Just returned from Southview and I must say it has got to be the best campsite in the area by far.

Everything about it is class, the shower blocks are modern and clean, a new £1 million pound showbar has been built for this season which is very impressive, you have use of all the facilities on here ie: swimming pool gym sauna,

Which for what we paid [£11 a night for 5 of us] is an absolute bargain.

Just returned from having a lovely weekend at this site!

It’s big! More like a housing estate than a campsite, but still has the feel of a good quality site.

The showers and toilet blocks are always clean, the children’s play areas are good, and the reception staff are very polite and friendly.

We stayed on a hard standing pitch which had lots of room and the whole area was kept very clean.

A bus service picks you up from the site direct to Skegness, takes 10 minutes to get to the doughnut stall, Great!

On retuning to the site in the afternoon, we tried out the indoor swimming pool, more like bath water, it was 30 degrees! Just what you need when it’s -1 at night.

They have just completed a new bar/entertainment centre which we went to in the evening. Elvis was on and we had a good night.

We paid £22. 00 for the weekend, cheep as chips! It must go up later in the year, if not I will live there permanently

We will definitely be returning to this site and eating lots of doughnuts

Just returned from a very wet long weekend at this site.

We found the staff to be extremely helpful, most facilities where spotlessly clean apart from the toilets near costa coffee which where always filthy.

The Sunday lunch carvery is a must for £5.99.

The pool is small, warm and was supervised by 2 lifeguards whilst we where there.

You are give a pass which gives access to evening entertainment and pool etc and they check it.

Groups of pitches are separated by tall hedges, which means there are no views. Also the grass part of our pitch got water logged, which the local ducks enjoyed. Local takeaways deliver to site. There is also a bus to Skegness which leaves hourly.

For £15 a night including facilities for 6 people it was a bargain.

Ideal for a weekend out of season but I would prefer somewhere with a view for sitting out having a bbq in the summer.

Came for a week - on arrival our pitch was flooded completely even though it was hard standing

Asked to be moved and was given choices of other vacant pitches - which were all as flooded to be honest drainage is an obvious problem. However we choose another pitch and put up awning on the grass which was wet but not flooded at this point. However more rain came and we ended up having to go to local supermarkets for loads of thick cardboard boxes to open and put down under our awning and from the awning door to the concrete so that we could actually get into our caravan this did suffice with lots of cardboard to soak up the rain and mud. Thank heaven for local shops in Skegness

At one point in the week and industrial water scooper up came and mopped up the mega surface water off the other hard standing sites but not the ones already occupied.

The facilities on site were good, club house, bars, swimming pool and restaurants we used although in height of summer I would think would be very crowded.

The toilet block had plenty of toilets, private and open wash basin areas and showers all clean and warm with piped music in a nice touch

There is also a self service laundrette on site next to the toilets as well

A lovely site and well worth staying but it does need the drainage sorting out badly so if it rains you need wellies just to get into yr caravan !

It is only a short bus ride into Skegness and the actual local bus service comes into the camp on a regular basis

Lots of local pubs and restaurants near by if you don't want to cook or eat on site

Just got back today cant wait to go back next year

The bad points are

Club way too small which security assured me they were going to extend over winter

The showers too hot and no temperature control

Could do with better drainage

The good points

Showers and toilets kept clean and tidy

Staff very helpful

Laundrette prices reasonably priced as is the shop and the club

Entertainment in family club is absolutely excellent for both adults and children

My kids are 11 12 and 14 and they all loved the club

Upon arriving southview has definitely got the wow factor after reading some off the reviews on here before we left I was a little nervous about coming but was very relieved when we got there

Beautiful waterfalls on entrance then massive hotel and lake as you drive in absolutely stunning unbelievable value for the price

So cant wait to see them all again next year

All pitches are hard standing, grass for the awning, water, hookup, drainage.

When it rains most of the pitches flood the awnings, what a nightmare 3 days everything in there was soaked, the seasonal owners say it happens regular when it rains, some even had sewerage in. I will not return until this is sorted out,

Good points, site is very large but is immaculate, showers are hot and tidy, Swimming pool was ok but small for the site.Playgrounds for young children,Club with entertainment,L ots of feature ponds but not fenced off.

Just got back from 5 nights at Southview and overall a very well maintained and pleasant site.

The sports bar was good with nice decking area overlooking a lake. We thought the meals in there were good value (several meals 2 for £10) and good portions. The beer was reasonably priced too(£2.75 a pint)

The main club was a little too small for the size of the site but we still managed to get a table. The kids loved the entertainment and the outside play area.

The toilet block was clean and tidy with radio playing the only downside being the showers were a little too hot(not very often you here that).

the swimming pool was basic but clean and tidy.

All the staff were friendly and helpful, the security guard unlocked reception for us so my wife could breast feed our daughter in peace and comfort.

Skegness was only a five minute drive with plenty of nice shops and loads of things to keep the kids entertained.

Overall a great site and we will definitely be going back.

This was our second visit to this site, the first being last year. Every thing was the same with regard to the great facilities and friendly staff. Toilets were very clean and so were the showers. Prices generally have increased a lot. Last years golf was £5 per week. Very cheap, it is now £15 per day to play a nine hole course in poor condition. The price of drinks in the bar are also high, e. Over £6 for two drinks last year the sports bar was very busy and all the outside seats were always full this year they were always empty. Need I say more?

Check in was swift and informative, lady on reception was so polite and helpful. At this point it should be noted that, unknown to us, Park Resorts have taken over the 'management' of this site. Having stayed in a tourer on Park Resorts sites before, my expectations plummeted (having booked this site for its great reviews). Park Resorts only taken over in the last month or so, I am informed. Security staff also very helpful and friendly.

Next to reception is a well stocked shop, gift shop, amusements and the main showbar. The site is huge - hundreds of statics and touring area large too. Our pitch was a 15 min walk away from these facilities although only a couple of mins from sports bar, swimming pool and shower / toilet block.

There seems to be a lot of tourers pitched for the season and these look a little untidy. The rest of the park is well kept and clean. Didn't take the dogs this time and am pleased I didn't - the dog walking area was the same size as our back garden. The entrance to site was a main road which didn't look to me to be good dog walking either. Didn't explore though.

Toilets - at first glance modern and well furbished - radio playing inside a nice touch. However, every time I went there was toilet roll on floor - not dirty but untidy! Most of the toilet seats were loose. Showers a good size for changing (3 in the block I used - was only one I saw but cannot be sure) and water flow OK until someone else used one then not so good. Warm though and clean enough. The basics are there and it would only take cleaning more often to make the facilities excellent.

Toilets are accessed via code pad on door - much better than the one key you sometimes get! Just a note - my OH tells me the men's were of same standard but smelled awful. Shower in mens' was good though.

The main club with entertainment was too small for site. We arrived at 8pm - there was not even standing room. Queue's for bar. Very family orientated. We sat outside so didn't see entertainment but usual Park Resorts type.

Toilets very untidy (what is it with toilet roll and floors in these places?), and cisterns took so long to fill that people were not flushing. Hand dryer didn't work so probably explains why toilet roll on floor!

Did not see a menu in this bar so wandered over to the 'hotel' where you are invited to eat. Very upmarket and prices to match! With 4 kids in tow would have cost us more that the whole weekend pitch price to eat! Was a fish / chip / kebab van outside - kebab was the worst I have ever tasted - would not recommend!

Basic swimming pool - no flumes etc. Small children's pool but am told both were warm as children's area just a cornered off part off main pool. Sports bar quite old fashioned with T.V's and one pool table. Didn't see snooker room, internet room or gym. But Costa Coffee nicely settled in.

Few gaming machines but a very old and tired looking venue all in all. Except for the newly installed outside decking area which would be lovely overlooking the lake on a summer evening with a beer (which, typical Park Resort, over inflated prices). No entertainment in this venue over the bank holiday weekend.

We paid £63 for a 3 night weekend over Whitsun which is great value for 2 adults and 4 children. The site was full but the pitches are nice and large although you look out over a sea of other caravans. Concrete standing for van and car. Usual bank hol weather with some heavy downpours but didn't see any sign of flooding although we have had a good run of dry weather so plenty of soaking up to be done! Value for money is good as you pay for pitch not per person plus pitch. However, had to be off site by 10 (security drive around to make sure!) which is a bit early for those with a full awning.

As it was a rainy weekend there was little on offer for kids to do (was a decent outside play area near sports bar but too wet to use). When they went swimming on Sat morning it was too full and they weren't letting anyone in - not even on a one in one out basis. We went in search of daytime entertainment to be told that the planned line dancing was for adults only. 2 elderly ladies took part on the dance floor - a dozen kids dancing in the aisles! Eventually teamstar 'bent' rules and allowed children to join in (the ladies didn't mind) and so common sense ruled! However, entertainment was sparse and not worth traipsing 15 mins through the rain for.

Skegness resort 10 mins by car, Ingoldmells 15 mins but as it was bank holiday, a 4 mile trip took half hour! Hence this site isn't the best situated for surrounding resorts.

All in all I think the site is too large for the facilities - and having spoken to 'seasonal' caravanners they also agree. The site is much better when it is not bank hol / school holidays I am told. Whether Park Resorts have 'managed' to turn a site which had nothing but good reviews to a mediocre, overcrowded site remains to be seen from further opinions. Would I return? Definitely not when it is just hubby, me and dogs. If I return with kids it will be because of the decent pricing system - but definitely out of season!

Having just come back from a weekend break, we were disappointed to find the sports bar has changed to more of a restaurant and all entertainment has stopped, food prices have shot up. Rod Stewart tribute being advertised, only to be cancelled at last minute for a wedding reception. Entertainment in Star Bar was ok, not as good as last year and the entertainment team also not as good as last year. It is still worth a visit but wouldn't want to be spending my summer holiday there, weekend break is enough.
