We stayed at Ellscott farm at the very end of May in our new van, as we've not had one before we stayed local. The owners were great and as they knew we were new to vanning they were great at offering a bit of advise, and gave us a pitch we could just drive onto so no need to reverse. As said the loos were spotless but could be a little small for the peak of the Summer.
The play/dog field is great for the kids to run around in, but if you have little ones be careful of the ditch that runs between the two fields.
The site is very quiet at least when we went it was, we felt a little loud ourselves setting up and running after and moaning at our kids to behave and stop being so excitable. But once we were settled in it was fine. Will visit again in the future, we like to have sites in different places and this is now ours in the Witterings. So please ignore these reviews and don't go.Well, wouldn't want you to take a pitch I might need.Lol
As said the owners were very friendly and asked us a few times if we were doing OK, but everything was, I should imagine if you did have a problem they would help all they could.
Locally there is :-
Chichester, lots of shops both chains and local. A great cathedral and usually some sort of fete or festival or something happening.
West wittering, One of the best beaches on the south coast, parking isn't that cheap but you could happily spend the whole day there.
East Wittering, This is where you will find the small village type shops and a couple of main ones Tesco Express, Co-Op it actually has 2 local butchers and a fish shop most bigger towns don't even have 1 anymore, so you've no excuse for a bad BBQ. Parking isn't great but we got lucky, so I don't know if there is a car park hidden somewhere and we missed it.
Bracklesham, This is further along from east wittering ( they feel like the same place as the main road that joins them isn't really that long ). There are a few little shops but not many but there is a car park on the seafront. The beach is sandy when the tide is out but stones when it is in. There is a concrete area between the car park and the sea that looks out of place but is useful if your waiting for the tide. There is a small beach shop and a rescue station there also.

This site was a very nice site run by very helpful people, i.e owners and helpers. Toilet block was very well kept. There was a nice big field for children to play on. We have just had a lovely week there. Weather was a bit naff at times but found plenty to do. It was a bit of a nightmare trying to turn right on to the main road to Chichester. Would definitely use this site again.

This is one of the best sites we have ever stayed on and we have camped extensively in France as well as in this country. We always camped with a tent but have recently bought a motorhome. This was only our second weekend away in it. We arrived without booking albeit on a quiet weekend and were made very welcome. The toilet block was immaculate and there is now soap for you to wash your hands. We will definitely be going back to this site.

Just came back from visiting Ellscott Park yet again. The reasons for repeated visits?? Well - We always find the owners welcoming and the site is kept immaculate. The grass is mowed regularly (wish my lawn at home looked as good). Plenty of hook ups. I lost count of the amount of times the toilet block was cleaned- not just once a day as on Caravan Club sites (just wish soap was provided by the sinks). As well as the main camping area there is a large field with goal posts and basket ball hoop. This means our eight year old can go run riot without disturbing our neighbours-although quite often the adults 'indulge in a little game of footie' themselves.
Rabbits, a variety of birds-even a buzzard recently spotted, can all be seen up in the field. There is a walk across fields to the local shop so if you don't want to drive, you don't have to. With West Wittering, Chichester Canal Walk and many other wonderful places near by we will definitely be going back.

We have just returned from a lovely few days at Ellscott. We were met by the owner who showed us to a corner in the dog walking field which was fine as we had a dog. She was very pleasant but she did ask us a few questions about the size of our tent which I can understand how this would annoy some people particularly as there was only 4 tents in the field at the time. The weather was bad and although our corner was ok, parts of the field did get waterlogged but the owner was rectifying this at every opportunity. The site was immaculate and when we were asked not to leave our car by our tent but to park on the hard standing area as they didn't want the ground churned up we were quite happy. We could leave it by our tent overnight. We were just asked not to drive in and out several times a day. Once again I can understand that this would annoy some people. We were impressed by the condition of the fields when we arrived and if it had been churned up we probably would not have been so keen to stay. I was a bit poorly whilst there and the owner did offer to take me to the health centre which was very much appreciated. The toilets were very clean and the mop and bucket was left for you to use if you so wanted - good idea I think. There wasn't any soap in the loos - so what, take your own. We would definitely recommend this site although you do need a car to get to the local shop/pub.

We stayed at Ellscott Park after friends recommended the campsite to us. There was four of us in total, two adults and two kids. The kids loved it as there was a large playing area for them with basketball nets and football nets for them to tire themselves out. The shower block was well maintained and kept clean and having two small children, we were very grateful for the laundering facilities. We were also pleased to note that the campsite owner is a fan of recycling and there were a number of recycling bins available for the campers to use. The lawns were well maintained and the gardens were very attractive. Overall we were very happy with this campsite and we will definitely be visiting again next year. The people in the pitch next to ours have been visiting for four years and I can see why. I would encourage anyone reading these comments to focus on the positive experiences people have had other than the one person who wasn't entirely happy with his stay. We found it to be a well kept, clean, friendly campsite.

We liked this site. It is generally quiet after 'lights out'. The owners are very friendly and helpful. While there are only 4 showers (2 male, 2 female), the facilities are kept extremely clean. The whole site seems to be very well kept. On the downside, there is quite a lot of noise from the nearby Birdham Road, and if you go during harvest time, expect combines working till around 10pm in adjacent fields. Earplugs are useful! Also, avoid Chichester during the rush hour - the traffic getting to the A27 is horrendous. You can detour via the ring road and Fishbourne to avoid the worst of it. The Roman Palace at Fishbourne is pricey but very interesting, and West Wittering beach is lovely for walks or lazing. The Weald and Downland Open Air Museum is great for kids - bread making, butter churning, wool spinning, etc.

Just returned from 8 splendid and relaxing days at this clean and very friendly site. We were a bit worried after recent rainfall but the site recovered remarkably quickly. The shower and toilets are cleaned several times daily and it has generous washing up and laundry facilities. There is a large adjoining field which accommodates some tents and is a splendid area for dog exercising. (Poop scoops provided). This is also a secure area where youngsters can play and ride their bikes and it has goal posts and a basketball net. The site is ideally situated for the local beaches and for dog people like ourselves there are plenty of places to visit within a 20 minute drive, meaning we hardly had to do the same walk twice.

Having recently found this campsite by looking at the reviews I found it lived up to my expectations and we had a very enjoyable holiday. I visited with my family from Dorset for a week and found the site to be very well maintained and clean. The owners were very accommodating and extremely knowledgeable about the area especially for family and dog friendly walks in the surrounding countryside. Personally I would rather have an over attentive owner than a caravan stuck in the mud!
