Visited site at Whitsun. Fantastic, friendly staff.
Very flat pitches which were in great condition given some very wet weather the previous days. Site very clean and well maintained.
Toilets and showers were of a very high standard and clean at all times. No play area, site has small shop for bread, milk, eggs and various essentials.
Site is very close to a number of high quality surf and swimming beaches, most of which are Life Guard served.
In easy reach of Newquay and Padstow and the various smaller well known coastal villages.
Good value for money.
Overall a good Site.

Lovely site, good proximity to anywhere on that coast, (Newquay, Padstow etc). Site manager Linzi made great efforts to ammend our pitch so that our family could be close together. We go yearly, but this was the best yet. Also a handy supermarket on the adjoining site, which we were allowed to use.

We are a family of 4, kids are 11 & 13. This site is a the top of watergate bay. It is on either side of a road which seemed to be caravans mainly on the right hand side and tent camping on the left. The toilets were extremely clean and well kept. Reception was very helpful. There was a fish and chips van that served the site on a Mon eve and a very good shop within 3min walk at the watergate bay camp site just up the road. It was mostly a level site and although fairly near Newquay airport you hardly noticed the planes. Great for walking the coastal path.

Weve just got back from here and had a great time The site is clean well cared for and the staff are good too. We stayed on the main field just behind reception with there being 3 caravan in our party the staff managed to get us all together which was fantastic. The beach is a fair treck though its quite a steep coastal path and we found it easier to take the car down and park on the hill top car park for 3 quid for a full day. The beaches in this area are great theres lots to do if you havent been to the area before allthough we did struggle as weve been to cornwall 5 times, flambards is a good day out and from what ive heard its better than crealys there more to do,our kids were 9 and 5 id say its ideal for then The only thing I can say that was bad was the fact your on top of a hill and most days felt chilly with the wind then when you left the site it was roasting,so dont get caught out without suncream All in all the site is great the staff had a sense of humour always a good sign, child friendly good facilties We had a lovely time.

Nice well run site. Good shop left 100 yards for fresh bread, croissants. Long climb up from the beach, but lots of greatCornish beaches within easy reach. Great pub, 1 mile, turn left out of site gate. Called Travellers Rest, well behaved adults welcome with their kiddoes. Also worth a trip into St Mawgen, free parking behind the post office, which does a nice cream tea. Plenty of car parks around, cost £3-£5

This really is a good site. Lovely toilets and showers, clean hot. Lots of good surfing nearby. It was near capacity when we were there, but still good. Handy mini market next door on adjoining site which is well stocked. About 10 minutes away from Newquay. 5 mins from Porth one way, and 5 mins from Mawgen Porth the other. Our kids and grandkids all want to go again, so makes one less problem of which site to visit.

August 2005 We have just returned from a week staying at this site and have really enjoyed ourselves. The site is on a hill over-looking the sea and bay, split into two fields, one with electricity and without. Being on a hill it did get quite windy. Site managers very friendly and helpful, a good information pack handed out on arrival. The Mother and baby room was excellent, the office sold some basic bits, although a campsite further up had a larger supermarket. The camping and caravan club sites are always excellent we have yet to stay in one we are not happy with, its a case of you know what your going to get. Small site, NO play area, clubs and noise, just what we like. The site just up from it was the opposite with a pool, games area, evening entertainment, LOTS of people and noise. Its a personal preference but small and friendly suits our family. Who needs entertainment for the children when you are a short drive from Watergate bay. The beach is amazing, it has life gards, Fab surf and a cool cafe which is being taken over by Jamie Oliver on one of his restraunt projects. Its a great place and lots to do in the are, Padstow don't miss out on Rick Steins chip shop, a bit pricey but the fish is fab. We spent an evening on Porth Beach (the next bay up from Tregurrian) in the camper and had a BBQ which was great fun. If you like VW campers you will be in heaven in this area. Highly recommend.

May 2005 We have just returned from a fortnight camping at this site, and would recommend it to anyone. We have 2 small children and this site is just 10 mins walk from one of the best beaches in the country. They also serve the best coffee in the beach front bar at watergate bay!. The site is really quiet and the kids loved riding their bikes around. The facilities are fantasic - spotlessly clean and the best showers we have ever had on a campsite! The wardens are really friendly and helpful.

August 2004 We have been using this site for years. Its a C&CC site, toilets and showers were newly rebuilt a few years ago and are excellent. There is a wet suit shower at the back of the toilet block. The site is just outside Newquay so you dont have all the crowds. From some of the pitches there are sea views. A short walk takes you to the cornish foot path that follows the coast. The beaches and views are stunning.
Watergate bay is a very large beach that is ideal for all ages, a plus for the site is that it is within walking distance from the beach. It is up hill going back towards the site and takes about 10 to 15 mins. The beach has life guards and is popular with surfers and body boarders and recently kite surfing. Surfing lessons can be booked at the beach. Even though our children no longer come with us this is still a favourite location for us. You need to book this site very early as it is always full during the school holidays.

August 2003 We had a great week here in Aug 2003. It is set down a lane and away from main roads. A C&CC site with non-members welcome. The site is divided by the side road with the reception in between. Huge parking area in front for when you first arrive. Very nice people to welcome you.
Within the first hour of setting up a plane roared overhead much to the delight of the kids (8,6,3) and when another one did the same a few hours later it prompted us to check the map. The site is right next to Newquay airport.!!! However, this was not an issue by day 2 and in fact we all looked forward to the next take off as it was exciting.
The site is 10 minutes walk down to the famous Watergate Bay. Perfect sandy beach for swimming, surfing and evening strolls. Coastal paths in both directions are great for dog owners.
The camp site down the lane has a supermarket and restaurant which you can access (handy for fresh croissants in the morning)
A great base for most of cornwall. We went to Land's End which only took 40 minutes in the car. We didn't like Newquay Town much as we found it crowded with teenagers who were drinking. Also found it a bit tacky, but typical seaside stuff really.
