantastic curry go to Maharajah in Newquay, especially at sunset as their views are amazing! There's also an Iron Age settlement on the right hand side of the beach opposite the site with a very scary bridge that goes over the sea.You have to go there when the sea is rough to experience it!

Didn't use the toilet block or laundry facilities but they look supberb.

Would highly recommend this site for families and couples of all ages. They don't take bookings for large groups (stags etc), which is a godsend!

We stayed here for a week during the rainy season! Our first 3 days were beautiful - the access to the beach is fantastic and having 3 small children we couldnt fault the facilities of the park.
Beach (no Dogs - great lifeguards) and the local pub and shops/takeaway - nearby is a beautiful chinese and round the corner was a bowling alley. The only real problem was the weather and the small pitches - we would have booked for this year but even though we tried straight after Christmas they were fully booked for electric hook ups for the school holidays! So get in quick!

We just spent the weekend here, great position close to Newquay and next to Porth beach small shop just outside and a great pub. The shower/ toilet block was great very modern and very clean even had music playing. The only down side was the pitches were a bit small (and we had a larger one)  there was not much room between pitches. made it very hard to get the caravan on and off the pitch as you were close to the caravan/ tent in front and beside. we did feel very closed in and the site wasn't full. We might go back in the very quiet times of year but would not consider going in season we like a bit of privacy. If your not looking for space and just want a pitch this is a great site it was very popular with tents and this might be why.

We stayed here for 1 week with my partner and our 9 year old son.  The site is ideally placed, close to the beach and a 5 minute drive into Newquay.  The toilets and showers were excellent, clean and modern.
The site was busy but was not noisy, although later at night older teenagers did gather around the toilet block, using bad language making it a little uncomfortable when taking my 9 year old to the toilet block.   The local pub is great, serving lovely food, you can take your well behaved dog in which makes a change for us campers with a dog who normally get stranded outside whatever the weather.
The beach is lovely but you cant take your dog on so we used to have to use the car to get to the next beach that we could take the dog on, which sort of defeated the object of being on a site close to the beach.
The only downside was I found the reception staff a little "stroppy" when we asked if we could pitch our tent to the other side of our pitch than the side we were told to, this was due to a raised manhole on our pitch that would have been located directly under where we sleep.  The warden who came out to see us however was lovely.
We are not going back next year but only because we have found a site close to the lovely beach at Mawgan Porth, that we can walk to and take the dog,
This site is ideal for families who want a base within walking distance to a clean safe beach.

Stayed here for 1 week, after a week I got very bored. The pitches seem to be small, you got the feeling of being closed in. Plenty of water taps scattered about. The toilet/shower block was well kept & very clean & the showers were free. There was 3 washers, £3, but did a good wash, 2 dryers at 20p a time & 2 ironing boards/irons which were free. At the entrance of the camp is a huge car park which belongs to the camp & there you will find the shop, not too bad, doesn't sell frozen oven chips? Next door to that is a cafe/takeaway, nothing to shout about. If you are wanting pizza, burgers, curry/kebabs or chinese, forget it, there isn't even a fish 'n' chip shop. The nearest I got to a real takeaway was about 3/4 mile away which was a chinese, very good & not expensive.
The camp has a play park with 2 swings, 2 toddler swings & a climbing frame, if you don't see the sign for it you would miss it, it is very small & hidden by thick bushes & trees. The camp allows ball games but where I don't know, there is no space unless a caravan pulls off its pitch.
The camp also allows dogs, but there is no dog walk area & your not allowed to exercise your dog on camp, walk out of the camp onto the big car park & there are signs telling you not to exercise your dog here, walk out of car park to a big beach, yes you've guessed it, no dogs allowed. My poor dog had his legs crossed for ever.
The park warden is always in & out of camp watching for someone who is breaking the rules, he was a very strict guy.
Now the beach was brilliant & well watched over by the life guard. There are a few coves to choose from in the immediate area, but I would say that Porth Beach is the safest & best, especially if you have toddlers.
After all of this we did enjoy it, but will not be going back to this campsite.

We stayed here for 2 weeks during July. Really enjoyed the stay at the campsite.
- Toilet blocks are of an excellent standard, with ample supplies of hot water and even piped music.nice!
- The pitches are well laid out and the site never felt overcrowded as so many others do
- I found the park to be good value for money and will definitely return.

In addition, Porth Beach is very well located - surrounded by stunning coastline and has a very good beach accross the road. There is a frequent bus service into both Newquay and Padstow from the site.

Good location, Porth Beach has a good, spacious pub, well stocked Mini Mart, nice beach and frequent buses to Newquay. The facilities at the campsite are excellent and I heard a few remarks that they were better than home!

The trout stream doesnt seem to have any trout in it

We have been to this site for the last 2 years and have booked already for next. The facilities are excellent and the site is ideal for families with just a short walk to a lovely clean beach, local pub or shop. There are regular buses into Newquay, or local walks along the cliffs.
This site has lots to offer and we would not hesitate in recommending it.
