Went for Easter weekend with my family who were in their caravans. To begin with, when we arrived, we were told by reception that we had cancelled! No we hadn't! Nevertheless, they weren't full so had no problems pitching us with EHU. However, the weather was very wet and windy and we were limited to pitches due to the ground being so very soft and sodden as a result. We did manage to pitch behind a big bush which sheltered some of the wind.
The toilet facilities are plentiful, there are toilet only blocks dotted around and a large shower block housing more toilets, showers, a laundry and a washing up area but the hot water wasn't that hot and the blocks weren't heated so you'd have to be brave to shower at this time of year! There is a bath that takes 50p to fill up with 'hot' water but I didn't use it to comment.
Next to reception is a shop. The shelves are a bit bare but it stocks the usual essentials, toys and newspapers and is open until 4.30pm every day.
The site is right on the cliff edge and due to the very sad coastal erosion, the site is slowly disappearing into the sea. The surrounding area is a bit grim due to the lack of business investment but the cafe nearby did a good cooked breakfast and Bridlington offers a nice day out at the amusements.
A basic, quiet site, best for statics and tourers but due to the very soft ground, not sure I'll take the tent again.

Just had a week here, the small toilet block had 4 toilets, you obtain your loo roll before going into the toilet, there are no hand drying or soap facilities here, dated and were homes for the moths and spiders. The pitches are quite large with plenty of room and seemed to be well drained.
The shower block was just showers, no hairdryer, mirrors, no seats in the cubicles and only 1 peg with no shower curtain, the water in the ladies was luke warm, to be honest I couldn't wait to get out. The washing up facilities were also on the small side, my children were even complaining about the size of the sinks as they were very tiny, ok for a couple but not for a family. The key to get into the showers and toilets was a nuisance especially with a family as when 1 goes no-one else can! The site is situated along the coast and we went for a walk along the beach, only to find empty beer cans and bottles waiting to be swallowed up with the sea, not very nice for young children. We spent no time at all on this beach.
However Ulrome and the surrounding areas are fantastic, we went to Bridlington, Scarborough, Hornsea, visited the RSPB at Bridlington, went to the church at Rudston with the biggest monolith 26ft standing stone, too much to do in a week. Collected loads of fossils, Ammonites, Nautilus, along with other bits. The beaches are beautiful. We would definitely visit the area again, but probably not the site.

We arrived late at the site but was still greeted by the very friendly owner who shown us to our pitch and EVEN helped us set up!
Our stay flew by and was very enjoyable. The beach was litrally insight of our tent and easy to get on to, the camp has a bar and a very nice fish and chip shop located on it as well as a near by camp that has an arcade, a swimming pool and much more on it.
The main town of Bridlington where you will find all the main atractions is only a bus ride or short taxi journy away.
We were especially happy with this camp site and the owner for accepting us as we were then a same sex group of four 18 year olds, most sites turn away young same sex groups but seaside caravan park were willing to trust us and I think we returned the favour by showing them we was just like any other guests at the park.
Great place owned by great people and highly recommended for a quiet break. Thanks seaside caravan park!

A few years since we have been here in our new tent, 2 adults and a child of 10. We asked to be put in the overspill field as it was a bit windy to be putting up on the cliff side!
There was a CCC rally on, temp holiday site, and so there were a few caravans and motorhomes, the thing to say is everyone with them were so friendly and would go out of there way with kindness, but never bothered us.
The kids can go around this site with bikes and drivers are aware they are around, I am happy to let my 10 year old wander round with the mates she has made. Kids have a lot of bikes on the site, and kites and they seem to love the freedom, mind does as she dosnt get much at home!
Toilets and showers good and clean, plenty of hot water to wash up as well. There is also a bath at the end of the showers that you can put money in and get plenty of hot water, and plenty of room to change and not get your new stuff wet! which is always what happens when I use the shower. There are 2 washing machines which cost £1.50 a wash but are big, there's a dryer but don't put more than one twenty pence peice in or you will end up standing with your finger on the drying button for some bizarre reason!
Shop is good, some stuff is more expensive, eg juice to dilute, but sausages are fresh and cheap! sells newspapers and milk which is good as we don't have a fridge and wernt on hook up.
Hook up for tents is available for £3 per night and I think we are going for this next time. We paid £15 per night for 3 of us, we didn't think this was to bad.
Beach can be reached by steep steps, but so near and good for mooching around looking for stones with the kids. There's a fab beach a few miles up called Fraisthorpe, if you drive you pay £2 to the man to park, the beach access is flat and easy, as my mum who visited couldn't manage the steps at Ulrome. My dad said that you can actually go where the village is signed and get to the beach that way and not pay! but for us it was okay and we got a hot drink when the heavens opened!
We had a good holiday, there for a week and came back with a tan even though it rained quite a bit! were going back in 3 weeks, and actually we have always gone here! no sense of adventure!
Ooh and fish and chip shop is fab, but the small amusements are now closed, but we used to go to the kingdom at skipsea sands on a night, don't need a pass either! you can walk there from your park in 10 mins.

Our first trip in our new (to us) caravan. We arrived quite late, around 8pm but were soon spotted by a regular who helped us out!
Toilets and shower block were very clean and plenty of hot water. Site is large but well spaced out with plenty of room between units. It was also relatively noise free at night which was good.
Site's location is good as we could walk onto the sands although the steps down are a bit tricky.
Owner was helpful and we enjoyed this site we have rebooked for a weekend in June. Would recommend this site if you want a peaceful site but close to the beach.

We have just spent the May Spring Bank weekend here and were very impressed overall. We booked at the last minute and they were able to accommodate us on short notice, we chose this site after reading the previous reviews.
The access to the site is good a long wide driveway, but there are speed bumps, so beware. We were booked in and were charged £ 65 for the three nights inc. The deposit for the loo key, not bad considering we have van, awning, 2 adults and three children on a bank hol. Weekend.
Although all the pitches are grass there is a tarmac road that runs throughout the site, we normally try and book hard standing, but this site does not have them, and we were concerned that the site would be muddy after all the rain, but we were very surprised to find the ground dry, they either have great drainage or it has been drier there than the rest of Yorkshire for the past few weeks!
We were given a large pitch but it did slope (pitch 149 - parents next door on 150 were fine) however we pitched side on rather than nose to the front pitch number and after a short discussion with the warden he agreed we were ok like that. Managed to level up and we were ok, the rows are divided by hedges which smelled lovely as they were in bloom. Electric point right behind and close to water and facilities and no one in front so all in all a good spot.
The toilets facilities are really good, I do note the comments about them being dated, which I think is a little unfair, as there are lots worse out there and there were plenty of them and they were immaculately clean and tidy and even though site was pretty much full, I never had to queue once. There are no seats in the showers, but I keep a little folding stool in the van for just such occasions, so no problem there for me.
The site is beach front and we did go out and have a couple of walks, but beware the erosion here is quite bad and the road is closed in one direction.
There is a shop on site for basics and it does sell newspapers too.
We had fish and chips from the chip shop just off site on the first night and as previous reviews they were delicious, they do leave the skin on the fish, so if you want skinless you have to ask, just worth a mention.
We visited Mr Moos ice cream dairy, which is just down the road and had big ice creams which were lovely too, they also run a small cafe there for light lunches.
The site is about a seven mile drive to Bridlington, but we think it was well worth it after driving past some of the sites closer to town and the vans were packed in row after row, not my thing, love to have the space around that this site offers.
The site also has a large playing field for ball games away from the pitches but surprisingly no play area (swings, slides etc).
So all in all we were very impressed and will definitely use it again.

Just returned from this site. The facilities are not modern but they are clean. The owner is friendly, all the people we spoke to who have static caravans on site are lovely and friendly. The area for tourers is right by the beach, with fantastic views. We enjoyed our stay, the fish & chip shop is still there (see earlier reviews)and still good. We certainly will be going back this and next year

We are regular visitors to this site, and really love it. The pitches are large and there is plenty of space around you. The facilities are basic, but very clean, and there are plenty available. The site is very quiet, and totally unspoilt. The site looks out over the beach ( via steps or down the small cliff), and Flamborough Head Light House. There is a Fish & Chip shop 5 minutes walk away, as well as a small amusements. This isn't the cheapest campsite we have been to, but is worth every penny if you're looking for peace and quiet, and kite flying time with the kids.

What can I say? This site has not changed in the slightest in the 14 years it has been since my last visit :o) Apart from loosing a fair amount of the site to the sea lol
If you're looking for peace and quiet and a site that has access to a beach where you can let your dog play to his/her heart's content, this is the place to go.
Staff friendly and helpful, facilities basic, but very clean.
We went to the chip shop just off site (which still has the same staff from 14 years ago lol)and enjoyed some of the best fish&chips I've ever had.
The only real problem is that we tried to walk up the main coast road to the amusements and pub etc. But found the road had all but fallen in to the sea and it was blocked off to cars and pedestrians. We presumed you had to walk through the Skipsea Sands site further up the road to get to the amusements.
Other than that, I would certainly recommend this site to anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle for a few days and relax.
I'll be going back here again.

I have been coming to this site since I was a baby, firstly with my parents & now with my own family. Things havent changed that much in 30 0dd years! Its a nice easy going, family friendly site, they even let you pitch near the cliff which is perfect for watching the kids(11 & 6) play on the safe beach from the comfort of your tent ( hope the health & safety brigade dont get wind of it!) Facilities at front pretty basic but clean & adequate, there is a larger toilet block with showers & washing up sinks further up the site.
