We booked 2 nights for the bank holiday weekend in august for the closeness to sherwood pine
On arrival we were greeted by a pleasant lady. When shown our pitch we started erecting the tent, this was not easy as every peg was hitting solid objects no deeper than 3' below, bending quite a few
Then we went to look at the toilet/shower block, there are clearly new ones being built but I'm under the impression the work has been going on for a few years. There is only 1 toilet for all campers and 1 shower in the same room for all campers and throughout our stay this was never cleaned and was in a dirty tired state. Also there is not a power point for hair dryers etc.
I would only stay here again when the new shower/toilet blocks are up and running

We visited this site after an unexpected change in holiday plans. I was generally pleased with the appearance of the site in the shelter of high connifers or 'Tall Trees' which give the site it's name. As a CL I thought it quite acceptable. The site was accessed through a small esate of mobile homes and it was a friendly resident of one such home, I believe, who greeted and directed our party onto the site. Although the surrounding area was suburban, the site was very quiet with no traffic noise as I recall.
As we were visiting the site in our folding camper, I did unfortunately find the facilities lacking. There was only one toilet and a shower which required coin operation (20p for a fixed spell). I did not find the cleanliness of these facilities up to standard, although I am a known 'fuss-pot' where these matters are concerned. For a caravan user with their own toilet and shower, this would not be so much of an issue. A more robustly consitutioned member of our party took a bottle of bleach, air freshner and a mop to the offending toilet, so that along with our own toilet tent my ablutions were catered for. It seemed a new toilet block was under construction which would improve the site a great deal. The only problem was that I felt a little like I was on a building site. There was a potentially pleasant walk around a man made pond, although this was unfinished at this time. We were slightly disgruntled to find a dumper and digger parked right up close to our awning one morning! My partner complained about this and although treated politely, we were not offered any kind of compensation. Although not a problem as such, we had to share facilities with a few workmen who were billeted on the site (although they were not there during the day).
Despite my gripes, I enjoyed the week I spent here. There was a large ASDA and town centre catering for food+shopping needs and a HUGE amount of places to visit. Historic Nottingham is near by, Rufford Abbey was a fantastic day out and we visited other further afield places. There is no excuse to be bored whilst staying at Tall Trees. As the weather was good for most of the week, Tall Trees was a plesant place to sit outside in the sun with a book or with a drink in the evening. To summarise, it wouldn't be my first choice of site, but I wouldn't dismiss the idea of visiting again. From what I saw at the time, I think it will be improved.

Me and my partner stayed for a night and we both was very happy with the price and the location of the site. Onsite facilities are ok, there's only one toilet and shower which everyone has to use, so you have to wait to use it but are kept nice and clean. Up the road from the site there is Asda, KFC, Cooplands and a few other stores which is very handy! Also there is Maun Valley to visit if you fancy a nice relaxing walk. Overall me and my partner were very pleased with the site.
We will definitely be returning to the site!

Not a bad little CL site, nice big pitching field with the freedom to pitch almost where you like. No play area, ASDA just left out of the site and up the road. Toilet and shower were unclean but very warm. The site is at the bottom of a mobile home park and did seem to be the area that all the locals chose to walk their dogs on however there was no dog mess to be seen so they must be conscientious and clean it up.
Price for 2 nights with a dog and awning was £24 pound.(bank holiday weekend so a bargain really!)
