We stayed at this site for 3 nights on our first camping trip and were very impressed. The site managers were really friendly and made us very welcome. We were told to pitch wherever we liked away from EHU points. The grass was well kept and the ground was ideal for pitching. There were adequate toilets and showers which were always clean and an area with hot water for washing dishes. The site was peaceful and we had a very enjoyable stay. It was a perfect base for exploring Bath and Cheddar Gorge. The only drawback to the site was that it was next to the A37 and traffic noise could be a problem from about 5.30am on week days. However, this would not put us off from returning to such a welcoming site.

Just visited this site for a long weekend and would recommend it to all. The owners of the site are very friendly and always available. The site is very clean with modern toilet / shower block. The location is great for exploring, Chedder gorge, Wells and Glastonbury are all within half an hours drive. The only negative was that it rained all day on the Sunday, ah well you cant go away in May and expect all good weather. The cost for us was £15 per night for Two adults one child of two years and a Tent (no electric).

We stayed there for 2 nights for the ill fated Red Bull Air Race. Lovely site and pub/restaurant just over the road made up somewhat for our wasted rainy day sat on wet grass at Longleat . The toilets were clean the showers nice and hot the people that owned it very nice. Will def be staying there this year hopefully wiv grandson on his 1st camping trip and safari park trip.

Very friendly site, ideally situated for visiting many attractions in the area. We had a nightmare journey, stuck on the M6 in jams adding 4 hours to our journey, so we called the site to let them know we would be arriving very late. When we eventually arrived at 9pm we found the owners had waited for us and were ready with a friendly welcome. The local pub serves lovely, reasonably priced food and a great local cider (stronger than you think!).
Our only niggle would be that the shower cubicles were rather small, so be prepared for the cold, clammy hand of the shower curtain on you back!
Otherwise this is a recommended site and we would certainly visit again.

Not bad overall. Welcome was warm and friendly. The pitch was level and the ground took pegs easily with virtually no stones in the ground. However, the toilet block being kept locked became very irritating as we had one key between a family of four. The block was clean-ish at best. The showers were weak and there was often no hot water. I would not have described the toilet block as either modern or spotless. Noise was a bit of a problem. The road passing the site was busy from early morning and some families on site were loud late into the night, despite being asked. The management are not on hand at night. Dogs barking seemed non-stop, partly from off site but close enough to be a pain. The pub opposite is OK but the somerset waggon, about 3/4 of a mile away is worth the walk/drive.

Have Just spent 3 great nights at this excellent site. The couple who run this site are lovely. Very helpful & friendly. I must say I was a little worried about the potential noise after reading the other reviews, so I took some ear plugs with me, and can honestly say the noise was no bother.
The pub over the road was excellent. Good value.Great hospitality. There is even a separate room with pool table,& game machine to keep the kids happy.
Site was extremely clean and well kept. A nice touch was a number of picnic tables dotted around the site for campers use. Definately reccomend.

We stayed there last week in July for 9 nights, good base for touring around all the major sights. The entrance to the site is large and welcoming and access is via key card system on the entrance and exit and a one way system is in operation. We were warmly welcomed to the site and shown to our pitch, nice and flat all around the site. The toilet block was very clean and well equipped, 3 shower cubicles, shave points and mirrors. Small shop and reception selling the basics but no morning papers. 2 covered sink areas with hot water for washing pots or clothes and a chemical disposal point. The site itself was peaceful and pleasant and a credit to its owners. Our only gripe was that as the site got busy tents were pitched too close to each other, we were 4 feet from a tent at the back and 6 feet at the sides. Would we go back..... yes.

Disappointed really! Had all of the features of previous reviews however I understand that the site has changed hands recently. There seemed to be little monitoring of the site, we had noise from groups until past 2 o'clock both mornings. The electric showers in the men's were great however there was only 1 shower working in the women's facilities. There was always a wait! Also the hand towels and toilet paper had always run out by teatime. There was no hot water available at the wash basins or the wash up area over the entire weekend. Not sure we'll bother again.

An absolutely splendid site. The facilities are of the highest calibre and the field is well maintained with a great deal of space. The owner is an extremely friendly chap who actually gave us a lift to a wedding on the Sunday (45min drive). Would recommend this site to anyone. Great.

We stayed at the site for 2 nights on our way back from Dorset. The site is ideal for a base for visiting, Glastonbury, Cheddar, Bath etc. The entrance to the site and the field with large trees is picturesque, and well kept but the hardstanding area for caravans is a little overgrown and untidy, some old dirty vans are being stored there, which lets the site down somewhat. The campsite has new owners, they told us they had been there for 4 months, and they are clearly tidying up and improving the site but I appreciate that this takes time. The toilets are clean, but I dont quite understand the rave reviews they have previoulsy been given (again this may have changed). I think though for £13.00 a night for 2 adults with electric is pretty good in high season, and we wish the new owners well in their project.
