A good site outside St Ives with good facilities which could be excellent with a little better attention to detail. We did like this site and there was much to like - the breakfast van with freshly cooked, good value items, the on-site local bus service to mention two of many. However, family shower rooms where the wooden doors get routinely jammed shut, really cheap clothing hooks that are destined to break and no shelving for wash bags, etc. All really spoil the experience. Also, what a shame the excellent tourist information display had a leaky roof allowing rain to drip all over the leaflets! So come on guys, some inexpensive improvements would do wonders.

Stayed for one night only whilst touring Devon & Cornwall.
Never stayed here before but have used sister site (Ayr) in St. Ives.
Pleasantly surprised as did not look that impressive on Google Earth.
Large & well appointed pitches. Excellent facilities - showers/toilets plentiful and immaculately clean.
Pleasant games/TV room. Fast food (catering van) on-site. And my wife's favourite - excellent laundry room with washers, driers & Irons.
You can walk into St. Ives via the coastal path, however the horrendous weather prevented us from doing so. There is however a convenient bus service that runs from the site entrance to the St. Ives Tate and back. A recommended and good value service.
Even though we only stayed one night I must say that I prefer this site to Ayr due in the main to its spacious pitches, location i. E. More of a countryside feel, whilst only being a stones throw from St. Ives.
Would recommend and will return.

We stayed here Easter weekend. We had hoped to stay at the sister site closer to town but found it was full.
Site was quiet being the start of the season. It has good sized pitches with water tap adjacent and some with picnic benches. All facilities were very well maintained, piping hot(needed at Easter!)showers and very clean.
Small shop had all the essentials. Our boys liked the playground and the club room. I was less keen on the latter (I like to get them away from a TV when we go camping).
Each morning we took the shorter of the routes into St Ives. A pleasant walk over stiles and across fields, with kids took about 35minutes to Porthmeor beach.
There was no bus this time of year and as we were meeting friends with a cottage in town we hung out there until night and then took a cab back to the site (about £8. 00).
Quite pricey but a good site overall.

Great camp site, with nicely laid out and spacious pitches. There was plenty of room on our grassy pitch for our large tent and gazebo and the car too. Many of the pitches have electric hook-ups, and some (but not all) also have a water tap.
The shower, washing up and laundry facilities are excellent and well maintained, but it's a good idea to avoid the busy times and queues for the showers - hot water for washing up reduces to a trickle during very busy times, but soon comes back again!
There's a regular bus service to the beach at St Ives, and for those that like to walk, it's also ideally situated for the coastal path, which can easily be joined by following the marked path through the farm.
There's also a children's park (my daughter loved the zip wire!), plus a games and TV room - although we didn't use it. The staff are friendly, both at reception and in the shop. The shop doesn't carry a large range of goods, but stocks the basic essentials and newspapers.
My only suggestion would be to sell freshly baked bread - because we love it! For those who don't want to cook, there's also a food van on site, we tried various bacon, egg and sausage rolls - they were excellent!
I would highly recommend this site, and would definitely stay there again if ever we're in the area.

We visited over the bank holiday weekend and had a lovely time for our first family camping trip.
The campsite is great - although it was bursting at the seems over the weekend and we had to queue for showers and toilets.
Keeping up with the cleaning was difficult over the Saturday/Sunday, but as soon as a few campers left then the usual clean standards resumed.
We will come back again - a very busy camp - the regualar bus to town very good. Relaxed atmosphere. And a great location.

Not the friendliest of welcomes but it was very busy, not given any info about facilities loo's etc had to go back and ask, shop didn't stock much.
Pitch fine for our campervan but the caravan next to us had trouble getting on the pitch with awning etc.
Plenty of showers, loo's etc with very friendly cleaners who seemed to be there all day keeping on top of things, although piped music a bit strange 'Lionel Richie at 4am on a loo visit is just weird!'
Didn't do the full coast walk into St Ives just part of it, lovely views though.
The hourly bus from the reception and back was great, the track upto the site was not walk able.
St Ives has lots of really nice shops, pubs etc and lots to visit by car not too far away.
All round really nice site would visit again, bit expensive though.

We stayed at this campsite on our trip to Cornwall. As it was the middle of June we were offered a selection of pitches, we chose one at the back of the field to make the most of the amazing view.
The pitch was huge for our three man tent with hedge row separation which was really attractive.
The swimming pool was a bonus but obviously reflected in the pitch fees.
Plenty of clean showers and facilities.
The free bus service to St. Ives centre was very efficient too.
The site could benefit from an on-site shop.

Nice site, has good facilities and pitch was big enough for campervan, awning and seating area. Bus service is ideal coming every hour back and too from St Ives. If you are taking the coastpath to St Ives please make sure you wear suitable footwear and be careful with children.
We were advised by the receptionist it was a nice walk about an hour. We took our three year old and were surprised at how close and steep it became. We were also in beach wear - flip flops - this is not for the faint hearted and we walked past various Professional walkers who looked at us as if we were mad.
All in all a good site and we will be back ( with hiking boots)

This was our first time away camping and found the camp site through this web site. When initially booking our pitch I explained that we had a an eight person tent due to reading previous reviews about the small size of the pitches. On arrival I wasn't disappointed and found our pitch was more than big enough for our tent and a large estate car. The site is exposed due to the fact that it is right on the coast but that was tempered with the fabulous views. The staff were courteous and everything went like clockwork. Some of the pitches are more sheltered than others and we made a mental note of those for our return next time. The facilities were excellent and cleaned on a daily basis. There is a takeaway van on site which opened promptly at 8am every morning for those that don't wish to cook breakfast. There is also a local shop van that comes around the site at 9am every morning which sells papers, milk, etc, its arrival heralded by the sound of a hand bell. There is also a games room which we didn't use and which also houses a large plasma TV.
There is a regular bus service into St. Ives which was reliable and extremely useful. Especially since the road into St. Ives is not pedestrian friendly as much of the route does not offer pavements. There is however direct access to the coastal path from the site which provides some stunning scenery directly into St. Ives. At the back of the site there lies the home of St. Ives Beef which sells locally produced steaks and burgers. I have to say that it is some of the best beef I have ever tasted and reminds us of the fact what dreary bland products we all buy from the supermarkets these days. Our first time away and I can honestly say what a cracking site. I have no hesitation in recommending this camp site.
