I'm a bit loath to give this review in the knowledge that most previous people have rated this site quite highly and because negative comments tend to put people off going-which isn't my intention and none of the following would put me off going again but I feel you need to be honest.
So where to begin, well I booked by phone and had to pay the full amount by card to a guy on a mobile phone (£30) which is unusual but ok, on arrival the lady in the static by the gate seemed to have no record of us or a card receipt for me but let us in and said I'd have to contact the owner for the receipt-which I left as I assumed it would turn up later, it didn't.
Cleanliness-The toilet bowl I used just after arrival had some 'marks' in it that were still there on Sunday when we left so the toilet block wasn't cleaned.
There were a few families with small children and while they weren't badly behaved, they were playing between the 2 rows of caravans kicking a small ball around and playing cowboys and Indian's with a bow and sucker arrows- I'm not saying we or the caravan were in mortal danger at any point but apart from the row (how can something so small make so much noise ?) which I accept - the (very remote) threat of a dent in either the van or our new car was enough to make me ill at ease until they wandered off to the ball playing area. Not the sites fault of course its marked up as no ball games and the parents should have stopped it but.
The site itself is ok, quiet and grass cut and as most previous reviews are good I do accept we obviously caught a bad weekend.

We stayed here passing through on the way to Norfolk. The amenities block was very clean and modern, the shower floor was heated which was a real treat. The site is nice and we walked the dog along the river which you reach by turning right out of the campsite. The website states rural setting but I think greenbelt would be closer description. A 10min walk to the left brings you to an ASDA, Costa and other Retail outlets. The road was fast and busy so not a pleasant walk but it cannot be heard from campsite itself which was very peaceful place.

My partner & I and our dogs just returned from a week at this site & found it to be very good. We stayed in one of the sites own ready pitched caravans, which was great. Site was quiet, just how we like it. Very nice, clean toilet/shower block with pot washing area & laundry room. Supermarket, takeaways & pub 10 minute walk up hill. 20-30 mins drive from Sherwood Forest, Clumber park & various other good dog walking areas. Would definitely visit again.

Stayed at Tall trees for 2 nights. What a gem of a site Toilet/shower block nice and clean and warm. The hand book which you get on your arrival is the best iv seen yet. Staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a pond on site for the fishermen. While we were there there were a lot of workmen staying on site but you wouldn't know they were there. One suggestion for the owner what about a poo bin for doga at the end of the field other wise I have no complaint will be back soon

A lovely little site ideal for short stays. A very friendly welcome when we got to the site. Setting up was fairly easy although the ground was very hard in places and we got through a few extra pegs.
Facilities were clean and adequate for the site. A little park for the kids would be lovely. A sign saying ball games pass this sign was towards the back of the site but this area was used for non electric tents, so not really suitable to send kids with a ball there to play, was also by the pond so not ideal.
My husband was tempted by the fishing lake before we arrived and took his rod just in case but decided the over size pond was not suitable due to what looked like a lack of fish and a lot of weed.
Pitches felt a little overcrowded at times. No marked pitches, so some were a little to close.
Overall a nice site, asda is just up the hill, also kfc and costa. Mansfield town is not to far either.

Lovely site with tall trees cutting the field into two sites. I believe there was a lake there but did not see this as we only stayed one night on our way to Norfolk. As previous reviews, lovely toilet block, but in the corner of the field. Where we pitched was a small single toilet / shower so we tended to use that. Lovely washing up area with lots of hot water. Short walk to supermarket and pub and I think a fish and chip shop. Will be back again when we next touring southern England. Owner very helpful. Once he appeared he was doing two jobs at once as some staff on holiday. Had to drive through a static site and the turn off the road was easily missed

We stayed 5 days over the bank holiday weekend into June, excellent site as well as excellent facilities. The toilet/shower block was amazing, with lots of hot water, even had under floor heating. The washing up facility was brilliant. There was even a laundry, which we didn't need to use. Very busy weekend with lots of families etc. And even though we were just 2 adults with 2 dogs there wasn't any issues etc. Fantastic for dogs as well. Would definitely return. Walking distance to large supermarket with pub across the road from said shop Only fault we found was very hard ground and needed rock pegs.

A local site for us, representing a quick relaxed bolt hole when we want to use our caravan but have not got the time to travel longer distances. Local facility's are plentiful, with a large Asda, Kentucky fried chicken, costa coffee, subway, fish and chips and a pub all within a very close walking distance. But despite the proximity of all this, the site is quiet, relaxed, secure and seems secluded when on site. With so much, so close, there is no need of an on site shop. The washroom facilities are modern, clean and warm. Pitches have electric hook up, tv signal is fine and there is a large walking section around a small lake area. The site is watched over by friendly lady that lives by the entrance gate of the touring section of the site. When you first arrive at site, residential static caravans occupy the majority of the park. Tall trees is definitely worth a short stop over.

You should have no hesitation in staying at this park.
The owner is obviously endeavouring to improve an already good site. Whilst we were there he was taking receipt of brand new white goods (washing machine etc) to further enhance the excellent facilities.
The shower/toilet block is excellent, the location is good yet far enough from the road to suffer no noise whatsoever. We'll be returning soon!

Although only at the site for a couple of days as I was passing through ( I had not booked but that was no problem) I found the site staff to be helpful and friendly.
The site itself was clean and the newly installed toilet block was the best I had come across in my travels. Work was in progress to install more electric and water facilities and I had been told a children's play area will be in the making in the near future.
I did not have time to explore the area but did go to the local Asda, a very short walk from the camp site. The site fees are very reasonable, if passing this way again I would definitely use this site.
