Excellent little site - large camping field with plenty of spots for tents to hide away at the top of the field with nice big open areas for the kids to play games. Had just been mowed before we arrived.
The toilets were clean and tidy - nice hot showers. Staff were helpful - we were allowed to pitch up where we wanted, and a lady came round to collect what we owed and check everything was ok later on that evening. Nice and relaxed atmosphere! They sell calor gas for reasonable prices so that was a bonus when we ran out!
My parents also stayed on the site, but they stayed in one of the holiday cottages - I think they have five of them in total on the site. The one my Mum and Dad stayed in was very nice. Allowed them to have a holiday with us, but they didn't have to stay in a caravan (not their thing). I was told that the cottages are all being redecorated. Looked very nice - we did have a look around a couple. Nice courtyard, quiet and secluded.
The river is only a short walk down the road - nice beach and nice pub! The campsite is nice and quiet, but its really not too far from everything needed - Tescos is 5 minutes drive up the road. Golf course 1 minute up the road if that is your cup of tea!
Overall a really nice campsite; basic, but I really think this is the attraction! Camping how it should be!

Dont be fooled by other reviews, just had bank holiday weekend there. Wasn, t full I wonder why?. Greated by nice lady who took us to our pitch, very nice but noticed that a group of 4 families were turning up the next day. Hence we had two rather noisy nights, use your common sense site owners you don't mix families and couples on their own in the same vicinity! it was a massive field, as for the toilets, what a disgrace, nobody came to clean them all weekend I showered in my flip flops! cobwebs looked like they had been there for years and the floors were disgraceful. The only good thing was the beautiful weather and lovely friendly pigs who no doubt love living in that environment! I will not be returning.

We love this site. However, this time we stayed there was a family with an off-road buggy spoiling the peace and quiet. I'm hopeful this is just a one-off! Intend to return again, crossing fingers that buggy family have gone some place else!
Once again the owner/manager is pretty laid back and arrived in her car as we were putting the tent up. As everyone knows the rain has been something else this year but the site is well drained enough to accommodate this.
We always use the 'wild' part of the field. The more child friendly part is located near all the facilities and it feels really very safe.

To be fair, the facilities are basic at Low Farm, but we prefer to be self-contained so don't look for sites with fancy toilet blocks, restaurants and funfairs. What matters most to us is peace and quiet, and the site was wonderfully peaceful. We were extremely happy throughout our weekend stay, and would have loved to have been able to stay longer.
As has been mentioned by other reviewers, the owners take a relaxed and informal attitude towards camping, and we were able to pitch where we wanted on arrival. Someone popped round a few hours later to make sure we were alright, and said we could either pay now or later.
Ipswich is just a couple of miles away, so just about any facility you need is readily accessible locally. Despite this, you feel as though you are in the middle of nowhere.
We'll certainly visit the site again.

This is a lovely quiet site with plenty of space to get away from it all and unwind. You get the feeling of being in the middle of a rural location but there are towns and villages nearby if you want them.
The showers/toilets are basic but fine and the owner is very friendly and accomodating.
There is a fantastic pub called the Maybush in Waldringfield on the river. Woodbridge is about 10 minutes away by car and well worth a visit.
We are a family of four with two young children and we are looking forward to going back in the Spring/Summer.

We loved this site which we booked only the day before going. We are occasional rather than seasoned campers and appreciated the space on this site, both for privacy (lots of shrubs and bushes) and the open space for ball games etc.
It says 35 pitches but there is so much space I'm sure you could turn up and they'd accommodate you. Those with caravans etc were based near the entrance and the electric hook ups.
As we are basic campers and only go for a couple of nights we didn't mind there being only two showers and 1 washing up sink. We were close enough to the water tap. We queued briefly for washing up but when the people in front of us saw we only had a little they let us push in
There were plenty of people there but the dogs on leads and the no noise after 11 rules were well respected. We made our 'campfire' in a bucket bbq and it was great.
The Maybush was worth the queue to order (food arrives very quickly after that)and a treat to sit at a table instead of cross legged on a picnic blanket!
I don't think Low Farm needs any changes. The provision of soap and toilet roll seems a luxury compared with others I've visited for more money. I would hate to see it 'improved' as I think it would lose its back to nature appeal. And of course it would be much more difficult to get into!

We Have just come back from two pleasant nights at Low Farm.
When we arrived there was a sign saying find a pitch, avoid flattened areas and will collect money later. The owner did come round after we had pitched our tent. We paid £15 per night.
The toilets were fairly clean and had plenty of toilet paper, nappy sacks and soap. They are a little dated and dusty but they are OK.
There are two family sized shower rooms which are located near the entrance to the site. One is next to the washing up room and the other is marked as The Treatment Room/Ladies, Gents. As above they are a little dated and dusty, but do have lovley hot showers.
We had a little bit of noise from other campers, but it did not go on late. The site has a policy of no noise after 11pm.
We had a nice time and we will go back again soon.
The Maybush - Service quick and friendly. Food OK.
Waldringfield - a lovley village.
Woodbridge - lovely to visit. Whistlestop Cafe at the station very good.

Not much more to add.
But the sign is still there saying 'pitch up and we'll see you soon'. Liked the idea of a 'roaming reception'.
Flat pitches, plenty of water and hook ups.
Loads of space for the kids to run riot, nice 'wild' bit at the back of the site, some people were pitched up there, but there is no water or electricity there.
It's a shame that the ladies toilet block floor felt like it was going to give way. Nice perfumed toilet paper in blocks.
There is a Tesco's near by which was handy.

Spent an extended weekend here which coincided with the start of the school holidays, but this site is so spacious it was far from crowded.
If you don't want EHU you can hide yourself in solitude among the many hedges and bushes. The ground is flat with short wild grass, it's not like camping on a lawn! You pitch up and the friendly lady owner comes round in her car in the evening for your money, or the morning if she misses you.
The site is very quiet and peaceful, no traffic noise, but be warned if you pitch by the hedge next to the golf course. On the Monday morning they mowed the grass between 6 and 8 a. M. !
The facilities are few and take some finding. Initially I found just a gents with 2 WCs and a small handbasin, but keep searching and there are 3 unisex all-in-one rooms with shower, basin and toilet. One was by the dish washing area, you had to almost go out of the site for it, and turn left by the old buildings.
Close to this is another, behind a door marked 'Treatment Room'(!) in a long shed-like building. The one I used almost exclusively was in a corner behind a leylandii hedge. Surprisingly I only found it occupied once in all the times I used it; perhaps few people knew it was there!
It's a great base for exploring the region, while close at hand the Maybush pub has superb views across the river and there is a lovely nature reserve just around the corner from the Fox at Newbourne. The large Tesco and its less expensive fuel is by the 2nd roundabout up the A12 in the Lowestoft direction.

A really nice basic site, just £10 for two plus dog for the Saturday night. Plenty of room on the flat, well drained site. It had rained heavily the day before we arrived and the site had completely dried out on our arrival.
Enough room for children to play ball games without disturbing other visitors/families. The toilets were clean though dated and soap was supplied by the basins.
Didn't use the shower facilities but this also looked clean. The Maybush Inn about 20 minutes walk away not cheap but the food is very good and is right on the River Deben.
Not much else in Waldringfield really but so peaceful, calm and tranquil just great to chill out. We will definitely use again.
