This is a fantastic site and has had more toilets and another shower block added this year to make it even more perfect.
The views are tremendous. Mike (the site owner) is so friendly and helpful and you are left alone, without rules and regulations, to just enjoy being there.
We can recommend The Granary at Bucklawren for meals less than a mile away, L'ascares at Looe, and the Jubilee Inn at Pelynt.
Access roads are a little narrow but lorry drivers just select 'narrow gear' and keep going!
Have been going to Bay View for 3 years now and we will never go anywhere else.

I'm loathe to review this site as I can't quite put my finger on what I didn't like about it. Basically the view is the major attraction.
Toilet/shower block is fine. Looe is lovely. Allegedly there are some horses.
But there is something missing- flat ground. The slope really bugged me. The site would also benefit from any sort of landscaping- maybe a couple of trees, get rid of the plastic fences- and larger pitches.
Now, I will be the first to admit that these criticisms are 'big girl's blouse' territory, but we went there because we'd read reviews and were expecting something extra- special. Unfortunately it wasn't.

Stayed here for the 1st time for 4 nights can not fault this site in anyway shape or form! Views are magnificent toilets are huge and were always clean and the showers are the best I have seen for awhile!
Mike the owner is really friendly and helpful, for all the site was busy it was still very quiet and peaceful will certainly be visiting this one on a regular basis (returning at the end of the month for a week!)
Loved it!

The lane to get there is tight ! Met a couple of cars as we left- one got past, the other was too busy trying to direct us that traffic built up behind her- 6 cars later we got through.
The site has the most amazing views, Shame a caravan parked a bit too close to us & blocked the side views out- Left a gap just wide enough for us to open car doors- But they were ok. Awning up, then the picnic table they moved so only they could use & then their car ! That's the moan over.
We loved the site, The shower & 2 toilets are basic & there are lots of cobwebs, But I think that's all part of the charm. Very quiet & peaceful, No fuss no faffing- Don't think I would use the site in peak holidays- But then I don't think I would use any site in school holidays.
The shire horses are wonderful, clip clopping around at all hours & kicking the fence for attention. I would highly recommend this site & will be next year.

The fantastic view is the big plus point for this site. Stunning!
Friendly owners who are, as suggested in an earlier review, barking! Shire horses and the stable all add to the charm of the place.
The facilities are a big let down and do not match up to the well maintained camping and caravan areas complete with pampas grass adding to the great look of the site.
The toilets, showers and washbasins were not cleaned at any point during our 4 night stay. The cobwebs in the rafters are okish but dirty, paper strewn toilets and plug holes full of insects are unacceptable. The sight of someone cleaning the gutters and facias on the owners bungalow whilst the toilets were left filthy is a bit much!
Dishwasher area needs some attention, hot water is from a small instant boilers so runs out quickly and the drains need some attention as the sinks take ages to drain.

Great location with beautiful sea views, owners very friendly & helpful, lovely shire horses. Can be very windy, our awning got damaged in the strong winds even though it was very secure.
Was a bit disappointed with some aspects we were expecting a small camp site having read that it had about 16 or 20 pitches and as we were going over bank holiday weekend booked well in advance, we needn't have bothered booking as lots of people arrived without a booking. In the small top field mainly for caravans & motorhomes there must have been about 30 pitches and in the field where we were which is tents only (we have a campervan)there must have been about 50 pitches quite a lot more than we thought.
There are no designated pitches you can pitch anywhere you like which is a bit of a problem especially on a busy bank holiday we had difficulty getting our camper in and out as while we were out someone had pitched a tent right in front of us. It was a little crowded and unorganised.
The facilities are basic and although we are are usually happy with that unfortunately they weren't very clean in fact they weren't cleaned the whole 5 days we were there.

We had 2 weeks here in mid august fantastic views I cant say this enough, but were regularly obscured by what felt a little overcrowding. The pitch was very sloping and I must say the toilets/showers I'm sure were never cleaned while we were there.
The roads around the site are very narrow for miles and gave me cold sweats thinking of leaving glad we arrived early and left late as I have no idea how two caravans would negotiate past one another.
All this said I would visit again some day. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful and the views are truly stunning! My kids enjoyed it here and were allowed a lot of freedom. And the area has loads and loads to offer. Really enjoyed the stay very relaxed place

The camp site is in a very good view position but sometime quite windy because it is on top of the hill.
The road is not easy to drive up to the camp site because the road is very narrow and busy during day.
It is a good arrangement to separate tent and caravan.
The owner is friendly and always walk around the site. His horse is lovely.
The site facilities not very sufficient during busy time. The new shower block much better than the other side old facilities.
It is close to the loose town centre.

We have just returned home after a two week stay at Bay View Farm and overall we had a very enjoyable holiday. The best thing about the site is undoubtedly the view overlooking Looe bay and St George's Island - absolutely stunning and achievable from most pitches.
Mike, the owner was very friendly, we didn't see his wife but she was very friendly on the phone when she took our booking. On arrival it was Brett who met us and suggested a pitch for us which was centrally situated with a good view of the bay. Having said that, we saw a few people with caravans arrive after us who weren't sure where to go as there is no reception, such is the laid back approach of the site.
As with a lot of sites, there are good points and bad points. This is no fault of the site but the approach road is very narrow with some very small passing places which can be quite daunting if you meet something coming the other way. There is also a 17% incline to negotiate which we found difficult to get up with a twin axle caravan in tow from a standing start after having had to stop for a car coming the other way. This road seemed to be one of the main talking points between caravanners.
The only other issue we had with the site was the basic facilities which are situated in the barn. The toilets weren't always very clean and two toilets in each of the gents and ladies is not enough for the number of people on site. There are more showers but again because they are situated in the barn were not always very clean with cobwebs overhead.
On the plus side again, there are some fantastic coastal walks from the site and Looe is only 10 to 15 minutes drive away and is a lovely fishing town with a Cooperative store and Somerfield for provisions. The nearest main supermarket is Morrisons about 8 miles away in Liskeard.
All in all, we had a lovely fortnight, this is a friendly site, the owner was very helpful, the shire horses are adorable and any niggles we had about the facilities were outweighed by the gorgeous views and walks.

Site had a good view of the bay and that was the only thing going for this site. The toilet/shower block was of a very poor standard and was not cleaned in the 48 hours we were there. Also not enough for the number of pitches, especially as there was no control over the number, just a free for all.
Wash up area had 3 sinks of which 2 had to share a tap. No re-cycling of rubbish which was disappointing in this day and age. Mobile van visited 3 times per week with basic supplies. Some 2-3 miles to nearest shop and pubs.
