Stayed here 4 nights on the way home to unwind after a very busy holiday.
Site was as you would expect from a Caravan club site- immaculate, and the toilets were in pristine condition.
Nice walk in the woods and nice to see there were no land mines considering it is also a dog walk. Nice child friendly park with a small play park in the corner which kept the kids entertained.
In inverness, there is everything that you could wish for. If you like shopping then visit the several retail parks around the city or visit the eastgate centre. All the main supermarkets can be found in the city with easy access to most places.
The aquadome at Bucht park is excellent if you like liesure pools and the ice skating is a lot of fun too. Whilst at Bucht park go for a lovely walk along the river ness, or take a ride on the miniture railway or take a row on the boating pond at Whin park. Whin park is also a massive kids play park
Outside of Inverness why not take a boat trip up loch Ness, or a boat trip to see the Moray Firth Dolphins. They can also bee seen from Chanory Point. The black Isle wildlife park is also fun for the kids where they can hand feed most of the animals there

Lovely site and well maintained. Stayed for 2 nights but wish I had booked another night or 2. Speedy and pleasant check in by wardens.
Toilet block is pristine, always clean and plenty hot water.
Laundry on site is averagely priced at £3 a wash but takes a huge load and after touring for a week I needed to use it.
As always with these sites there's not much to do for kids apart from a small play area in bottom corner which my girls were too big for.
Phone signal was very poor and we couldn't use our 3G pay and go either. Didnt watch tv so cant comment on tv signal.
Weather was wet so we went to Inverness and found a huge retail park and went to cinema.
Would definitely return and go to the battlefield next time.
Im wondering if anyone has experienced any paranormal activity in their vans??!

We stopped here one night en route for the Orkneys and Shetland - and it was pretty busy! The site is only about 10 minutes off the A9 and very peaceful after a long days driving. We were booked in quickly and found a pitch which required levelling blocks although the majority of pitches look pretty level.
The facilities are immaculate and the whole site is kept in pristine condition. Because we were only staying a night we didn't have a chance to tour locally - and there's lots to see - but we were close enough to the tip of Loch Ness to have a look and then pop in to Inverness for a meal and a wander.
Definitely recommend this site for a night or longer.

Usual Caravan Club Facilities. Toilets being refurbished this year. Dog walk in woods along side site is a commercial woodland operation and is not a pleasing off site walk. The site is alongside the road and farmland so no feeling of being out there. I did feel that there was too many notices telling you what to do and not do in a stern way.
We only stayed one night. Good site for Inverness.
The site is very close the Culloden battlefield which is situated just along the road.
Well located off A9 for those travelling North/South

Cracking little site, that is well worth a visit. The wardens have to be rated as the friendliest and most helpful we have come across when using Club sites. They saw us struggling to push the van onto the pitch and immediately came over to give us a hand. As we left, they came out to wish us a safe journey and gsve the boys a couple of bars of chocolate.
The site is about 5 miles from Inverness, there is a bus service not too far from the entrance we didn't use it as the parking in Inverness itself is incredibly cheap when compared to other places (take note Mansfield District Council!). The shop has very basic groceries and a man with a van visits on Wed, Thurs and Fri, he sells locally produced items, we had the venison and home made burgers and they get a big thumbs up.
There is a small play park for the kids to burn off that excess energy. Some of the piches slope, so levelling blocks may be needed. The shower block was clean but a bit dated, there are signs up saying it will be revamped in October 2012. No internet access and some mobile networks struggle to get a signal.
Lots to do in the area, the Culloden battle site is about a mile away and has a very interesting visitor centre. On the road to Nairn is Fort George and is also well worth a visit. Scotland has a lot and I mean a lot of whiskey distilleries that you can visit if that sort of thing floats your boat.
Loch Ness is just on the door step, we drove right around the loch and whilst we didn't see Nessie, we did see a family of Roe deer cross the road just in front of us and the scenery is just stunning.

Site - easy drive to site, straight in off the road, slopes from top to bottom, better to be facing down the hill if it rains as water collects at the bottom of the site and along the bottom edge of a lot of the pitches which have their rear going downhill. Pitches tend to be level left to right, but slope quite a bit front to rear. 1 toilet block. Tent area on grass. Pitches are divided by grass and levels by shrubs. Surrounded by trees and forest. B road runs along bottom of site but not noisy.
Only just along the road is the Battlefield site good value if National Trust member.
Great food van visits the site 5pm ish Wed/Thur/Fri. Sells fresh food and veg, glorious smoked fish from Uist. Wonderful cheeses all from small specialist suppliers.
Inverness - Oh boy has it changed, ok so maybe it is 25 years since my last visit. But dual carriageways and four tesco's! I decided to go into town early one morning so I could easily park and do a quick bit of touristy shopping.
I started queueing about 5 miles out, no signs for carparks until almost on top of them, Tourist information has internet access. Couldn't find the shops I was after, so queued to leave, and then saw the shops as I was driving out. Grrrr.
Fort George - Very interesting if that is your thing, great views, dogs allowed, although not inside the buildings, nice cafe. Good day out.
Culloden Battlefield - National Trust for Scotland, free for English members. Good cafe, interpretation centre and can have a recorder based on GPS so will tell you things about the site whichever way you decide to wander, dogs allowed but not inside.
Wardens - pleasant and helpful chatty
Dog Walk - out the gate and straight into forest, acres and acres.
Washroom - Ok but dated, due to be upgraded October 2012.

This site has good access from both the A9 and the A96. The site is on 2 levels, the higher level having better views towards the hills. Few if any pitches are level so you need to adjust accordingly. Water and waste facilities all fine. You have the choice of 2 Tesco stores within a 5 minute drive from the site, and a new Asda, again a 5 minute drive from the site, is due to open shortly. During our recent stay it rained non stop for 2 days and as a result there was quite a lot of standing water on the site, especially on some of the lower level pitches. The site is a great base for touring - you have Loch Ness on the doorstep, and some fantastic scenery west and north should you wish to venture further afield.
Depending on your lifestyle the following could be either positive or negative: TV reception with caravan aerial nil (unless you have satellite) therefore you need a fly lead to connect to the site's distribution system which requires you to tune it via your tv's analogue set up, and you only get 4 channels. Vodaphone worked (albeit painfully slow for emails), whilst 3 and Orange don't work at all.
If you want to get away from it all then this is a great place. Others have commented on the proliferation of signs - we certainly never saw that, and the wardens did exactly what was expected of them, although the lady wardens, in conversation with lady guests, were rather critical of us males.

To Find Site:- Exit A9 onto the B9177 and follow signs for Culloden Moor and Croy. Once past the Culloden Moor visitors centre the site is on the left about a mile further on.
This campsite, which has nice views of the surrounding hills, is about a mile from the site of the famous battle of Culloden. Non-members are welcome and there is an area set aside for tent campers. The site slopes down towards the road meaning that levelling blocks for corner steadies are usually needed. The site has 97 pitches most of which are on hardstandings. There is one central toilet block which whilst kept perfectly clean and serviceable is of the older variety. There are a couple of service points around the site but there are some pitches which are a long way from water/waste/toilet disposal. For children there is a nice play area in one corner of the site. Electric bollards have a TV hook-up and Reception sell co-ax cables as well as a few other essentials. Mobile phone signals on this site are poor to non-existent, certainly no signal for Virgin Mobile although I did see some people wandering around with a phone to their ear. I did manage to get a weak GPRS signal on my Vodafone dongle. There is a pay phone at Reception but this is expensive to use.
There are many opportunities for excursions from this site. The nearest from the site is the Culloden Moor Battlefield which is about a 35 minute walk from the site with a footpath all the way. The National Trust for Scotland have a large visitor centre with lots of information. The Black Isle and Loch Ness are not too far. For shopping there are a couple of supermarkets in Inverness, about 5 miles from the campsite, the nearest being Tesco which also sells fuel.

We stayed at this site mainly because it was near to the Scottish Open at Castle Stuart - which is about a 15 minute drive away. Site was very easy to find and has barrier entry.
The lovely city of Inverness is about a 10 minute drive away. On the outskirts of Inverness there is a large shopping centre with Tesco etc.
The toilets were up to the usual CC high standards.
The pitch we were on was sloping a little bit and after all the freak torrential rain in July it was starting to flood at the bottom end.
More by good luck than good judgement we had pitched near the top end and were not swimming.
The only bad points about Culloden Moor that we found were that there was no digital tv signal and no Virgin mobile signal.

It would have been helpful to have had a store of wooden blocks on site as our pitch was very sloped indeed, although as we were at the top, the views were very good. There is an officious feel to it but we actually came to appreciate it. We realised that on other sites people are driving much too fast, and with young children roaming about, so we applaud the wardens for being very firm. A little too far on the 'wrong' side of Inverness for us and we did feel it was a tad costly.
