We arrived without a booking on the Thursday before the August bank holiday, we got a pitch without a problem and the lady on the reception was very welcoming and friendly.
The weather men said Hurricane Bill would have passed through by the time we arrived but the wind did get very, very strong, you need good pegs and guide ropes for this site, its perhaps the windiest I've ever been to. There were a couple of tent casualties while we were there.
There is a shop on site which is handy, selling food and camping bits that you may have forgotten, it now sells bacon and sausage butties in the morning which is great.
My only gripe with the site is the lack of toilet roll and soap, I think the least you can do is provide these in the toilets if you are charging a family of four nearly twenty quid a night. Toilet roll was provided but ran out very quickly, there is only four toilets and the site can hold a large number of people in its many fields.
There is a club on the edge of the site and it is a real sanctuary during the windy weather, it sells food which is O'K, and they also now have sky sports which they resisted for years. The previous owner Bert has recently died unfortunately but his son has taken over and is doing a good job along with his friendly staff.
Triadurr is a lovely place to visit with beautiful beaches and very close to Holyhead if you need to visit the real world with a tesco, morrisons, mc donalds etc. Although there is a spar and a co-op of sorts for anything you need desperately, there is also golf, and a snooker hall which we have used through the years on those wet n windy days.
All in all a pleasant site which I would return to, I think a childs play area would be a good addition along with the elusive soap and toilet roll.

Tyn Rhos is a pleasant enough site in lovely surroundings. We stayed there for two nights in a tent with our two young children.
The facilities are basic but adequate and spotlessly clean. There was always plenty of hot water for washing up and loo paper was supplied. I did find the showers a little cramped and there weren't many areas to place clothes / towels etc and I had to leave most of my stuff on the sinks outside. Even a few extra hooks would help! Another small gripe was that the showers were locked at 9.30 in the evening but there was no sign to notify you of this.
The owner was friendly but we only saw her when she came to collect money late morning. The reception/shop was closed when we arrived at about 4pm in the afternoon (and indeed I didn't see it open during the whole of our stay - but this might be different in peak season). This meant that we weren't able to buy tokens for the shower when we needed them on the first day.
There is a clubhouse just next to the site which provides decent food at reasonable prices. It lacked atmosphere but provided a welcome retreat from the rain.
Just to comment on a couple of things raised in other reviews:
1) Wind - there were strong winds throughout North Wales when we were there but we still managed to find quite a sheltered spot. (Though the people in the caravan alongside us were struggling to erect their awning).
2) RAF Planes - yes, these went over fairly regularly but not at unsociable hours and didn't disturb us. In fact, our little boy loved them!
All in all, a reasonable site. We enjoyed our stay there and would go back (though we might check out other sites in the area first).

Called the site before we left and was told they had space.
Arrived and was shown our pitch and where to put ehu. Very nice lady and gent running the place. I did see them cleaning toilets and keeping on top of the rubbish.
This site is well kept, Although the showers are basic and not much room, 2 sinks 3 showers a bit shabby, but clean.
The loos were kept clean and was not always stocked with loo roll.
The shop on site was ok but does not stock basic stuff, sells hot bacon baps and stuff like that.
The club house is a bit pricey for drinks we only went once.OK if you must watch football.
Good place to stay as you can walk to the beach ok going down a bit of a pull going back up.
We had a mix of sun and rain.
Spar shop 1 mile away, morrisons supermarket by car about 3 miles,
When we had the rain we jumped in the car and drove around the island. Red Dwarf Bay was a nice spot to visit as you can fish off the cliffs or have walks on the huge beach. Also south stack to see the puffins and the light house.
All in all I would recommend this site and will stay here again.

Ty'n Rhos is a large mainly level site and you can choose your own pitch. Although it is a large site the noise levels are low and it is very family friendly.
The on site shop, which is also the booking in office, provides groceries and other basics along with beach goods and camping equipment. We even managed to buy a dog tether spike there!
The staff are very friendly, helpful and security conscious-the main gate is locked from 23:00 'til 07:00.
The toilets are clean but take your own loo roll as it's not always available. Tokens can be purchased for the showers which are kept clean. The washing up room is kept very clean with plenty of hot water available.
200yds up the lane from the site is a club house that serves basic food, allows children and dogs and has a very friendly atmosphere.
There are lovely beaches in the area and a relaxing walk along the cliffs offers spectacular views of the Trearddur coastline.
If returning to a site many times is a recommendation, then we highly recommend Ty'n Rhos.

A lovely site, as others mentioned the couple on reception couldn't be more welcoming. We went initially for a 4 night break and hadn't booked anything, we were 2 families together so we rang to check and we were reassured we could get on.
We were lucky enough to be away during the extremely hot weekend so we decided to stay on, we literally booked as we went and the beauty of this site is not to be rushed off first thing in the morning, we left after tea a week later and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the coves over the hill from the campsite. We took our dog and she was able to go on the local coves which was really useful.
My only gripe would be the lack of toilets(4) and toilet roll, they seemed to only half fill the unit so it was always running out, and the showers (3) if busy the queue would be awful.
A lovely big site with various fields and very helpful staff. Will definitely return.

Just spent one night on this fantastic site. The site is excellent for families with young children. Lots of space for them to play. When we arrived the owner and his partner were very warming and welcoming. She said to have a drive around the site and pitch where we wish. As we were driving around we did notice large groups of campers camped together and thought it was going to be a bit rowdy, how wrong were we, the site was so peaceful and quiet after 10pm. The toilets and showers were very clean. (If I had to be fussy the only negative for myself personally would be that they need an extra toilet/shower block, as I went for a shower last night and there was 7 ladies in front of me so I decided to leave it as we were only there for one night). I think this would of been a pain if we had stayed longer as I believe I would of waited about 1 and 1/2 hours to get a shower! I don't want to put anybody of as this site really is lovely. The views from the site can be excellent. We did notice that it is very windy and had 'fun' putting up our new tent. I would definitely recommend this site.

We spent 4 nights here and the owners are very friendly and helpful, it was nice and quiet and the view from the top of the hill is amazing. Although it is VERY windy at the site, If your planning on going make sure you have a strong tent! There is a pub at the top of the site which the food there was really nice.
The Local area is clean and tidy the beaches are amazing too. Would visit the site again in the future but I think I will pitch my tent where it is less windy!

Great site
Clean, family orientated, well situated for amenities.
Helpful managment / staff and a really nice site
Watch out for the wind if your pitching a tent - seems that certain parts of the site can really catch it.

I chose Tyn Rhos as I wanted a quiet site for a short break- it is a lovely site and for me the facilities were fine. There were only 5 occupied vans there at the time and we were the only tent. The managment were very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough to help. But. This isn't a criticism of the site but a warning- this is a VERY windy site- in normal conditions it would be manageable but we had bad weather which culminated in one very windy night, leaving a written off tent (ripped canvas and twisted steel poles). If you do go here, then try as much as you can to find a sheltered spot- there aren't many though- the wind blows directly from the coast so pitch accordingly (and avoid the club field, attractive as it is).
The only other thing to add is that this site is near to RAF Valley, so you can expect so fly overs by fast jets (9am til 5pm). Personally, this was no problem, and we were even treated to a Red Arrows practice display a few thousand feet up but if you want pure peace, you may want to think on this.

My boyfriend and I had decided to go on an impromptu camping trip to Anglesey for the August bank holiday. After a little research into the camping sites in the area and without making any prior booking, we loaded up the tent into the car and were on our way. Tyn Rhos was the first campsite we came to. Based at the end of a long winding road and just a short walk away from some beautiful beaches. We were really blessed with the weather too, which made some of the scenery even more picturesque.
In the end we were quite fortunate to find a pitch as the site was clearly very popular. It is made up of approximately five large fields full of tents, caravans and static homes near the entrance. There were hookups available for those that desired them. Facilities included an on site shop with very friendly, easy going and helpful staff as well as the showers, a washroom for your dirty dishes, a children's play area and a clubhouse. All you could possibly need really for an enjoyable stay. Kids were able to roam around in safety and everyone was able to relax and have fun and be able to leave their tent during the day, safe and secure in the knowledge that it would be left alone. At night a watchman and his dog roamed the area to keep an eye on things. I was pleasantly surprised at how cheap it was to stay there and would have no hesitation in returning. If I was being picky, I would say that they need to increase the shower block to reduce the queueing when it is really busy and also distribute the portable toilets around the campsite so less distance for others to walk. Otherwise we had a fabulous time and I really recommend Tyn Rhos as a very very good campsite to visit, it has all you could ask for.
