Fantastic site, the owners were very helpful when 3 of us, with tents, arrived unplanned on a Bank Holiday Saturday, after our first campsite turned out to be a shabby place with terrible facilities. We were given a choice of 3 places where we could pitch our tents, all of them good.
The site is clean, quite and well organised, with a good amount of space between pitches.
I was impressed by the little shop on site. Although is had short opening hours, it stocked a surprisingly good range of food, and at prices not much above what you'd pay in a supermarket - we did not feel we were being ripped off, quite a change from most on-site shops.
The toilets / showers were well maintained, although I too echo the comments made by others, that the showers were a bit stingy with the hot water.
The only thing I was surprised at was having to pay for hot water to wash up with - never met this before.
But these are little niggles - generally it is a friendly, peaceful site, and for the price, a real bargain.

This is one lovely quiet, small-ish campsite and is owned and managed by Rene Taylor and her husband - a really lovely couple who couldn't do too much to help.
A great place for kids, with a shallow stream to paddle in (bring fishing nets), 9-hole pitch and putt green, a couple of swings and a see-saw. There's also a collection of four lovely donkeys for the kids to pet (under adult supervision), and a teeny-weeny shop (limited opening hours).
Several people we spoke to return every year, sometimes more than once a year.
The amenities were spotless most of the time, with ample free hot water (token required for hot water at the washing up sink round the back). Only one very minor area for possible improvement in my opinion - the showers unfortunately only gave water for about 10-15 seconds between button presses.
For those who don't want to pack masses of clothes, or take mounds of dirties home with them, a washing machine and tumble drier are also available.
If you want a peaceful, out of the way location, then this is definitely worth a visit. Be prepared to travel regularly back to Bridgewater to the supermarkets as there is nothing much else in the area. Perhaps avoid the large 'Friendly Spirit' pub in nearby Cannington - we had a fairly dreadful meal there (we were just unlucky perhaps?). Much nicer was the smaller family run 'Kings Head Inn' in Cannington's High Street which was family friendly too (for example the kids can use the pub's connect four game until the food arrives), great for us a we love pub roasts and they also serve a great selection of ice-creams and deserts. There's also a 7-11 type shop next door to the pub which is handy for small shopping runs instead of the trek into Bridgwater.

Fantastic site. Really friendly owners who went out of there way to help us after a dreadful start to the week at another site
Toilet and shower block was small but very clean and well maintained.
Huge field for the children to play in and beautiful scenery all around.
A Great site for couples and quiet families who wish to explore Somerset.

We stayed at this site for two weeks and overall had a good holiday. That said we did have a few niggles
The toilet/shower block was kept immaculate being cleaned three times a day but the cubicles for the showers were too small and there was nowhere to put your clothes to keep them dry. The free hot water was not very hot. The showers work on a push button mechanism which turns itself off very quickly so you end up standing in the cold a lot.
The wash up area is very small and if there were more people using it other than ourselves the wait for the one sink would be quite long.Laundry facilities were adequate but there was no iron available
The three small fields were kept well with the grass being tended too and bins being emptied regularly they ask you to use the recycleing boxes where possible which was not a problem and a good idea. Pitches are very close to each other and at times it was difficult to get to our pitch with out car (vauxhall Zafira).
The site is quiet and whilst children are welcome the facilities for them are not very good. The swings were old and broken and the swimming pool is more in the way of a large cold bath admittedly It is advertised as small but an adult could get from end to end in two strokes. It is not a heated pool.
The playing field is edged with streams that are not fenced and access to the recreation area is over the main access road to the site so any visit to the playing area had to supervised by an adult. No ball games or such things are allowed on the pitch areas especially as the pitches are so close.
There is a freezer for ice packs but it inside the owners house so if they are not in then you cant get your ice packs. We changed ours whilst the shop was open 9 till 10 and 3 till 4 to ensure availability.
The site was busy mostly attended by local customers who store there caravans on site, the site does have a camping club atmosphere but everyone including the owners was very friendly.
The local area is lovely with nice walks and the local blackmore farm shop is great there faggots were to die for.
The nearest sandy beech is Minehead which was nice and clean. The local swimming pool sedgemore splash in Bridgewater was fantastic, also in bridgewater the cinema whilst not being modern provided a cheep activity for the family in the bad weather.Nearest supermarket is in Bridgewater
Longleat is just over an hours drive as is The wookey caves Glastonberry is about an hour.
This area is great for train enthusiasts.A car is a must for this area as there is very little to do locally we did a lot of driving to get to places of interest so what we saved in camping costs went into fuel for the car.
Overall we had a great holiday but the site I am sorry to say was only ok rather than fantastic There was nothing to directly complain about most things were well maintained Its just that I think the site needs money injecting into it to improve the facilities especially for the children. I would perhaps go back for a week in half term but would not use it for our main holiday again.

This is an absolute gem of a site. Very quiet with beautiful scenery. The owners are really helpful and moved a stored caravan for us so that we could have a level hardstanding. Not that the site is uneven, but they went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. If you have dogs, absolutely perfect for them to have a long run with 2 big fields to take them on. Toilets fantastically clean and a small shop on site has basic essentials (try their homemade honey and apple juice!). Kids have plenty of space too on the play field. It is very, very peaceful. Only stayed for one night but we would definitely stay again!

We chose this site after looking at the reviews below and they are all absolutely right. Lovely site! Very nice people and immaculate facilities. Even with three dogs we were made to feel very welcome and their dog walk and exercise field are just the ticket to meet other dogs and let the hounds have a good run around.
We were the only tent amongst caravans (long stays and touring) but everyone was very friendly.
We 'tested' some of the local pubs and found them very accommodating too. Cannington is a good place to start the search for a pint with no less than three pubs/inns (four if you count the one just off the by-pass).
We have only stayed a weekend but would certainly come back for longer and explore further as it is a great area for walking too!

Currypool Mill is a well run site with friendly proprietors and is ideal for families. It has its own small shop which supplies all necessities. Electric hook ups for caravans and tents, and an area where tents can go that don't want electric hook ups. Also a lovely chalet and bungalow for hire. There is a farm shop a short drive away. We have been to this site many times, and just love it, the site is a small friendly site, very pretty and feels extremely spacious, with views looking over to the beautiful Quantocks.
The site itself has a very clean, modern toilet/ shower block with free showers. Good dog walking area, large field for childrens play including 2 swings and seesaw, also a little lake with a boat for children to play in which is free. And a free pitch and putt 9 hole green. There is a small free swimming pool which we have often used and in which we have had great fun. The donkeys are very friendly. And so are the ducks. There is a pretty reservoir nearby which some caravans can overlook, Its lovely to walk by and safely fenced off. Little streams run through areas of the site and children can play in them.
The countryside around is beautiful, with much to discover for all ages. We would and have recommened this site to our friends and they have enjoyed it as much as we have. Bridgwater and Taunton are short drives away, Kilve beach (a favourite of ours) is 15 mins drive away, There are lots of good eating out areas nearby, and Exmoor and Lyme regis are easily reachable.

We stayed at Currypool Mill for 7 nights over the bank holiday week. Site was very busy with mainly caravans. The site consists of 3 fields, the bottom one is nearer to the toilets and the bins, then there are two fields higher up that are situated side by side. We stayed at the very top of the field on the right hand side, we did get some traffic noise but not a lot and it didn't effect our stay. The toilet& shower facilities were clean but theycould have done with being a little bigger and would definitely benefit from having a separateshower block .The little shop stocks a few things such as tinned foods, eggs, confectionery, ice cream and juice. The play area consists of a small set of swings, a spinning seesaw and a football field. They have a small putting field and the clubs / balls are provided free of charge. The swimming pool is very small and very shallow, we didn't use it but there always seemed to be a few children in there. They do have a dog walking area but as we don't have a dog we didn't walk along it so cannot comment.
The owners seemed to be very friendly and told us that they would never turn anyone away and that they would always find somewhere for you to stay.
Bridgewater is a nice little town, about10minutedrive, it has all the essential shops, supermarkets, petrol stations etc.
We went to Sedgemoor Splash which is a nice swimming pool with a couple of slides, if you pay to park on the car park near the pool after you have finished in the pool you can walk to Bridgewater.
There are lots of different and interesting places to go all within easy reach andat £14.50a night (2 adults, 1 child with hookup) I certainly recommend it.

We stayed here for a week. It's a fairly small site which mainly had caravans on. Most people appeared to be regulars who kept their vans here but were friendly. There were very few children on the site and was very quiet. It is situated in lovely countryside in Somerset. The site itself has a fairly new, very clean but slightly basic facilities. The showers were the push button type but warm, free and no queues. There was a sink for washing up which required a 20p token. However, there was never a queue for this either. There is also a washing machine which we didn't use and a small shop. The shop sells a lot of local produce from the nearby farm shop Blackmore Farm, which is well worth a visit. There is also a dog walking area and a pitch and putt course. Currypool mill is a watermill and they also keep donkeys so the wider site is quite pretty. All pitches had electric hookup. If the site was full the pitches would be quite close together but it was quiet when we were there and our pitch was more than ample for our large tent and estate car. The owners were friendly and helpful. In the wider area, there is Blackmore farm shop about a mile away which does a good range of yummy local produce, with a local spar, butchers and bakers in Cannington and supermarkets about 15 minutes drive in Bridgewater. The nearest pub is just over a mile and about 30 minutes walk. All in all a nice quiet, simple site which was excellent value at £8.50 per night. Would definitely recommend if you want peace and quiet without all the frills of a big site.

This was our second visit to the site. Both visits were very peaceful. We had 2 teenagers with us who loved visiting and grooming the very friendly Donkey's. Excellent dog walking facilities including a large field all enclosed (at the back of the stored vans) for the dogs to run free. The children had a playing field a little way from the tents and caravans where there were streams to play in and a small pond with a small boat to go in. A small indoor pool was available on request. The toilet and shower block was adequate and immaculately clean (even if it was a bit old). We were told by Renee the owner that a new toilet block is planned for 2006. This will make the site for us a 10/10. We shall visit again. Renee was a very friendly host and nothing was too much trouble for her. The only downside for us was on our first visit we had difficulty finding the site from the main road.
