A lovely site with friendly and accommodating owners. A very relaxed site but when a bothersome family, who's children were a pain in the toilet block, the owners showed their mettle by asking them to leave. Toilet block very clean but, although small, we never had to wait more than a couple of minutes. A flat site with short grass with huge playing field for games.
A lovely area for cycling (flat!), the Salterns' Way is particularly good, and there's a nice ride to the shop if you turn right out of the site then right again across a field track.
Some good pubs and a lovely restaurant in Selsey called the Tipsy Teapot about halfway down the main street on the right.
Lots of places to visit; don't miss the Weald and Downland Museum and a walk up to Kingsley Vale is a must for ancient yew trees and great wild flowers.
Worth a revisit.

An excellent site. We have used others in this area, but this is the best. It is quiet, friendly, well maintained and there is a very large playing field. We had bikes & it is a great base for many easy rides on lanes or the Salterns Way. If you have any bike problems Geared on the road up to Chichester is an excellent bike shop. You can cycle round to Bosham - good waterfront pub - and then get a ferry back from the Ho to Itchenor for £2 plus 50p for the bike. Witterings & beaches easily reached on bike as is the local shop. Many good farm shops & pyo's in the area.

Our first camping experience. Very clean and tidy, but with only 2 showers timing was vital. Owners were friendly and helpful. The sign at the front said it was fully booked, but there was plenty of room so they wasn't cramming us in.
Ideal spot it seemed to be central to everything, lovely beaches, nice pubs well stocked local shop.
If anything could be sorted it would be another couple of showers, and one of them needed help the water just trickled out like a tap but it was very warm. A small shop would be useful bread milk papers.

We found this campsite to be perfect for our short stay in Selsey. We pitched in the field, had plenty of room around us. The facilities were spotless. The shower cubicles were roomy and had a small table to put your stuff on. Not sure about the curtains though. Only two showers and four toilets in the ladies block and OH said two showers and two toilets in gents block. The water in the showers and washing up area just warm. There was cleaning stuff left in the blocks to use to tidy up after use, great idea. The site was immaculate, not a weed to be seen in the garden and the grass well cut. Small criticism, shop selling provisions would be useful.

What a lovely site! There are 2 fields, one mainly for caravans and the other for tents which also has a large area for children to play including goal posts and a basketball net. The site is beautifully kept with flowers and well cut grass. The toilet block is always very clean, being washed at least twice a day. There is plenty of free hot water for showers, washing up etc. Angela and Mike are very cheerful and extremely helpful and give you a warm welcome.
The field for the tents can get very noisy if there are a lot of children playing, but this is easy to avoid by not going during the holidays (a mistake we made!)
You will need a car to get to the local shop, about 2 miles away and the same with the pubs. We didn't sample the pubs, but they looked nice.
We will be returning to this site as there is loads to do round Chichester and we really liked the area.

Have just returned from four night stay here with friends in mixed group of vans and tents. We have camped together for 15 years+ and were very impressed with this site (our first visit). Everything is spotless, with cut grass and no mowing's left to walk in to the van. The dog / play field is an excellent idea as we hate other people's kids running around us. We had visitors with kids on the Sunday and all went off to play cricket in the field - not done that for a long time. There is recycling, a small laundry, washing up sinks and disabled loo. The ladies had two showers (curtains not doors) 5 loos and five (I think) sinks, with plenty of loo paper, soap, hand dryer etc. The water was, however, only warm in the washing up sinks, and a mere drizzle in one of the showers.
There is a local shop in Birdham which sells nearly everything you need, so you don't have to travel to the Witterings or to Tesco, as the road onto the peninsula can be very busy. Very well priced for facilities offered. If it could be improved, I would say that the water temp/pressure needs to be sorted, and maybe a small shop with bread, milk, papers, etc, would be a bonus. Will visit again.

We visited for the late May Bank Holiday with our family, a group of three tents and all the usual bits and pieces ! We were shown to the camping field as we did not need a hook up and had plenty of space. It is good to have a nice flat pitch!. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities, although limited, were very good and kept very clean. Although it was the bank holiday weekend there was no queueing and we had a relaxed time. It was great having the play area in constant view and those with young children will really appreciate this. On the Saturday we walked to Chichester Marina and then along the canal to Hunston, excellent Fullers London Pride at the Spotted Cow! If it had not been so hot we would have walked the extra half hour right into Chichester but the children thought that we had had enough by the time we got to Hunston. On the Sunday, after a game of cricket on the field,we all went to Bracklesham Bay and soaked up the sun on the beach, the beach cafe does yummy 'New Forest' ice cream, there is lots of sand at low tide. The shops at Chichester, Tesco and Sainsburys, are both situated off of the ring road and easy to get to.
The only changes I would make would be an extra water point at the entrance to the camping field, larger waste bins and a better sign off of the road (pretty minor things really).
I would definitely come here again for a peaceful break.

We've tried a number of sites in the Witterings area and this was the best so far. The owners were very welcoming and showed us to the tent field - dogs were allowed off lead here and the kids could play within sight of the tent so it was ideal for us.
There were no marked pitches so there was plenty of room for our large(ish) tent but you pay roughly 1.5 the pitch cost if the tent is over 7m in any direction. Hookups were available but we didn't use them.
The showers and toilets were always clean although we tended to avoid peak times as there were only two showers / two loos in the Gents. Apparently there were 2 showers / 4 loos in the ladies but I never went in there.
The gorgeous West Witterings beach is only a 5/10 minute drive away. There is a shop about 20/25 minutes walk away from the site on the main road from Chichester to the Witts which stocks most things, or there's a big Tescos in Chichester.
If we return to the Witterings at any time this will be our first choice site.

A very welcoming site.
We were shown to our pitch in the dog/playing field at the back. This we was pleased with as it meant we could sit by our tent and our 3 children could run about all they wanted in front of us so no worries as to where they were all the time!
Toilets were kept very clean and tidy, plenty of hot water.
Excellent base for exploring my home town of Chichester and also for the wonderful beach at West Wittering, Goodwood, Bognor Regis,Selsey etc.
I know I've read on some previous reviews about this site that the owner can be a bit miserable but he seemed pleasant enough to us. On a hot sunny day he brought round ice creams for everyone and he had also organised a fun day with free hot dogs/burgers,competitions etc. I'm sure there aren't many of these sort of campsites about where the owner gets involved with everyone!

Ellscott Park is in a lovely location, just a short drive to West Wittering beach and to Chichester close by. The site is incredibly well maintained, the toilets / showers are spotless and generally everything is very well kept up. We had a few tent problems on arrival and the owners really couldn't have been more helpful. This was our third visit and we will return.
