Absolute gem of a site. Every pitch is generously sized. The 5 hardstandings are landscaped with shrubs and flower borders, the grass pitch area has been trimmed with manicure scissors. Modern toilet and shower facilities are housed in a converted stone barn, upstairs there is a more private wash room and toilet and also a large drying rack for wet clothes. The site is away from the road, the only noise is the birds and the sheep. There is no children's play area, that did not stop the kids on the site having a good time. There are loads of footpaths in the area so it is ideal for walking dogs but stout footwear is required. You can walk into town in 30mins but it does involve crossing a field and then down a tarmac surfaced access road through woodland and fields. Barnard Castle town is a true market town with mostly local shops and cafes. There is a Morrisons, M&Co, Greggs and Costa. Would we go back to this site, definitely yes.

Just had a brilliant 2 nights at this gem of a campsite! Really quiet (no kids about!) Beautifully kept grass and surroundings with loads of space in between units.
Toilet block spotless and lashings of free hot water. Good selection of leaflets and free 'swap' books. There's a great walk into town through the woods and fields which the owner told us about which takes about 30 minutes, good selection of shops and pubs with a nice Indian take away. This will be a site we will be going back to again and again.
Only down side (which is nothing major) is the £10 deposit by cheque. No credit card bookings, however I do understand small businesses can't always justify the facilities

My husband I stayed on this campsite for 4 nights in June 2012, what a tranquil site, although it wasn't busy while we were there, apart from, the birds, rabbits and squirrels.
Everything was spotless and what a treat to have soap and bathmats in the toilet/showers. We would certainly go back there, as the surrounding countryside is beautiful.
Barnard Castle is just down the road with plenty of shops and pubs.

This is the second time we have stayed at this site. The has been on both occasions very clean and very well maintained. There is a mixture of grass and hard standing pitches, on both occasions we have pitched on grass, and they are very level pitches. The toilets are always clean and the showers are very good although they are unisex. You can walk into Barnard Castle from here only taking about a half hour which is a very pleasant walk. There is also other nice walks around the caravan park. There isnt a play area but great value for money.

This is a lovely touring site in a quiet rural location, just a few minutes' drive from Barnard Castle. There is a local bus service within a 10 minute walk. A pleasant 30 minute walk through fields and woods also takes you into town.
The site itself has excellent facilities which were maintained in very clean condition. The showers were particularly good and there was always hot water.
The hardstanding pitches were level and had adjacent grassed areas for awnings, etc. And there were other well-spaced grass pitches in an adjacent field.
The lady owner was very pleasant and helpful and we would certainly visit this site again.

We visit this site every year and would recommend it to all our friends. The toilets and shower block are really clean and the water is always hot.
It's a quiet site that is also part of a working farm and you get to see lambs being born as well as cows, a variety of birds including the noisy woodpecker!
There is a variety of country walks that lead into Barnard Castle, Lartington, and if you are up for it even to Middleton in Teesdale.

We stayed at this campsite at the start of the summer holidays with our children, the camp site is lovely and the showers / toilets are brilliant really clean and always hot water. They recycle so nice to know you can do you bit even when you on holiday. The only thing I found it's not really suitable for family's with young children and I really felt a lot of pressure to keep the young children quiet because this is a working farm and sadly wont be going back in a hurry

Just got back from one night on this site. The most fantastic grass I've ever parked on! Lovely site, quiet, even on August bank holiday, with no prior booking, there was plenty of space. £12 for both of us and our little Commer Camper. Lovely very hot showers (inc in the price). 10P hairdryer. We normally go for very basic sites, so this was a bit of luxury. Definitely recommend. Barnard Castle is very close. Good balance of shops and helpful tourist info. Very pretty area, wish we could have stayed longer.

June 2005 Beautifully maintained site, excellent facilities - very clean toilets and showers, very peaceful, only a couple of miles to Barnard Castle where there are plenty of shops and pubs and takeaways. Would recommend this site and the rates are very reasonable.
