Just returned from two days here and loved it, we will definitely go again. We had a problem with our caravan so had to leave early and didn't get a chance to see the surrounding village and area. We went to Parc Asterix which wasn't all that far. The facilities were clean and the Owner was welcoming. Pool and playground were a hit with our Grandson.
The only downside was the difficult road into and the unmade roads within the site.
Having paid three times as much in Belgium we thought the site was very reasonable we were three people a dog and two cats, with electricity and it was 55 euros for two nights.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of a 3 week tour of France. Liked the fact we could pick our own spot and did find it was very busy with English and Dutch campers, probably because the owner speaks such excellent English! We found a gem of a spot and although it seemed as if we were miles from the toilet block, we managed to find a cut through past the swimming pool which cut the journey in half. The toilets were really clean but there was an issue with the water in the showers. They are having problems with the water pressure but when you are lathered up with shampoo and no water that's not helpful to know! However we managed to get rinsed off so all was well!
We loved being able to have an open campfire and toasting marshmallows was another exciting first for my 6 year old who also loved the (cold) pool!
Didn't use the shop etc as we weren't there long enough.
Shortcut to the village (torch a must if going at night) was a pleasant walk and it's a nice village to wander around.
Well situated for day trips into Paris and owner very helpful at giving directions, recommending tickets etc.

We spent four nights at Campix in a motorhome.
This site is certainly different from any other campsite we have stayed on.
On arrival you walk around to find a pitch - we were all tired and hot and the site is huge, so this wasn't exactly appreciated (particularly as the fist pitch we picked turned out to have just been snapped up by someone else).
As others have said, the site is in a disused quarry and has an attractive 'wild' look with lots of different pitches - some open, some in nooks and crannies. We had considerable road noise on our pitch, there is a road used by lorries next to the site, and depending on where you are pitched you may hear it.
The site does allow campfires which will be attractive to some but not to others - we didn't appreciate the constant smokiness in the evening. The ground is very hard and rocky and we couldn't manage to peg our awning in so took it down again.
The pool area is quite small and not supervised at all, so rules are completely disregarded - when we were there there was copious faecal matter in the baby pool and a Dutch couple used the pool showers to wash their labrador! People regularly smoked by the poolside or played ball games inside the smallish pool, thus making it difficult for others to enjoy it.
There is a small but exciting playground which makes use of the terrain by having a long steep slide, as well as equipment for younger children.
We only use the showers and toilets a couple of times after swimming, but they were always clean and toilet paper is provided.
The motorhome service point / chem toilet disposal is tucked away into a corner and the state of it is rather indicative of how some other campers seem to treat the facilities at this site - the vegetation surrounding it is covered in bits of toilet paper - presumably people rinse their cassettes and then toss the rinse water into the bushes.
We went to Paris by train from the station in St Leu D'Esserent, it meant changing once but at least we were able to just walk there from the site (about 15 minutes). The reception has a good stock of leaflets about nearby attractions.

This was our third visit and it was the busiest we had ever seen it. We eventually found a pitch that we liked after our walk round on arrival.
There is a new reception area this year and a cafe which is open till 11 at night no noise could be heard from where we pitched, was a bit pricey we thought but you are on holiday I suppose, bread now has to be ordered here and is delivered rather than the van driving around. The cafe also replaces the frite van.
Easy access to Paris from Fosses station but be warned if you have been before parking in front of station is now limited and you need to use free car park 500 metres up the road.

There were tents all around us and they just kept coming until we couldn't move, even taking our parking place. The water points are miles away - all 4 of them for this whole site -then you have to pull your bottle back up the hill. If like us you were at the very top then the walk to the toilet block was unbearable and when we did get there (in the car) then the water failed to come out the showers. The prices in the shop cum bar were astronomical. The road system around the site was thin steep, rough terrain downhill.

We stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of a three week holiday stay
The site is certainly peaceful and quiet.
The facilities are modern, but were inadequate for high season.
The first night, after a long journey, I climbed into a shower. The water did not come on beyond the tiniest dribble and I abandoned it. I went to reception (after dressing!) but the 'very helpful' site owner dismissed the matter stating it wasn't his problem.
This is the only site in 35 years of camping in Europe where I have seen open fires. When down wind of a neighbour's, this is decidedly not an attraction.

We visited this campsite as a group of 11 members of one family. We had two tents. We were so impressed and are really looking forward to another visit this August. This is such a wonderful campsite especially waking up to the beautiful smell of lavender every morning. We had children with us between the ages of 16 and 2 and the pool area kept all of them very happy.
It was an easy journey to Disneyland Paris and we also got cheap tickets to Parc Asterix from the very friendly manager Xavier who speaks perfect English which was really helpful as none of our French was up to scratch. The whole area is really wonderful and it is a nice little walk to the local small supermarket in the village and not too much of a drive to the large supermarket. Le Pain Van in the morning was very welcome with the children getting really used to croissants and pain au chocolat for breakfast (which was impossible for us to keep up when we got home much to their disappointment). The burger van in the evening came in really handy when we came back too late to cook and was not too expensive. We have absolutely no downsides to this campsite and can't wait to return

Stayed at this site for 4 nights on our way through France. Once in the village follow the signs to the campsite its well signposted. There's a really friendly owner who speaks good English and asks you to walk around the site and pick your own pitch.
Those with tents might want to be around the toilet facilities as there's none on the outskirts of the campsite which is huge. All pitches are large with privacy as this is in a disused quarry.
Toilet facilities are more than enough and were always clean with separate dishwasing. There's a path at the top of the campsite which takes you into the village. Shops, supermarket and a great local bar in the centre.
We took the train into Paris which cost 13 euro return from Fosses / Survilliers station about 20 mins drive from the site, you can park for free outside. You can use your ticket for all transport in and around Paris.
This is a gem of a site and you can really lose yourself in some of the secluded areas. Would return without any doubt.

We have just returned from a 4 day break at this site, and thought it was excellent.
The site is a bit tricky to find, but the owner was really helpful when I phoned for directions - he speaks excellent English which is a bonus! He also gave us loads of maps and ideas of places to visit.
As other reviewers have said, pitches aren't allocated in advance so you can choose something that suits you. We didn't need a hook up so had a huge choice. As the site is set in a quarry the ground is a little hard - make sure you have plenty of tent pegs with you as we bent loads. Being able to have campfires was a real bonus as it did get a bit chilly in the evenings.
The toilet and shower blocks were clean, and there was always plenty of hot water regardless of what time of day you used the showers. The pool area is great, it is cleaned daily and a real suntrap.
The campsite is a little way from the village, at least a 10 minute walk, and uphill on the way back. The shortcut pathway is unmade and unlit, so make sure you take a torch if you will be late back. The village itself is pretty quiet, the only bar we found closed at 8.30 sharp each evening. The Carrefore supermarket is easy to get to by car - although it closes at 8 during the week and is only open on Sunday morning.
We took the train to Paris which was easy enough, although I did have to check with another passenger that we were getting the right train as the signage at the station isn't great. We also had to change trains. I'm sure the owner would be able to provide you with the info you need before you set off.
We would definitely go back to this campsite.

We read all the reviews of various sites first and decided to stop at Campix for two nights and then move on. In the end we stopped for six nights and just toured each day around the area which has so much to offer. We are just an older couple but for families with children the swimming pool at the camp and the proximity of the river beach and several theme parks around has to be good (cheaper tickets to Parc Asterix from reception). Its nice that there are no dogs allowed but campfires and barbecues are permitted. There is remarkable privacy among the trees and if you don't want to queue for a shower or loo then go earlier or later. We never queued. The manager is very helpful and the bread delivery in the morning and the chap selling fries and burgers in the evening is good. Of course it is better to be nearer the facilities if you don't want to walk. There seems to be spaces always available and once you get to St Leu there are plenty of signs to the camp. Once found it's easy to get there afterwards. We met some nice people - lots of Dutch and English. Of course, nowhere is totally perfect and when you are sharing with hundreds of others then some compromise is necessary but we enjoyed ourselves and would certainly return there again.
