Yet another return to this lovely site. Everything you need is right here to enjoy a peaceful, back to nature stay. Toilets/showers very clean. Lovely walks with the dog. Another meal at the pub by the river. All quiet on the site at beginning of June, you really do feel as if you're away from it all here. Plenty of space to pitch your tent we love the privacy the little well laid out trees and bushes provide. We'll be back for sure.

If you like dogs, and use your own facilities this is a great site. Situated near The Maybush and the River Deben. Nicely spaced pitches and you can have fire-pits and BBQ's so a plus.
BUT the facilities are disgraceful, appalling. You are paying for these. Bins full and overflowing, wasps everywhere. Signs to site and reception could be clearer.
Man on phone when I booked was unhelpful.

Site is easy to find just off the A12 near Ipswich with good access. We were placed in an area with just three electric points as there were three of us, which provided a great deal of privacy. There was a water point in our area too, and the price of £15 per night included our two dogs and an awning, so excellent value. We didn't use any of the facilities but have been informed that they could do with some upgrading but were sufficient for purpose. The site is heavily grassed with a couple of large open areas w/out electric for tents and smaller hedged areas for other units with electric hook ups. The site felt very spacious and was well kept with an abundance of blackberry bushes around its boundaries, goal posts and some wooden pods. Unfortunately we were placed directly behind one of the large tent areas and were subject to three very noisy nights, which well exceeded the 11pm noise curfew. There was hardly any road noise and it was about a 20-min walk to the pub, which sits right on the edge of the estuary and has lovely views of the moored boats. There is also a very small beach, but be warned it gets very muddy when the tide is out! We will probably not be returning as we prefer to camp near larger beaches but the site was very good and definitely value for money.

What a lovely site. It is perfect if you would like a quiet little hideaway. Very well maintained with adequate toilet & shower facilities. Site is very large so you can find a nice little hideaway very easily. Lovely lady greeted us & showed us the way to where we could put our caravan. If your children like wide open space which is safe this would be ideal. You must say hello to the two lovely porky pigs & the numerous chickens. We will definitely be going there again & advise you to try it out. You won't be disappointed.

A lovely spacious site with friendly, cheerful and helpful owners. It was enjoyable to pick our pitch from the many nooks amongst the trees and hedges. The toilets, showers and washing up area were basic but clean and perfectly adequate. There were not many facilities but we knew this before we booked and we didn't need anything. Our children, aged 5 and 2, happily played for hours climbing trees, creating nature 'sculptures' and searching for Peter Rabbit!
As we only went for a weekend we did not need to visit local attractions but there is plenty to do in the area and Woodbridge, the nearest main town, has everything you would need (although it can be a little pricey). There is a large Tesco's nearby and an M&S food store.
Look out for the painted tree root near the entrance which our children loved and nicknamed 'Scary' - we had to say good morning and good night each day!

A very spacious site, run by Chris, who was very helpful. This was our first time camping as a family and we forgot to bring a lead for the electric hook up. We were able to borrow a lead from the owners, and took us to our pitch.
The showers was hot, and was close to the loos. Free range eggs were available, great for breakfast.
The cost was great value as we did have a large tent and porch, and may well visit again if we decide to visit this area again.

Very quiet site, which was lovely. But we wouldn't return due to the overall neglect of the site. The toilets and shower areas were very dirty, although there was plenty of hot water. Where we camped the grass needed cutting badly as unfortunately you couldn't see the dogs poo. A cheap campsite but you get what you pay for.

We have now visited Low Farm twice this year once in May and once in September both visits were relaxing and memorable. At the site you are greeted by a lady who will guide you to your chosen area, either in the hook up areas or the excellent wild camping area. We prefer the wild camping area with its woodland wind breaks and space. There are no pitches as such you find a place you like and park. The ground is gravelly so drains well and even after a rain shower it dries very quickly and we have not had any problems with moving our motorhome even after a rain shower. There are excellent walks down to the river and along to the Maybush pub (a bit expensive but excellent food) if you come out of the gate and walk down Fishpon Road its a lovely walk to the Maybush along a footpath to the river, or you can go down School Road direct to the Maybush. I would recommend this site to anybody who wants a very relaxing break.

We have just had a great week at Low Farm - due to the glorious weather and the campsite.
The campsite is a serious of fields broken up by hedges, bushes and trees - and you can set-up anywhere. We found our own glade surrounded by trees and bushes and so it was very private.
Site run by a nice and helpful lady.
Only downsides are that there are only two showers on site, although more toilets, and so you do sometimes have to wait in a mornings and the neighbouring golf course's green-keepers do cut their grass early in the morning.
That said the wet-rooms are nice and clean and if you pitch away from the course then its not a problem.
Nice walk down to the Maybush pub on the banks of the Deben Estuary. Walk out of the gate, turn left, turn left at the bend and keep going straight on down a bridleway which then takes you down the side of the estuary. About a 20 mins walk. Food a bit pricey but lots of it and very well presented so quite good value.
Hidden gem is to follow the viewpoint signs in Felixstowe to a nice shingle beach with cafe where you can watch the port working. Dog friendly beach as well.
Would return.

Just come home from a glorious weekend at Low Farm and I'm sure we'll return at some point! We were met by the lady owner who showed us round the site - we followed her in the car - definite advantage because, as she pointed out, this site is a bit unique in it's set up. There are some hook up pitches but we headed to the 'wildlife' area at the back, the appeal being peace and quiet. It's basically a huge field with some mown areas, loads of gorse bushes and plenty of nooks to hide away in. We were told to just find a spot we liked, give everyone else some elbow room and pitch up - great! We loved the fact that we had loads of space, weren't overlooked and felt like we had our own little corner. There were some large groups on site, we tend to avoid clusters of tents because of the potential noise but on this site groups could really tuck themselves away if they were considerate enough to do so and not bother anyone. As mentioned by previous reviewers the facilities are basic; however everything functions, there was always soap and loo roll and the showers were great - all that we need when we're camping. We paid £12 per night which I would say is a fair price for the site.
We went to the fantastic Orford Ness, stopped in Budgens Woodbridge for a food top up and also did a great walk along by the sailing club and on to Hemley and Newbourne. The countryside is beautiful and very accessible from major routes while still maintaining a very rural feel.
All in all we really liked the site - the owners were friendly and helpful, checked up on things without being 'in your face', the site layout is unique and brilliant - much more pleasant than a nearby large forest site that we've stayed on in the past. If you like clubhouses and entertainment then it's not for you, if you want rural peace and quiet then I'd definitely recommend - another site to add to our list of gems!
