We have just returned from 3 weeks at this site and enjoyed every minute.
The site is perfectly situated close to Watergate Bay and Newquay.
The beach at Watergate is within walking distance using the coastal path which we did most days. The walk back is a little harder mind as its uphill, but you get used to it.
The beach itself is perfect, RNLI lifeguards on hand together with good facilities, shops, café, toilets etc as well as Jamie Oliver’s “15” restaurant.
The site is clean and of the usual standard that you expect from a Club site and is spread over 2 fields, either side of the lane. Only one of the fields has hook-ups.
The toilet facilities in the main field are looking a little tired and could do with updating.
The site is one of the quietest that I have ever been to.
A fish and chip van visits once a week, and a strawberry man visited several times selling local strawberries (which were delicious).
There is a small shop on site selling only bare essentials, the nearest supermarket is actually in Newquay which is about a 20min drive.
Given that the site is cliff top, wind should be expected, there were very few days when it didn’t blow at all.
Newquay airport is close by but is very quiet, it’s a positive for plane spotters, even the red arrows made an appearance while we were there.
However, the pitches do not seem to be quite as well spaced out as usual club sites.
There are no play facilities for children, which is fine given the proximity of the beach.
Whilst we were there, for the first week there were no showers in our field and we had the cross the road and queue for one of only 2 at the other field.
During the 2nd week there was then no hot water in the dish washing area. It seems the site is generally of very low pressure which affects the facilities, although how this is the case when the other field was OK I’m still not sure.
The site managers were anything but helpful or friendly. We booked with friends, arrived at exactly the same time but were still not allowed to camp next to, or even near to our friends. We felt infact that they went out of their way to separate us, a view that was shared by several other campers on the same site who had the same problem.
The Wi-Fi on the site is only readable from right outside the reception building so is of little use.
That said, we are planning on going back next year to the same site, I only hope they have changed the managers by then….

This is a Camping and Caravan Club Site and the previous mention of bowling alley does not apply and is not this site.
It is a very popular site and quite close to the Coastal Path. The toilets were kept very clean and checked fairly regularly. There is a large laundry with two washers and dryer.
However, when we were there, the benches under the sinks were dirty and had not been cleaned for days, so don't put clean washing there.
It was very windy but it is near the coast. You probably need to book well in advance to get on this site in the summer.
It is fairly near Newquay International Airport but not many planes flew over when we were there and they were not too noisy.
The local buses can be caught at the end of the road, which is a short walk away.
You can travel into Newquay, etc. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

We booked a pitch here as a last minute holiday.
From the initial phone call to book till the time we were left the staff were very helpful.
Overall the facilities were excellent and offered good value for money. The toilet blocks were clean and well serviced and despite the fact it was busy we never had the almost customary wait that some sites can have for the shower, another plus was the showers were free ie no feeding in 20p's.
We noted there had been some previous review comments about the wind. We were of the opinion that as this is near to the sea and on a headland this was only to be expected. On our stay there was a sea breeze but certainly nothing that would give rise to concern.
The Family owners of the site have clearly continued investment, with new Sports bar and bowling alley, in fact there's something for everyone on site. Once off the sites this is an ideal base location for exploration with some excellent beaches a short drive nearby. If you want to leave the car on site try a 20min walk to Morgan Porth. 10 out of 10

We stayed in the little camping site on the other side of the road from the reception. The field was fairly flat and you were taken to your pitch and guided on the best way to put your tent. There was plenty of space for the children to run around which was great as there are no play areas, also no ball games are allowed or any throwing games (like the whistling rockets that are popular). The toilets were spotless and showers lovely and hot. View lovely although a bit blustery, but that's the price you pay to watch the sun go down into the sea from your tent! The host friendly and helpful, we didn't use the shop so can't comment on the stock! You should know that you are not allowed to burn wood of any sort on this site, so if you normally take wood to burn on your bbq, or you think it's ok to put a bit on after you have eaten it's not! the problem as the host explained is that they are in a smoke free zone and he could lose his campsite license. You get a little instruction leaflet when you arrive which says no logs, but actually its no wood at all.

Have stayed here for many years now. Good site, perfectly located, Shop well stocked (from the local Lidl by the looks of it)loo's always clean and water always hot.
Watergate bay is perfect for a weeks beach/body boarding and although the hill is steep, after the first walk or two up you start not to notice. Either that or the two car parks are very reasonably priced. Padstow is only about 15mins away and the travellers rest in Trevvarian, although a bit spit and sawdust, is a nice level walk for a drink and some grub.
Would recommend if camping in one tent, can be a bit of a stress setting up if there's two or more as pitches are on a first come first served basis so two (or more)together can't be guaranteed.

Have just come back from an excellent week at Tregurrian, our first ever visit to Newquay for a holiday. We pitched in Bay View which is the smaller facility on the opposite side of the road to the main site. Great for the kids who could roam about safely and as the site was not full they had loads of room to play but if it had been full, as there is no play area they would have been restricted to the area around the tent or those of the many friends they made.
Excellent facilities as you'd expect from a C&CC site. Clean toilets, hot showers (push button type), indoor dishwashing area, laundry room (tumble dryer 50p for 20 minutes). Great location. Watergate Bay is within walking distance but a steep hill climb back and Mawgan Porth just a few minutes away by car both of which are great beaches. Newquay is 5 minutes away by car.
Site Managers and assistants very helpful and friendly and are on hand whenever required.
Site is a little exposed and our tent along with other fibreglass tunnel tents suffered some damage with the high winds from the tail end of the hurricane one evening but then it is very close to the coast and it could have been much worse.
This site has 'supersize pitches' which we didn't know until after arriving so will accept larger tents, something which we hope to take advantage of next year when we will definitely be making a return visit.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Site is conveniently located for Watergate Bay/Newquay/Mawgan Porth. Excellent facilities including laundry room, family bathroom, disabled toilet etc. Warm welcome from wardens on arrival. Reception also has decent range of supplies including local bacon and eggs and newpapers can be pre-ordered. Site also has wifi and vouchers can be purchased at reception. Also book swap and free mags for borrowing. There is a motorhome service point across the lane in the 'overflow' site. This site also has separate outside wetsuit shower and tub for rinsing off and rotary clothes dryer. The coastal path can be reached easily - look out for the Peregrine Falcons but don't get too distracted as those cliffs are high!
Both Watergate Bay and the beach at Mawgan Porth are dog friendly but the beach at Porth is not. Lifeguards are also present. Would recommend the tapas bar at Porth opposite the beach and the Merrymoor pub at Mawgan Porth.

Just spent the end of May Bank Holiday at this site. I cannot rate it high enough. We were down here at the same time as the 'Run for the Sun' festival but luckily that didn't affect our site. We walked along the coastal path a few times.
From the moment we arrived, everything was ideal. As we were booked for a pitch with EHU we were given a choice of pitches sited on the patch behind the main reception block. This was mainly motorhomes and caravans.
The staff were as helpful as you could want - they know the area and can help you with anything (including getting a replacement airbed at short notice!).
The shower block was spotless at all times. Luckily I never had to queue for a shower but I think fellow campers can be the big problem there. The toilet / shower block is set up in the 'continental' style with 3 showers and a handful of cubicles with wash basins but yet my fellow campers still insist on hogging the shower cubicles to get dried / dressed / brush hair rather than vacating the shower and moving into a cubicle to do so.
The showers are the push button style but it didn't pose any problems, the water pressure was fabulous and the temperature ideal.
The water points and elsan facilities were top notch. The shop stocked enough bits and pieces to tide you over. If you do come without any of your camping supplies - drive out to Trago Mills as this is by far the cheapest place in the area. We tried the camping shop in Newquay and St Agnes too but they were nowhere near as good. Trago Mills is worth a visit anyway as is Padstow. Newquay was OK but very busy and a bit like Blackpool but that may just be due to the events going on in the area during our stay.
To sum up - A bit blustery but fantastic nothing negative. I would definitely recommend this site to friends and family.

Visited this site for 1 week. site facilities and management / owners first class. Area plus surrounding countryside spectacular. Loads of things to see and do for all types of people. Only downside was wind could be a bit blustery,( expected at coastal site), but a good tent will cope no probs. Thoroughly recommend this site for all ages.

I stayed here with my partner for 7 nights and we were both very impressed with the facilities. The toilets and showers were spotless (and free), the best I have seen on a campsite. However they did get busy at times as there was only 3 female showers and 3 male showers but there were plenty of toilets and wash basins. There was also no plug on the site for my straighteners (nightmare!) but there was a hairdryer which cost 20p. An outdoor shower was provided which stopped the shower blocks getting dirty from wetsuits and there was also a washing line to dry them on too.
We were lucky enough to get great weather all week but it did get very windy at times (even in a highly sheltered pitch) as the site was situated at the top of a hill.
The only negative was the price, as we weren't members at the time so there was an additional charge of £40, which averaged are stay out to £26 a night for 2 adults, one tent, one car and no electricity. However the facilities made up for the price so we weren't disappointed. There was also an additional charge of 45p per ice pack if you wanted to freeze them which for us for a week with 3 ice packs being frozen every day added up to quite a bit.
Watergate Bay was a short walk away (10 mins) where there were a few places to eat. But it was down a steep hill so the walk back wasn't as pleasant. Padstow and Newquay are a short drive away and great for stuff to do.
In all the campsite was great we would stay here again now that we are members but a bit expensive if you're not. But I would definitely recommend it.
