Had a week's stay in what was a very wet August 2008!
Owner very helpful on arrival, who offered a wide choice of pitches, and manoeuvred our caravan into place for us using his tractor.
The site appears fairly basic on arrival, but the on-site entertainment provided by site owners is excellent. Other than change-over day (Saturday), they always put on some form of entertainment in the barn every night, and most were excellent fun! Alan's a legend - from tractor rides to star-gazing, he always puts in a great deal of effort for the guests on site!
Local beach was clean and tidy (don't expect warm water though)!
Only potential gripes are playground which was a little small, and perhaps the site could do with a proper football pitch. But this is picking fault with what was a very good week (especially given the horrendous weather)
Shower blocks were always very clean and tidy, with handy shop on site.
Local roads are a little tight, but nothing too much to worry about.
In summary:
Excellent fun, would definitely visit again if in the area! 'Wheelie good fun'.

The site was recommended by family, but turned out to be a gem. The toilet/shower facilities were good, hot water when you needed it. The entertainment was enjoyed by our 5 children - both in the evening and the tractor rides in the morning! Vanessa and Paul (the owners) were very welcoming and went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. I would definitely return with my family.

We stayed her at the end of August so it was very quiet. It is a lovely site. The owners are very helpful and friendly - they were quick to sort out a problem we had with noisy neighbours. The site was very quiet at night (except for the first night with the neighbours mentioned above) - there is a rule about no noise after 11.00pm. The site is beautiful, surrounded by lovely countryside and we had the owner's cows behind us in the field - my children loved this. Meanporth Beach is about a mile away and is a great beach for children - very shallow and lots of rockpools. There is also a restaurant here. Falmouth itself is not far away about 3 miles and there is a bus during the summer. There are lots of varied pitches to choose from and it is worth having a walk around before you pitch as some areas are better than others. The lanes divide the pitches but are on a one-way system which makes it easier for children to watch out. There are also lots of pitches a distance from the lanes some of which are separated by hedges. There is a great play area for children and table tennis and a pool table. There is also a small shop. All in all a fantastic site - quiet, in beautiful surroundings. It doesn't have the facilities of a larger site but that is part of it's charm!

Just got back from a weekend break at Pennance Mill Farm. We had a great time. The facilities were fine. Toilet blocks clean. Showers clean and water always hot. The owners were really friendly and always available, and there was a great relaxed feeling about the site. We will definitely be going again. The kids enjoyed the Tractor rides. Especially when he pulled a wheely! We had a great night at the low tech disco( take your own booze) and the quiz night was great fun. Difficult to fault !

The campsite was larger than expected but due to the good use of hedge-rows felt a lot smaller. The owners were very amiable and often made time to stop and chat. Pitches were slightly sloped, but not sufficiently enough to disturb sleeping. The showers in the main block were brilliant. Hot and powerful. The older block that I used were not so good so then I just used the new block. I never had to queue for a shower or toilet, the only time I couldn't use it was when they were being cleaned. They were cleaned regularly and well, the floor was sometimes a bit dirty but there was plenty of rain and therefore mud on shoes and hey, I was camping! We didn't regularly make use of the evening entertainment, what we did see was fun especially for our 3 year old daughter. It didn't go on too late and the 11 o'clock noise curfew was well adhered to. The tractor rides in the morning were a firm favourite of all children on site and the small playground had benches for parents needing to watch their children. The on-site shop had the basics and was reasonably priced. Other local shops are a short drive away, most campers tended to use the local Asda. We drove to beaches preferring those slightly more excluded with wooded walks rather than the easy access and cafe type beaches. There is plenty to do locally with the seal sanctuary, maritime museum, Pendennis Castle etc. We will be back next year!

We arrived a few days after the torrential rain that has blighted the summer of 2007, and some of the fields at the site had needed to be closed as they were just too wet for tents and caravans alike. However, a pitch was found (unmarked) so we were able to put our tent up without too much mishap. Pennance Mill Farm is a working cattle farm, and large campsite, and boy do the owners work hard. The owners were always in attendance and always on call to meet the many demands of their guests. Each evening an event of some description was held in the barn, and this ranged from bingo & a quiz, folk dancing and skittles, all good fun and worth getting involved in. A local amateur astronomer also paid a visit to guide residents through the night sky. The shower and toilet facilities were clean, always stocked with plenty of loo roll etc, and the water was always hot. Laundry facilities were available for a small fee, and local produce was available from the farm shop. Although this is a lovely site, well secured with an electric gate between 11pm and 7am, it is really best suited to families and couples or families with older children may find it rather noisy. Because of the bad weather, tents were pretty much crowded together, which was a shame as it really could be pretty noisy, especially from the under 5s in both the morning and evenings, not so relaxing if peace and quiet is what you are looking for. Perhaps, having clear defined and marked out pitches would improve the layout of this site and ensure that it doesn't become over crowded. The local area has much to offer however, with Falmouth just a 5 minute drive away. Boat trips in and around the Fal Estuary are a real treat and recommended. Beaches in the area are close by, and parking is easy. We enjoyed our short stay at the farm, but will probably not revisit.

We stayed here in August for 8 nights and I can honestly say it was a lovely site. We were told when booking to arrive when we liked and on arrival to pitch where we wanted, The owners are incredibly nice people, and work very hard to make your stay a happy one. They even told us not to rush off on departure day and that we could stay pitched all day if we wanted to at no extra cost. A small playground and free tractor rides daily kept the children more than happy, and the showers and toilets are immaculate. The washing up area is in a utility room which makes this chore a lot more bearable in the rain! Evening entertainment may not be to everyone's taste but our two youngest (3 & 5 ) enjoyed the disco, and it is all very relaxed as you bring your own drink up to the barn.which really is a barn! Excellent site for families especially as the security gate gets locked between 11pm and 7am. If you want to stay at a site where the owners take a great pride in their business this is one for you. On arrival you may think that it is quite expensive for what you appear to be getting but after the first day you will realize what it is all about. A great value holiday.

Just been here for two nights - this site is lovely. To get there though I needed the OS map for the area and the red book with Falmouth in it. You will never find it from a road atlas - get some directions before starting out! Owners were super - they had a cinema night in the barn - (don't think about trading standards!). The small shop sells Cornish cheeses - Yarg - I love it! They are getting some tipis for 2007 - how cool will that be?? The owner said they are getting an astronomer to come next year to give a talk - that'll be good. There are two toilet blocks which both have two rooms in both for men and ladies (so four rooms in each block). One of these has only two toilets and showers - so for ages I couldn't understand how the site managed with so few toilets until I went into the other room which has plenty more! Really dark at night so you can watch the stars etc. Kids liked the pool tables etc.

We have just returned from Pennance Mill having had a fantastic holiday. The campsite is lovely. One of the nicest places we have stayed at for years. The owners were really friendly and the site was beautiful. The facilities were spotless and most of all it was such a peaceful site. The owner did tractor rides for the delights of the children each day and all though we didn't take part there were different activities each evening that did not encroach on anyone who just wanted a peaceful time. I would recommend this campsite to anyone. It was stunning very private very peaceful no traffic noise and the flowers and watermill were beautiful.10/10.we had a large motorhome with a trailer loaded with bikes and they accommodated us perfectly. a big thankyou.

August 2005 Once we found the campsite, it's tucked back of a sharp bend, we found a pleasant site with a water mill. We arrived at about 8 and even though we rang the bell we had to wait for someone to come to reception. The helpful host showed us how we could walk the mile along the road,no pavement, to the beach which was such a jem with a fab n classy resturant. The showers were clean but on a timer so they turn off after 15 secs but always warm. it wasn't just a big field but broken up with lanes and hedges to give some feeling of cosyness and privacy. There were family events like a disco in the barn and kids biking round having a great time. We paid £14 a night.
