Access to the site is easy and there is a fob operated barrier for security. The site is sloping and pitches are virtually all hardstanding. It is nicely landscaped and immaculately maintained and we got a very friendly greeting on arrival.
The pitching areas were divided by wire fences, which could mean a long walk to the shower block. The shower block was a strange dark red colour and old-fashioned. Also it was closed for cleaning much longer than comparative Caravan Club sites.
Fantastic location for touring in all directions - the Black Isle Brewery is worth finding for an interesting experience! The Culloden Battlefield would be expensive if you're not National Trust members. Fort George covers a huge site and gives a fascinating insight to the history of the time. The whole area abounds in wildlife. There are seal-spotting laybys along the A9 north of Inverness.
There are two Tesco superstores within a 10 min. Drive of the site along with various takeaways. A forest next to the site provides miles of dog walking and there is a play area on site for children.

I was very pleased to find late availability here. I did however feel that it was on the pricey side - even for a member - 2 adults a van with EHU about £18 per night and if you're not a member its about £25 per night - and lets face it at that price a b&b / cheap hotel could work out better value.
Price aside the site was beautifully kept and even exceeded my expectations of a Caravan Club site. It enjoys good views over the valley from the top of the site (where the wardens had suggested was the best spot) but I should imagine you could get disappointed with the view from the lower end of the site. The slope of the site is fairly steep and I was glad of my levelling blocks.
The wardens were friendly and managed a laugh and a joke when we arrived, together with some valued advice on caravanning in the expected windy conditions - I mention this because all too many Caravan Club site wardens appear unhappy and unhelpful. The warden even went to the trouble of asking before he unplugged the hook up cables to mow the grass, and then plugged us back in again.
There is some road noise at the site, but nothing excessive, although it was a shame to have to put up with a large JCB working next door on the only sunny day we had! Inverness is just a short drive away with a large Tesco and a Morrissons and all the other 'big city' shops.

I think the wardens at this site must have got a printer for Xmas. There were signs everywhere - mostly of the 'do not.' variety. Unusually the office isn't manned during the peak arrival time and a notice tells you to find a pitch and register later.
There are some level pitches (we found one on our stopover on the return leg of our tour) but they are few and far between and with a folding van this led to some difficulties.
The facilities were fine but rather dark inside due to rather unusual red paint everywhere.
There is lots to see and do in the area. We went on the black isle and saw dolphins and had a scenic drive down loch Ness but didn't see nessie!
The Culloden battle ground is close and the visitor centre very informative but like previous reviewer we felt that to charge for parking AND entrance was a bit much.

Having used this lovely site on many occasions over several years, there has been a change of atmosphere. There is an abundance of safety signs all over the site all read what you should not and can’t do.
What was once a welcoming and friendly site has now become cold and unfriendly: where campers must live to a very strict code eg. Young children caught cycling faster than the 5 mph limit will be pulled up and reprimanded. While we appreciate and accept the need for rules this has been taken to the extreme. We have visited several club sites this year and this is the only one which is being policed in this over zealous manner.
This site is perfect for visiting Inverness and the surrounding areas but in comparison to other sites the toilet block is in need of refurbishing.
If you stay here be prepared to follow every rule to the letter!

Having Toured the West Coast from Fort william up to Durness I'd stayed in a good variety of sites in the preceding two weeks. Sorry but this was one of the LOW points of the trip.
Firstly it claims to have a glorious View of the Nairn Valley which it doesn't and it might be gently sloping for a towed caravan with on board levelling jacks but it was the worst of all the sites I visited. Then there are the bizarrely placed Electric hook up points that stretched my cable (way too long everywhere else) to it's limit. We had to pay a standard £7 non members fee on top of the site fee. For this we got what?
The only thing this site had that none of the others had was DOZENS of officious notices that was totally in contrast to the friendly and relaxed attitude we found in every other site we visited. The grounds are well kept. There were all sorts of pointless petty restrictions on what could be done where and two huge signs barring skates or scooters near the toilet block seemed to be aimed at .Well who?
The toilets did have some good points, privacy cubicles with a sink etc. For those wanting more than a shave but less than a shower, but my one visit for a 'comfort call' found a wet floor and you can actually get soft toilet paper now you know? If you want to visit Culloden battleground and you are a CC member it's probably OK but for me it was the worst value for money of the entire holiday.

As other reviews, the site is kept very clean and tidy. The site was full during our stay but the toilet and shower facilities were not busy. The site is an ideal stop for touring the Inverness area, and not too far from Loch Ness. There is the Culloden Battlefield to visit although I were surprised at the charge for parking. Also near by is a Tesco for you shopping and a Matalan.
Although the site was full and we were near the road/park it was not too noisy and we also saw red squirrel.

Let's face it, this is a site that shows all others how it should be done, brilliant, a credit to the wardens. Spotless site, loos and facils, as per many CC sites, loos and showers were never too busy when we were there and the site was almost full.
Not much activity local to the site but there is a bar (not tested) about 15 mins walk away, it looks like a detention centre for young offenders if you are passing. Culloden visitor site (expensive but good at £10 a head with £2! parking, includes GPS guide to the battle zone and guide demonstration of rifles) is near and so are some other features like the impressive rail viaduct and some interesting ancient burial sites.
A number of trees cover various areas of the site including the centre so if you use satellite TV, pick your pitch near the top or back of the site for a better signal. TV reception (normally pants in this area) can be provided at the pitches by an aerial cable connected at the electric point but these seemed to be used up, there being less aerial sockets than pitches.
A good location for venturing around the Inverness area, we will return.

Culloden Moor is a well kept, slightly sloping site with all the high standards you expect from the Caravan Club. It was virtually empty in early November, but I imagine that the single loo block could be very busy in high season.
Although it is handy for visiting various attractions such as Inverness, the Culloden battlefield and visitor centre and Cawdor castle, there isn't much in the immediate area. For a Motorhome owner who doesn't always want to pack everything away just to drive off site, this makes the site less attractive.
Still, if you're in the Inverness area, I would recommend it for a short stay.

Lovely campsite, slightly sloping. Well kept. All hardstanding for caravans. Was allowed to pick my pitch probably because it was November and not busy. Large pitches. Clean loos, hot showers, adjustable, no push button here, vanity stalls also and a stool in the showers. I agree with another reviewer who said it can be windy the caravan was rocking, but it was november! Still a good few caravans on site for november. Really nice, helpful wardens. Nearest shop selling papers, rolls etc was in Croy three miles away. 2 Tesco's, one of them 24 hours, 6 miles away at Inverness. Barrier card to enter sit, no deposit required for it. A visit to Nairn beach a must, beautiful white sands, gorgeous. There was a pub along the road doing food all day but didn't go into it. Would definitely go back.

Usual CC facilities all very clean and site well kept, warden must be keen gardener as lots of lovely colourful pots of plants. Site is sloping. Not much shelter so quite windy at times, peg down your awning well. Plenty to see in the area, good shopping in Inverness.
