Nice site, convenient walking distance to zoo next door. Some pitches seemed very spacious, some not so much room, ours was quite a tight space due to water tap positions. Friendly staff, quite laid-back site rules. Very family orientated. Good children's play area. Great shop just across the road - sells most things. Very reasonably priced site pitches. Only one thing lets site down which is lack of toilet block / facilities during peak season, only one block & has to cover 2 camping fields (3 if there is a rally going on) other than that site is great for a weekend break.

We stayed here for August bank holiday and had a wonderful time!
With the Zoo just next door, it was so handy for the kids and we were able to spend the whole of Sunday there, watching all of the displays.
There is not very much else to see or do in Banham, but a 20min drive takes you to Diss, where there is a Morrisons and other shopping.
Again, only 40mins in the car, and you can get to Yarmouth, where we spent an excellent Bank Holiday Monday flying a kite on the beach in the glorious sunshine!
The campsite had several showers, and toilets - and although these were not extremely clean, they did do the job.

Me, my wife and our 3 kids along with another couple stayed at banham for 3 nights, I was overwhelmed by the size of the site. And even more so when I found the huge empty meadow behind the main hookup site!
Great for kite flying with the kids. Look out for falcons though, they like kites, lol. What a treat.
I found the sites facilities ideal for the price. The main central shower and toilet block are heavily used but we found a newer one in the corner near out caravan which was fine.
I,ll definitely be booking again. Also its within an hours drive from my house and as I hate being in crowded places the huge plots really swing it for me.
Oh and you gotta check out the cider house across the road near the londis shop. Superb.

Overall a very nice site, let down by toilet block (despite previous review comments!)
The pitches are very spacious and well maintained. The site has a nice open 'feel' about it and also lots of mature trees.
Ideal for children being next to the zoo, and able to get a repeat pass for further visits for an additional £3.
Back to the toilets (well, perhaps not!) the signage states that they are closed and cleaned twice a day, but no sign of this routine while we were there. They were occasionally 'cleaned' but it was very superficial. Pans and some seats left smeared with faeces. We were not happy for our children to use them. Other campers were making the same complaints. The site was not over busy, so no excuse.
Would we go again? Only if we got some reassurance on the state of the toilets.

We stayed at this site for 1 night. The site was pleasant enough and very convenient for a visit to Banham Zoo which is right next door. Whilst the site itself is ok, (the zoo is fantastic), we wouldn't use this site for longer than a weekend as it wasn't as well maintained and quiet as we would like for long stays.
As a previous reviewer has mentioned there is a function room on the site. Whilst there was a wedding on for the night of our stay, we did not get disturbed by music. However, the air conditioning unit/generator (not sure what!) on this function barn continued all day and all night, and became somewhat annoying. When camping we enjoy listening to sounds of wildlife (including those in the zoo) and unfortunately during our stay none of this could be heard over the droning noise.
There was also no recycling facilities provided and the toilets lacked maintenance (no lock on one of the showers, sinks blocked etc).
This site also does not allocate marked pitches for tents (we were in an open field in the centre of the site), and no guidance was provided to novice campers about pitching at a reasonable distance from other tents. Consequently we had a few close neighbours!

Stayed here for 2 nights, Friday and Saturday. The campsite was very clean and tidy, as were the toilet and shower blocks. We decided to stay here having read the reviews on this site. What no one had mentioned before was the fact that the campsite has a function room, and on the Saturday night there was a wedding on. Music went on until after midnight, then there was a lot of noise of people leaving, cars hooting etc, which was a shame as it ruined the otherwise very peaceful atmosphere. The local shop, pub and takeaway were all very good, as was the zoo itself. Would stay here again, but check if there was a party on first!

The pitches on this site are well maintained and give a lovely surrounding for your stay. The deal on Zoo entry is good and the Zoo provides a lot of interesting activities.
The local Londis shop is fairly comprehensive and reasonably priced considering its nearest competition is about 8 miles away.
The site has a problem with the maintenance of the toilet blocks. They claim to clean them twice daily however we repeatedly saw dirt being around for days at a time. One day there was even vomit in a sink in the ladies toilet that remained until the lunchtime cleaning session. If you don't mind showering in shoes - You may find them satisfactory.
There is a small playpark for older children and a small dog exercise area although your pooch will prefer to head out over the rally fields to the open area beyond.

Just come back from our 2 night break at this park. No one at check in so didn't know where to pitch??! Had to ring, got pitched with electric no problems at all. Site was not very busy as it is summer holidays, Found the zoo offer very good. Ended up at the zoo for 1 1/2 days. Opposite camp directly across the road was a Londis shop very well stocked, A restaurant /take away very reasonable and the pub all in a court yard. Very well thought out.
Toilets are very clean, showers are ok when they get going nice and hot.
The children enjoyed the playground on site. Really comfortable pitches as we had one big square to ourselves. Separated with hedges. No rubbish lying around and no doggie doo either.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a small break.
Best bits were listening to the animals as they are right at the back of you and watching the birds of prey flights from the zoo in the tent. Nice peaceful site.

Nice site. Spent 4 nights here as a base.
Showers and toilets are a bit old and drafty but clean and good temperature / pressure, even for toddlers. Only three showers in the gents but only had to wait a few minutes on one occasion. Site was half booked though, not full.
Nice mixture of tents, trailers, caravans big and small and a couple of (huge) motorhomes.
Pitch layouts were a bit strange. Ours was a great location but the three pitches in our bay all had the vans side on, not length on. Nice once you're in but getting a 26 foot twin axle van into a 30 slot was not that easy! Still, a chap over the way helped us push it in (cheers - nice guy) and once we were in it, the pitch was huge. We got the van, 21 x 8 awning, some space out front and still plenty of room for cars before the roadway. Very nice.
The Zoo was cool, kids loved that. Especially the gift shop. We used the norfolk diner (fast food) one night for convenience. It's not bad. Not michelin star quality but they do a mean pizza, nuggets and stuff the kids enjoyed.
Kids play park was fine for 3 and 5 year old and quite open so you could watch them from a short distance and sit on the grass.
Site was pretty quiet for us and there was no problems with late noise or stuff like that.
Shop is small with just basics but they had loads of different gas and I was able to get a refil pretty cheap.
The site is next to the Zoo. Be prepared for a few whiffs during the day but it's just good old fashioned animal smells, nothing major.
Would I go back? For a few days short break, yes for sure.

Check in was surprisingly quick, site was generally clean (although that dog owner really should have cleaned that up!) The shower block is cleaned twice a day so it was immaculate. Brilliant children's playground at the back of the site. A Londis opposite the site, which leads to well hidden further amenities (takeaway/restaurant, hairdressers, The Barrel PH). The pub had various ciders and real ales on when we went, and the food smelt fantastic. The zoo next door is great for all ages, (we went when it was the annual evening opening, so slightly cheaper tickets than usual). Site also has a massive car boot sale on Sunday mornings, but didn't hear any of this. The only noise which kept us up was the mooing cow from the 'Farm Barn' at the zoo! Moooooo!
