Lovely little site, very good value we paid 34 pounds for a two night stay caravan 4 of us plus dog. Lady at number 16 couldn't be more friendly and helpful.
Although nothing for the kids to do (ie play parks) they loved it, walked round fishing lake several times hoping to see a fish!
Very peaceful site and close to local attractions we were going to Shirewood Pines so excellent location. Site facilities very clean and would definitely go again.

Spent a long weekend at Tall Trees after another site in the area let us down. I'm so pleased that we did - this site is a little gem!
It has five pitches set aside as a CL for the Caravan Club, but for us mere mortals there are nineteen other pitches, all grass and with hook up. Around seven appear to be long term occupied.
There is an immaculate new facilities block with ladies and gents' toilets and shower with wash-basins, a laundry room, two veranda covered washing-up sinks, and external chemical and waste water disposal points. Although modest in size, it is sufficient for the needs of the number of pitches, and was always clean.
The site is accessed through a small mobile homes park about a mile from Mansfield town centre. There is a fishing lake at the top of the site, and an area set aside for ball games, although there are no other children's facilities.
A bus stop close to the site entrance has a not very frequent service into Mansfield. However, turn left out of the site and walk up the hill for 5 minutes and you come to a huge Asda store, The Foxglove inn - which serves meals - a sit-in or take-away fish and chip shop, a KFC franchise and two or three other shops.
The site is convenient for Mansfield town, Sherwood Forest, Rufford Park, and a little further afield, Southwell minster.
All in all, a great little site. At £15 a night, we will be certainly return.

Have just spent a pleasant weekend here. As said before the lady at number 16 is lovely very friendly and helpful. The units seemed to be a bit haphazardly sited and people were walking through others pitches to get to the shower block or just walking their dogs through the pitch which we aren't used to.
The shower block is very clean and nice hot showers although a shower curtain would be useful to stop clothes getting wet. I was a bit surprised to find a 20p charge for the hairdryer as although I have short hair it took two 20ps and my hair was still wet at the back.
The site itself has a fishing lake at the back although we didn't use it. There is a 24 hour asda about 5 minutes walk turning left out of the site up the hill, opposite there is the Foxglove pub, lovely food at reasonable prices, there is also a KFC, a fish & chip restaurant/take away and a Cooplands bakery.
All in all a pleasant site at a reasonable cost, but we probably won't be back due to lack of privacy on the pitches i. E. Anyone just walking through as they like which is a shame as we enjoyed the weekend overall.

Booking was really easy, although had to make full payment over the phone rather than cash on arrival as the website says. I can only assume this was because we booked less than a week in advance.
Lovely campsite, choice of pitches when we arrived, all level and had electric hook up available. The only thing I would warn is that the ground was very rocky when trying to put tent pegs in.
2 toilets and a shower room in the ladies, and a hairdryer available for use. Mens I believe were the same. Disabled facilities and a laundry room with washer / dryer and iron all at reasonable prices. All lovely and clean and warm. Indoor and outdoor pot wash all with hot water.
Lots to do locally with Sherwood Forest, indoor swimming centre. Child friendly pubs locally and a soft play centre nearby. Asda and Morrisons just up the road.
All in all a lovely site and location, will be going back.

On arrival at no 16 house a nice lady greeted us and told us which pitch was available. Pitche was ok with plenty of space and the electric points had water taps which were convenient.
Lovely compact, clean shower block but being the jubilee bank holiday weekend you can guess what happened with only one shower yes queues which is expected with the number of tents on site.
Plenty to do in the area, asda, chippie and pub up the road - the other way you have B & Q + JTF. Mansfield town is only 1 mile away.
We visited Newstead Abbey which is lovely but check the prices before going.
A very friendly site with an area fenced off for 5 caravan club members.

This is a lovely campsite that is very quiet, friendly and clean. We went in a party of 5 to camp for the night. We found both the manager and the lady at number 16 (who had 2 cute little dogs)very friendly and helful on all interactions both when planning our trip and upon arrival and exiting the campsite. They made us feel really welcome. The actual campsite is cosy and quiet with excellent facilities. The toilet block is definitely the cleanest toilet block that we have ever encountered whilst camping. The location was good for accessing local faciltiies but also quiet enough to appreciate the outdoors. We would definitely recommend this campsite to others, and we are hoping to return soon.

I Would like to say how impressed we were with the facilities, the shower and toilet block had under floor heating which was lovely and warm under foot
And all at no extra cost very impressed, also the hair driers was handy after my shower, Then there was the washer, dryer and ironing board. We had a warm welcome on arrival I cannot fault this site we really enjoy our stay. My husband loved the fishing
He was impressed with the size of the carp, all in all I cannot fault this site it was great for us. We will certainly be coming back.

My family and I have just stayed here we took 3 tents. This was our first time camping it is a nice little campsite but not a great deal to do.
Toilets were disappointing has there was only the 1 and showering and washing facilities were rather rubbish as cubicle was in the toilet not in its own separate block.
Could do with more lighting where the tent pitches are, a playground or something for children and some more dog walking areas.
We booked on spur of moment and don't think we will be returning.

We stayed here for 2 nights to try out a new tent and equipment. Rang and booked in easily. Nice friendly welcome on arrival and were shown to a good sized pitch in a sheltered spot under the 'tall trees'. The ground was flat and very suited to tents.
The facilities are, at the moment, very basic. Electric hook ups are available (we didn't need one) and there are plenty of water taps dotted around. Only one toilet and shower and although the site wasn't full we did have to queue on occasions.
A new block with toilets, showers and wash up facilities is under construction though.
Nearby there's a 24hr ASDA, fish and chip shop, KFC and a brilliant food pub all within a ten minute walk.
We spent a fantastic afternoon at Rufford Abbey which is about 20 to 30 mins drive away.
A nice site and we'd certainly visit again.

We booked 2 nights for the bank holiday weekend in august for the closeness to sherwood pine
On arrival we were greeted by a pleasant lady. When shown our pitch we started erecting the tent, this was not easy as every peg was hitting solid objects no deeper than 3' below, bending quite a few
Then we went to look at the toilet/shower block, there are clearly new ones being built but I'm under the impression the work has been going on for a few years. There is only 1 toilet for all campers and 1 shower in the same room for all campers and throughout our stay this was never cleaned and was in a dirty tired state. Also there is not a power point for hair dryers etc.
I would only stay here again when the new shower/toilet blocks are up and running
