This is a lovely homely camp/caravan site. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. The amenities are basic but clean and sufficient. You do have to pay for the showers but at £18. 50 for a campervan for the night (powered site) you cannot complain. We also camp as well as campervan and the pitches looked good.
It has a busy pub next door with with real ale and good food, though we didn't get a chance to eat there. There is a bunk barn at the bottom of the hill, with the campsite across the road for those who have want slightly more comfort, though this isn't owned by the campsite.

We stayed in touring caravan for 3 nights over the bank holiday, the campsite was clean and tidy and very peaceful, some pitch's are on a bit of a slope. The toilets and showers were also clean and tidy the only problem was the showers kept going hot and cold. The owners called round site in morning and asked if everything was ok. The site it self is a good base for exploring the surrounding area either by car or just walking. The pub next door to the site is very friendly and serves some very nice food and well worth a visit. We would definitely use this site again when we visit this area again.

We stayed here 2 nights in Aug en route to Northumberland. On arrival we didn't see anyone but there was a sign directing campers where to pitch saying the owners would find you some time. So we headed down and pitched up for the night as had already paid in advance. To get to the camping field you go down past some permanent mobile homes, then some caravan pitches until you reach the tent site.
The field is gently sloping and there were sheep in the field behind. This is a basic site and suited our needs for 2 nights. The pub next door was closed most of the time we were there so I can't review that!
It took us a while to find the drinking water taps; there seemed to be none in the field where we were but a couple round the touring sites for caravans.
Toilet block was adequate and showers run on 20ps I think but we didn't use them.
I wouldn't describe it as a site you'd stay all day at if you have children as it's near a road you can access directly from the site and there is no shop or play equipment. But as a reasonably priced, pleasant stop off for 2 nights I can't fault it.
We visited Hardraw Falls, Wensleydale and the Ingleton Waterfall walk whilst in the area.
We did manage to meet the lady running the site as we were leaving and she seemed very friendly!

Stayed in our motorhome at Streethead Caravan Park for a Saturday night in August as we wanted to visit Aysgarth Falls. Campsite was great, owners were really friendly and relaxed. £15 for 1 night and £3. 50 for hookup. Toilets were really clean and site was busy but quiet and relaxing. Some people have mentioned the noise but we didn't notice it. It's about 2 1/2 miles from the falls. There was a pub next door (not that we visited it). Would visit again.

A beautiful gem of a site. We stayed here after realising most of the Lake District sites were waterlogged or washed away and we're glad we did.
We wanted a site that was close to Aysgarth Falls but still peaceful and fully equipped. This site certainly proved to be this.
It's very easy to find, signed from main road and at the top of a hill right next to the Inn. There's uninterrupted views and no flooding worries!
There's plenty of electric hooks for tents if required and the tent area is separated from the main touring area and yes it's on a hillside, but we pitched our tent appropriately, had no problem and welcomed the drainage for the rain that never came.
The facilities are great, some of the cleanest toilet blocks I've seen in over 25 years, cheap powerful showers with even a heater overhead for drying afterwards.
The only fault, albeit a minor one, was the drive ways around the site had a few potholes in and the speed humps were difficult to see. A problem with infirm or tired legs. If it wasn't for this we would've rated 10 for everything.
The owners were very friendly and helpful, nothing seemed to e too much of a problem. They even came to see if we were OK after our first night was sub-zero!
The Streethead Inn next door has a warm welcoming, yet peaceful atmosphere and serves fresh and well priced food and local ales.
All told we can't wait to go back, Thank you for a lovely stay.

My wife and I have just returned from camping here for 2 nights. What a beautiful setting right in the heart of Wensleydale, the site is ok the field for the tents is more like a ski slope a bit steep but there are flattish plots, the walk to the toilet blocks is a bit of a trek and they are ok the water was hot and you had the usual stink of shower gel and waste! Just don't go in first thing in the morning if you have a hangover!
Unfortunately we were next to a large group with multiple barking dogs and screaming kids but you can get that any where.
There is a country pub next to the campsite which does food we ate there on the second night food was ok but pricey for pub grub, I would would recommend buying a pint of real ale or the Estrella Damm lager from Barcelona and sitting on the benches outside and enjoy the fantastic view! All in all a great weekend! Would we go back to this site? Unsure I am sure there's better in the area?

I have mixed opinions about this site. The views and drive up to it are outstanding and well worth the visit but I wasn't overly impressed with the site. It has statics, seasonal pitches, touring pitches and a camping field. We were pitched in the middle of an oval with seasonals all around the outside with about 5 tourers in the middle. Tents on a separate field. Out EHU didn't work at first so we had to 'borrow' one of the vacant seasonals. It was sorted quickly but was told it happens often. There were 2 showers (20p) 5 toilets, 2 washbasins. Using the toilets early found many without paper and all were very dirty. Didn't use showers because I didn't like the look of them. However the site owners are very friendly and helpful.
The pitches are very close together even the seasonals and on a slope. We had no chocks but thankfully other campers helped us to level up.
Had evening meal in pub next door and the food is lovely.
Glad we hadn't brought our dog as there was nowhere on site to walk. You are next to a road which can get noisy especially with motorcycles.
Not sure I would chose this site again but the surrounding area and views are stunning.

Arrived at Street Head Caravan Park 6th April 2012. We booked to stay for the Season. The owner had previously shown us the facilities and the area where we would be putting our caravan. On arrival for the season we were greeted by the owner's wife and shown to our pitch. Neighbouring pitches were very friendly and helpful.
Facilities on site are very good, with heaters in each shower cubicle, plenty of sinks in each toilet block and plugs for hairdryers. The toilet block is always kept very clean. There is a laundry room and washing up facilities.
The views from all around the site are outstanding. There is a beautiful view from every window in our caravan. Being here for the spring and summer, we have been privileged to see the change in the seasons every weekend and to see the local lambs growing.
Next door to the site is a pub which serves good homemade food.
It is in an ideal place for visiting Wharfdale. If you love walking there are excellent walks from Buckden, Starbotton and Kettlewell with plenty of tearooms and pubs along the way. Leyburn is 9 miles aways with plenty of shops for stocking up on food. Campbells is a very good local supermarket. Just up the road from the site as you head out to West Witton there is a Farm Shop which makes there own burgers and sausages for the BBQ.
We love this site and will be returning for another season next year.
One night, a few days, longer, you will be greeted and looked after by friendly, helpful family owners of this site.

Just spent 4 nights over the bank holiday weekend. Site is shared between statics, seasonal and touring pitches. Beautiful area with stunning views.
Pulled in early afternoon, site office is only open morning and tea time but sign tells you to chose a pitch. As it was a Bank Holiday and many had pre-booked the pitches were labelled with your name.
Field was quite muddy as it had rained heavily the night before, and 2 of the seasonal campers came to help me set up as I got the car bogged down first and then the trailer. Kindly helped me level up and provided extra blocks as there was a fair amount of slope. I was between two others so set myself bang in the middle.
Problems set in as the site filled up for the weekend. In my opinion units were far too close together; when my 2 neighbours vacated, their replacements were pegged up right next to my tent with less than a yard between their guy ropes and my walls. May have not pitched so close if supervised by the owners. Caravans on hard standings weren't much better with just enough space for car between your awning and neighbours unit.
Facilities were basic but clean, 2 showers in ladies, very small and temperamental due to drops in water pressure. 2 hooks for towels etc. Although you do get a good run for your 20p. 3 washbasins and good number of toilets. Hot water varied from tepid to scalding hot at the wash basins.
Laundry contains heavy duty washer and tumbler £1-50 for a wash cycle and 20p per 5 mins tumble dry.
Dish wash area with 2 sinks, hot water varied as above. Drain for chemical waste. Rubbish bins, although no recycling (surprising in these times). All these facilities are located at the top of the site so there is quite an uphill trek if you are in the camping field.
Two water points and a bin are halfway down the touring field.
Site is alongside fast and occasionally busy road. No play area or dog walk area on the site.
Heavy rain caused a few problems, particularly for those in the camping field. With a slope and a narrow entrance between trees it soon became a quagmire and many had to be towed out by the owner with his tractor.
Problems with the electricity which went off every night for varying periods, not sure if that was a regular occurrence or due to numbers on site or even the weather.
As I fell in love with the area I would probably use again though not in high season as it was too packed for my liking.
Would also like to recommend following the B6160 from the site towards Grassington. Stunning drive with the most fantastic views.

We arrived at Street Head Campsite for a 2 night stay. We received a very warm welcome from Mark!
The weather wasn't the best with a lot of rain already fallen and more forecast. The tourer field is on a hill which wasn't ideal the more rain there was. We left our car in the pub car park and walked down which wasn't a problem for us.
The toilets are clean and there is a mop there for you to mop the showers out after use.
The pub next door 'Street Head Inn' was fantastic food, again a lovely warm welcome and excellent hospitality.
On Sunday when we came to leave the touring field being pretty steep was very slippy and impossible to get cars out. A quick call to Mark and he was on hand with his 4x4 and tractor to tow the vehicles out.
Excellent views from the campsite and some really nice walks. We will definitely be staying here again. I hope a soggy weekend that couldn't be helped does to lead people to leave bad reviews of the site!
